I own this game for my genesis ( busted genesis I should say) my computer, which I play it on aha smash pack 2 ( Ty to my bro for buying ssp2 a few years ago and giving it to me) and I just downloaded on my iPod touch yesterday cuz I can't get ssp2 to install on my computer right now. Yes you heard it right folks, sega has released shining force as an app!!! Controls kinda suck, but exact same game and I love it. Sega also has many other classics as apps, such as sonic 1, 2, and 3, and others.

honestly its $2.99 dollars on steam for this and $29.50 for the genesis pack which is 40 different games including this and shining force 2 or you can just buy the genesis pack 4 which is 10 games which includes this and shining force 2 full details on steam and if you have bought it somewhere else that is the only exception for using an emulater

@rukiafan1 A PC game bundle called "Sega Smash Pack II" also contains this game. It also had Sonic 2, Comix Zone, Flicky, Kid Chameleon, Super Hang On, and Vectorman 2. I bet you could find that on eBay or Amazon.

@gangster2008 You can buy it by itself for 2.99 on Steam or Gamers Gate or for 7.50 you can Genesis/mega drive collection Pack 4 which has Shining Force 1,2, and Shining in the darkness as well as Landstalker, Streets of rage 1 and 2, Gunstar heroes, Alien Solider, Light Crusader, and Wonder Boy 3.Or for 20 you can get all four packs which has 40 games and I think they added the Sonic games to the bundle now as well or so I heard so it may be 45 if they sonic games are included

@gangster2008 Happy to help man, I almost didn't even know these were out for the PC to purchase till it came up one day on Steam's front page, shame you can't get Toe Jam and Earl on Steam still,they had it but Sega had it pulled to licensing issues, which seem to have been resolved since it's now being sold on Gamers gate.

I used to play this game all the time, along with the second one when my family owned the genesis a long time ago. I wanted to go back and play this game, and picked up the Sonic Genesis compilation on the 360 just cause it was the same cost as one of the original cartridges, and you got a bunch of extra games.

i had both GBA version and original one on Sega Smash Pack :D both were very fun.... Pretty much the same cept hanzo (promote), musashi (promote), "CARDS", mawlock, narsha, zuika, epilogue, and etc.... i reccommend the first original one :D so fun

Funny that you should play this, because I just got the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and both Shining Force games are in the collection.

Not trying to advertise, but there are tons of games on that collection that I wasn't expecting, like all 4 Phantasy Star games (including the first one, and to my knowledge this is the first time since the days of the Master System that you can actually PLAY that game on a non-handheld console). Let's see... E-Swat, Beyond Oasis, Shining in the Darkness, Gain Ground (a really freaking addictive action/strategy game), and a bunch of others. 30 bucks, people. That's all.

I just started this one myself (though I'm not "longplaying" it by talking to everyone...and of course I don't do commentary). It'll be interesting to see how you do things differently.

By the way, to get the old man in the tower with the telescope to move, look into the opposite end of the telescope. It's worth it.

omg one of my favorite Sega genesis games I have this for my Kega Fusion emulator which is a Genesis emulator I think the old Phantasy Star series would make a good lets play.Shining Force was always my favorite game series it was a shame they only had 3 games in the shining force series.

Well, they had Shining Force 1,2, and 3 - but they also had Shining Force CD, and Shining Force on the GBA. I haven't played Shining Force CD, but I have the GBA version, and it's pretty good. There are also a bunch of other 'Shining' games, but I don't think any of them are the same tactical style. Worth looking into, anyway. :)

For Hanzou, follow the signposts after the second battle in Chapter 5

And they're both promotable.
