I work with homeless teenagers and all of the ones who have battled to get off drugs would dissagree with you i am afraid. If you have tried to get off drugs you would know it isn't easy, even weed is hard to kick for some people. Mental addiction is as powerful as physical!

I believe many of the bans on any variety of cannabis are enforced through lobbyists in Washington due to many of the of the benefits you cited. It would be taking money from the big corporations.
