  • No, They Wanted them ALL dead, Itachi had to bed them not to kill Sasuke, and the reason he is in Akatsuki is so he would have a reason to keep an eye on them and keep an eye on sasuke. When the 3rd died. he suspected Danzou an elder would kill sasuke so itachi showed up to warn him he was alive and that he would kill him if he layed a hand on sasuke.
