  • When i did this for my mum's car i realized why the stock replacement plug is an iridium tipped plugs good for over 100 000 miles, because a shop would charge you probably $100 in labor, assuming you have a 4 year old Note/Versa who's vacuum lines are practically glued onto their fittings.

  • @thinkpad411 But really it's actually a good reason/opportunity to also clean the throttle body and intake.

  • @thinkpad411

Iridium plugs are an option of course.

The whole idea is to service the engine at a lower cost.....without compromising the Nissan specifications.

NGK platinum tip sparkplugs are around 40% cheaper than the Denso plugs specified in the manual.

  • so heres a question? i went to autozone for my plugs and they gave me a 5/8 plug what size is that spark plug removal bar? i see a guy posted saying he used 14mm socket and a pair of needle nose pliers but im just making sure these morons didnt give me the wrong set of plugs cuz that aint cool.. i got irdium plugs BTW. just let me know your thoughts your vid helped me out tons! im going to post a vid of my own on this for others that need an alternate way of doing the job. THANKS!

  • @TMSLAUGHTER26 Stock Versa (same as Note) plugs will work with a generic 14mm deep well socket with the rubber spark plug retaining boot (you can pull this out of spark plug sockets), i used two 3/8 drive extensions to get down through the spark plug bore. You could take the cam cover off if you wanted to make it easier to get at.

  • @thinkpad411 lol thinks man for the info but i figured this crap out along time ago.. i bought a 14mm spark plug socket off of a SNAP-ON truck it cost me 45 buck for the socket. and i have a 10" ext. i had to run around and i found a shop that would order me the plugs the next day. i just recently changed them out. god i love working on cars.

  • Thanks for the video. good breakdown. F dealers they are nothing but a con artist.

  • Great video.

  • Thanks I finally got it. That bar is not available in the U.S. but a 14mm socket and a long needle pliers worked perfectly.

Thanks for posting this video. It has been a tremendous help.

  • Just ask your local motor parts store for a narrow long reach spark plug bar.

Its the same bar that does the renault clio .

  • Where can I get a hold of this spark plug removal bar? I'm having difficulty finding one.....please help. Thanks

  • Looking at buying denso spark plugs, seem to have great reviews.

  • Looks pretty easy, I've got a note 1.6 auto. Thinking of a k & n air filter, k & n oil filter, some good oil & decent spark plugs for next service & will still be much cheaper & better than a main dealer service at £300 +.

  • Thanks for this - its the same engine as a 160sr micra so very usefull.

  • Thank you for making and sharing this video.

You have saved me several hundred bucks. FOR SURE.!!!

  • try looking at ebay i manage to get a cd manual of a nissan note 1.4

  • Removing all that stuff just to get to the plugs? Dang, and i thought my 90' 300zx was a bit tricky.

  • notice how they dropped the slogan "you can with a nissan"?

they want you to think "you can't with a nissan" ;-)

  • Thanks for posting this. I tried looking for workshop manual for nissan note but could not find any.
