obliterators may act as equivalent to the space marine terminators, but they are something entirely else, they were normal marines once, who inflicted themselves with the obliterator virus. so they transformed into beings who can absorb weapons and morph their limps into guns.
too true, but forget not their obsession with technology which drove them to self inflict the virus. But Saber has the right idea, in Dark Crusade, obliteraters are supposed to be the equivalent to termies.

you know, oddly enough, my second army is an ork army, but i have yet to best my chaos space marines in combat. They're just alittle too brutal thanks to the new codex they got...2 attacks standerd!
All of their armor is so damn old because it dates back to The Horus Heresy which happened back in the year 30,--- something. That makes it what.... Mk. III or some crap like that? Did anyone else notice that the CSM montage music was a harder core version of Sonic the Hedgehogs boss battle music? lol
Loyalists are boring. CSM are diverse and pocess an amazing amount of detail. Plus there background are way more interesting considering there long lives.

Yep, absolutely. But tbh i really like the idea that equipment like a termie suit is very VERY rare with the csm. I also like the idea that most of their equipment is amazingly ancient. I always thought it was unique that even with the messy and chaotic attitude of the csm they still maintain their equipment at almost a perfect level. Chaos dreadnoughts are also really nice considering their detail and age. But they raid and get fresg renegade chapter lads to get some new equipment.

too true, but my goal wasnt to give the loyalist marines a vicious feel to em, i wanted to give the idea that they're an honorable, noble type thing. I think the landing helped alot to that point

thats a good question though, i remember reading that their drive for sex is removed when they get fitted for implants.
But some books do show marines showing compassion for the opposite sex...though that could be the writer just not sticking to the cannon...
