  • This movie will forever remind me of the most important guy in my life = my dad!! Who is his own Henry Higgins.

  • I came here BECAUSE I BLOODY LOVE MY FAIR LADY! Fuck cartoons :)

  • I came here because of Fa- . . . . lies. I can here because I own My Fair Lady and love it. =)

  • i'm here because i ♥ MFL. never once watched Family Guy.. oh.. and i'm not an old lady... yet:)

  • What a fantastic actor! I love th way he uses his voice in this film. It's soo Henry Higgins. It's strange because, as someone who r

Watched this movie before reading the book, I didn't expect them to get together at all and tbh found it a bit odd. Yet when I read Pygmalion I almost wanted them together because I found their banter and the characters so fascinating together. The book's ending felt just as odd to me as the movie's. Both were so marvelously entertaining though!

  • I came here because of Family Guy.

  • @CursedLuna I watched every episode of that wretched show in the last 2 months. Never saw a second of it before October. It's funny once but soon forgotten. I'll remember My Fair Lady forever.

  • i came here because of the simpsons

  • I'm here because of mum and dad...

  • I came here because of My Fair Lady!

  • @dahuterschuter Touché!

  • im here because of the simpsons >.<

  • Where the devil are my slippers?

  • i came her for stewie griffin!

    seth mcfarlane rox!

  • @RichardElden I finally agree with you. Shaw would have hated it- as he seemed to hate so much of almost everything. The guy was a miserable little toad.

  • Why come and watch if you HATE it so much? Seems a bit sadomasochistic to watch videos that cause you so much pain LOL BTW, Rex did not 'murder' Carole L.

  • I came here because I like the song.

  • Stewie sings better:)

  • Now if i walked down the street doing that ide get shot :(

  • I came here to masturbate while tapdancing

  • If you're a Rex Harrison fan, THUMBS UP!

    PS.: Rex pwns.

  • This musical is one that definitely needs to be kept alive for future generations.

Can I request a remake? Just like the "Phantom of the Opera", this should be

    redone!

  • @TerriAnneNorth no way, our modern "talent" would kill this classical piece.

  • @0RedTree0 I agree with this, but I also disagree. There are a lot of absolutely amazing performers around today, with the only problems being casting choices: do they go for fantastic talent, or screaming fan-girls? And all too often, they make the wrong choice. Generally it's not the "talent" of the performer, it's the greed of those people doing the casting.

  • @abrandnewchaos well said. I couldn't agree more.

  • @abrandnewchaos wonderfully said. I stand corrected.

  • @TerriAnneNorth I agree! I'm a huge Phantom fan btw

  • I don't care why you decided to watch this Youtube video.

  • "She almost makes the day begin!" He just throws that out there like it doesn't mean anything, but I think that's the sweetest line in the song. ^__^

  • Wait if you're a guy comment back if you like this & other musicals :) ive never met one that did.

I love the part where she walks in and he goes: "Eliza..? where the devil are my slippers?"

  • @TheAlice567 Well, I am, and I enjoyed this as well as the book.

  • Before I start my hunt: Does anyone have the backing track for this? Not just the song, but the whole scene in particular?

Or does anyone know the precise name of it? (Ex: I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face reprise, etc.)

  • @RichardElden

Of course, Julie Andrews was unavailable at the time. She was busy doing Mary Poppins. But it would have been wonderful to see her playing this.

  • Marry Freddy. HA!

  • how ghoulish to be glad that anybody died of anything, she might not have been perfect for this part, but she was a great actress and a woman of grace and integrity

  • @readbeowulfnow /readbeowulfnow: Someone here seems to take a really odd delight in the tragic, heartbreaking fact of cancer deaths... have seen him say the same thing about Dean Martin. You chose a PERFECT word: ghoulish. I will always LOVE this movie and Ms. Hepburn.

  • LIKE IF YOU'RE HERE FOR MR. LINSER'S CLASS

  • @SnowBoProductions no one. Fail.

