  • @cutie6612 Glad it could help you!

  • So amazing...

  • If the dinosaurs only knew what they'd be doing 250 million years later...

  • Absolutely wonderful.

    I rehabilitate hummingbirds in AZ.

They are such a joy to work with.

  • Just Amazing!!!!

  • These are such intriguing little birds and it's such a treat to see them in the yard. This is a wonderful presentation. :)

  • Doug, if you read these comments - it looks like a swimmer treading water!

  • Riverside!...yes go Doug!

  • I have always loved to watch humming birds. They are my favorite of all the birds! This was so great. They truly are different from all the other species of birds!

  • That was wonderful =D I loved it

  • An amazement to me is that their stabilization is so precise that their heads can be absolutely frozen in space while they hover.

  • I understand why you trying to say anamarie8.Why I don't understand is the negativity of those who are so fast to jump and post their brilliant opinion.I will love to put them in a lab and work my magic on them, you know, just to see what they do.

  • as i watch this video,i think,i could learn more from watching a hummingbird in it's natural environment, then these folks will ever learn by testing them in the "lab"

why do people do such weird things with animals?i saw a program the other night about seals, and the amount of effort and equipment to anesthesise the seal after trapping it and then equipming it with data gathering equipment is frankly just bizarre to me.

  • anaesthetize

  • Difficulty. That's why.

Observing hummingbirds/seals in the wild would takes decades.

And in the case of seals, they dive under the water's surface for low periods of time, which makes following them next to impossible.

  • @anamarie8 Good luck learning from a humming bird in its natural environment when it flies away.

  • Labs allow you to limit and set variables that nature may not allow one to control. And not all animals are as hard to test as seals.

  • Thank you PBS. I grew up watching the channel, and it is still to this day the only place I can find quality entertainment!

Thanks Again, Keep it up, and God Bless!

  • wow, thats just amazing. creation of mother nature . but id rather learn about human s than birds :) loka sutta
