@majormagna That is ok i must have read it wrong as well,no problem worse things happen at sea as they say,i hope we are not gonna fall out over it LOL.......John
Cheers,i am the same,get the whole line open,like it used to be then i hope every body should be happy,i sure will,thanks for the comment.one day i may see you there......John
the sirens are there to act as an audible warning to pedestrians. the reason there aren't any barriers is because the crossing is automatic, and the supervising signalbox is not able to check the crossing is clear.
Thanks for the info,it was just dam annoying that siren,just was not expecting it ,at the time it did not sound that loud,till i played it back home,Grrrr!
If you ever film at Levisham, the Level Crossing there has a siren. Not sure about New Bridge Crossing, and Grosmont Crossing has one but it's rarely used (only if there's alot of people about).
@KitsuneProductions Thanks alot i will keep that in mind,i will be over that way again very shortly gonna ride the train from Whitby get off at every stop,and see what goodies i can get..............John
@johnwood57 Goathland stations a good place to be as they come up the 1 in 49 from Grosmont...but then everywhere on the NYMR is good! (You can't tell I work there at all can you?) anyways I'll shut up now lol
@johnwood57 am in grosmont box saturday 17th if you fancy popping up? just bare in mind i may tell you to go away, depends how the days going. can tell you some other good public places to film if you'd like? (tho i'm more knowledgable of the grosmont/goathland end)
Congratulations John for producing an excellent first attempt at Railway filming. It's not an easy subject to attempt, but you did a superb job...5* Bob
Thanks Walter,i know those crossing alarms are annoying,that road only leads into a parking lot and there is no barriers,nobody cares about the alarm they still drive across so why bother with the alarm?.........thanks for the comment......John
Thanks Wayne,those croossing alarms are a load of crap,why bother with an alarm when there is no barrier,that road only leads into a small parking lot,the track is only single and it is a dead end at the station which is only a couple of mins down the line,the traffic ignore them all the time,waste of space if you ask me.........John
Amazing how different Pickering Station looks today.

@johnwood57 That's actually what I was referring to; in retrospect I realise I didn't word it as well as I could have.

John Mate one hell of a excellent video,
Your new software is just great. Your camcorder is much steadier not so jerky but then that was probably in the processing and so clear.
ps I don't like the sound of your crossing warnings they suck bigtime LOL
Wayne a 5*+++++