  • @RichardElden @markgundy What a heartess, wicked, brainless thing to say!

  • @RichardElden Nominated for 12 Academy Awards... As Jack Warner explained, "Why did I choose Audrey Hepburn instead of Julie Andrews? Julie was just a Broadway name known primarily to those who saw the play. But in our 50 states and abroad you can say Audrey Hepburn, and people instantly know you're talking about a beautiful and talented star. In my business I have to know who brings people and their money to a movie theatre box office. I knew Audrey Hepburn had never made a financial flop..."

  • @RichardElden talentless?? lol, not much of Hollywood would agree with you on that... Julie would have been great and WAS great on Broadway... the film remains an iconic classic largely due to a wonderful script and score but also because of two exceptional performances from it's two stars... anyway I agree Julie was and is a great talent - Mag (from MagChat)

  • The best Musical of all time... and to think they nearly cast Julie Andrews instead

  • what a song..isn't it amazing what a woman can do to a man? Well a man can do the same to a woman..

  • I came here because of family guy

  • @rbcrazyriderrb I came here because of the simpsons

  • @gamerguy0903 i came here because stewie sang this song lol

  • @rbcrazyriderrb

I came here because of The Simpsons, lol

  • @RichardElden And he's left you to die a bitter and pathetic.....whatever you are relegated to......this? Oh my word!

  • Wonderful, just wonderful!!

  • Thank you for posting- great memories of hearing this soundtrack as a child! This was my favorite.

  • @RichardElden May I ask: by calling him a murderer, are you referring to the Carole Landis story? Just curious.

  • @RichardElden Be a dear and keep your sick opinions to yourself.

  • @RichardElden Even though I don't know that much about Rex Harrison's life, I don't think he was bisexual. Even if he was, that doesn't have to do with anything. And no, it is not a well known fact.

  • @RichardElden No, he wasn't. What makes you say that to begin with?

  • @RichardElden No he wasn't.

  • still makes me smile

  • There is a scene after the Ball where Eliza bemoans "what is to become of me?" and being upset that she would have to leave the house.

She says Pickering always treated her like a lady even though she was a flower girl and he treated her like a flower girl even though she was a lady. He says not so ... He always treats everyone, flower girl or lady, the same, which is true. He also always treated her well (she agrees).

In the end, she likes being there and he likes having her around.

  • I love the fact that he covers his face with his hat to hide that he's smiling

  • My favorite movie EVER! 30 years later I still remember watching it the first time, totally enchanted.

  • He's in love.

  • What bugs me about this movie, as opposed to the book, is how hypocritical eliza is.

In the 'Show Me' song she sings about wanting a man to show her how he feels, not tell her. There's freddy listening to everything she wants and he gives it to her!

In the book they get together in the end, unlike here with Higgins and her.

Everytime freddy trys to kiss her or hold her in the 'Show me' song, she backs off.

It was more natural for her and freddy to be together, not higgins who's a cold person

  • @FunnyMsFace I think she was referring to wanting Henry to show that he loved her, and poor Freddy just happened to be the one she was expressing it too. But I agree, she seemed like a total hypocrite during that scene, especially since she says she'll marry him later.

  • @RichardElden so what

  • @RichardElden so what?

  • Henry Higgins was a douchebag.

  • @yosoyconsuela

    You mean pimp.

  • I love the moment at 3:27 and on, because it's the unsaid realization that he loves her and is remorseful that he'll never see her again. I don't know how, as he was a total asshole throughout the entire film, but that one moment made me feel sorry for him.

  • i only tuned into this because i saw sideshow bob sing it on simpsons

  • Sorry, my comment was for Richard

  • I feel sorry that you are so full of hate. You must be a very sad person to say things like this. I am praying for you to get peace in your life and appreciate the days you have and find some compassion. I hope your life won't be so hard for you.

  • Ok, I agree that the ending is a copout... What thinking woman would return to such sexist??? But what racism is there? Everyone in the movie is white for crying out loud? Is that it? Or did I miss some racist comments made by the characters?

  • @RichardElden - how is this film sexist, racist or dated? i agree with Kate8790. and also if you dont like the film, why are you commenting on videos from it?

to be honest, i think you are pathetic and dont know what your talking about.

why dont you go and watch videos from the trashy modern films that they release now.

  • I love this ending! :) One of the best. Not cheesy, perfect. A perfect fit ending to the perfect movie everyone should see!

  • Six people are squashed cabbage leafs.

  • i have just done this show it was amazing , tonight is the last night =( very sad its been great i love my fair lady now the movie has to be the best.

  • "Will I take her back or throw the baggage out?"

I love it when he refers to her like that!

  • Team Freddy. Much more charming and adorable and amazing compared to Higgins...>.<

  • Are theatre company is doing this tonight opening night to cant wait going to be great are Eliza and Higgens are perfect for the role. xx

  • such a romantic ending.

  • I had to add...what a HATER Professor Higgins is!!! So salty he is...and so hearbroken :D

  • I love Henry Higgins LOL!! He was such a woman hater and he ended up falling for Eliza...I love this movie lol. And she comes back...because they could not live without each other :)

  • i want freddie

  • @MsSmartSexy FINALLY, SOMEONE ELSE WHO LIKES FREDDY <333

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • throw the baggage out!! I love it!!

  • where the devil are my slippers?

  • poor eliza

    how humiliating

    how delightful

    XD

that's how i am - i take pleasure in getting back at pple

  • Seth McFarlane based Stewie's voice on Rex Harrison's voice.. random fact

  • @prokhan17 -.- no shit

  • At 6:00 you can see a shadow move across the floor.

  • Thumbs up if Family Guy brought you here ;)

  • @AngTheDino thumbs up. Stewie nailed it.

  • @testodude Agreed ;D

  • Harrison always said that this scene was his favorite part of the stage production, as he had the stage to himself until he enters his study.

  • it's doom i tellz ya. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

  • @inklove878 lol XD

  • Eliza. :) Where the devil are my slippers? :)

  • @hawaiidiver68 Good point. But it's interesting that the guy who wrote the book is the guy who changed his own ending. Shaw wrote the screenplay for the first adaptation of Pygmalion with Leslie Howard in 1938. He rewrote his own ending so that Eliza comes back to Higgins. When they were making this version, they decided to use his 1938 ending..

  • @Atellix Actually, although he wrote dialog for the 1938 version, he did not agree with the ending. He had a clause in his contract that all the new dialog for the movie HE had to write and he thought this would prevent them from making any big changes to the plot. The producers got around this by using only lines Shaw had already written for the ending ("I washed my face and hands before I come, I did" and "Where the devil are my slippers?")

  • You have been bitten & smitten by the love bug Professor Higgins. Go ahead an admit it! :-)

  • @RichardElden Cetainly possible, Richard, but remember to suspend your disbelief or your cynicism will kill a great deal of joy for you. I see the romance growing as the movie would suggest.

  • this is on family guy right now!!!!!

  • This movie is so sexist, but it's so great, I forgive it completely :) Higgins is an ass hole, but that's why we love him :)

  • SHE'LL regret it!!

  • where the devil are my slippers?

  • @RichardElden wtf?

  • @RichardElden there's a different between "classic" and "dated".

Notice he doesn't TELL her to go get his slippers. And she doesn't go looking for them.

They're equals with each other now. He's just being "too cool" to verbally admit how much he missed her and is glad she's back.

  • you people are not qualidied to be making comments now get lost

  • One of the classic endings in live action movie history. I loved this musical

  • Like breathing out and breathing in...

  • better get use to Bush ass as you have often come in and out, and Blair ass too as you often forget to tighten when you get inside, is time to do some serious damage to these twin brothers.............let them scream as let other people blood flow..............

  • Higgins reminds me so much of my boyfriend... oh I love that man, but he drives me crazy.

  • I really love the way Rex plays this. The character seems defiant to admit his attraction to her Eliza, and Rex shuffles between indignation and sweetness so very well.

  • @JeddtheJedi Higgins was gay.

  • @JuanMacready so are you

  • stewie from family guy

  • So incredible !!!I love this so much makes me wish my name was Eliza e everytime....Debbie cries like a baby....

  • Hes growned accustumed to my voice lalalala

  • @elledoll, it's my favorite song from the movie too

  • "DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN" classic lmfao!

  • @home9dog2blue Yeah I never forgot that line since I first heard it when I was 10.

  • Stewie sang this during on the of the eariler episodes.

  • One of the greatest musicals of all time.

  • @XaurreauX The play was, the film was just fucking shite.

  • @JuanMacready You're entitled to that opinion :)

  • The play ending was better and made more sense. The writer (Bernard Shaw, I believe?) said that it would be more depressing for a young woman to be married to an abusive older man. And I agree.

  • Totally my favorite song from the musical too!

  • Aaawww man so sad cuz tottenham court road is a shitty place nah full of none english and you have to whistle for a cockney.....God I HATE PC arseholes who are ruining my lovely england.

  • This man is great and prob reason why is hes from same place as Beatles LIVERPOOL

  • Unfortunately of Higgins, Eliza is not the type of woman you can forget so easily. She came into his life whether he wanted her to or not and now he realizes he's going to miss her.

  • how they got stewie from family guy doing voices for this

  • @punanyologist Yeah! Stewie Griffin.. I can see Stewie in the Rex character!!! I could never figure out who Stewie reminded me of.............love this movie!

  • I love the ending; he's really happy that she's back, but he's too "cool" to admit it. ;)

  • He's SUCH a misogynistic pig and abusive to boot! So arrogant. So self-serving. So demanding. She should RUN!

  • @tiptoe221 And he was gay.

  • @tiptoe221 My wife and I disagree on this, but my opinion of the last scene is that in a good way, he's toast. He's in love, and though it will shock and surprise him, he will bend. She's found her strength, and she won't take any more of his crap. He admires her pluck and her astonishing development (which strokes he ego). She's got him by the throat.

  • @chrislukelily you should read the book, it doesnt end this way.

  • @JuanMacready Higgins or the actor playing him? :D

  • @FilmFreakje1 Rex Harrison was known to be bisexual, but the character Higgins was a closet homosexual with Asperger's Syndrome.

  • @JuanMacready Dude lol I see you a lot and think youy got same tastes as me...why you always on same vids I like ? Your a prick but I KNOW YOU DUDE hahaha

  • @JuanMacready

Hardly. And what is it with nerds being obsessed with Asperger's Syndrome.

  • @JuanMacready I agree with you! tank you for this unforgetable moment!

  • Ahh that JuanMacready kid is just trying to start some problems with people dont worry about it lol .

  • I'm lucky I was able to watch him at Pantages back in 1980's He was one and only Dr. Higgins

  • @JuanMacready

WTF do you mean by that? If it is an contemptuous way, maybe you can make it three of a kind!

  • @JuanMacready You're a moron.

  • @JuanMacready Rubbish. I met Harrison while he was performing on Broadway ("The Circle") a mere 3 weeks before his death. His eyesight, diction, clarity of mind and performance were all first rate.

  • What the hell is the deal with "I've grown 'accustomed' to her face". ?!

Husband: "Ummm....dear... you know . . .I need to tell you... it's been sometimes difficult for me over the years, but I think that looking at you lately has become a little less painful. I've grown accustomed to your face."

    Wife: *WHACK!*

  • This movie is so romantic. its unlike any other, where the only way they express their feelings is making out and stuff. This shows how much they truly care for each other. By the way, i LOVE the instrumental at 4:18 to 5:40 :)

  • @Lilc433 There was no romance at all in this movie.

  • @Sshelly34213 Unfortunately there was no treatment in the year 1912 for the autistic closet homosexual Higgins. However perhaps Hepburn should have given up the cancer sticks?
