Great video. Seems like a Sitcom set-up well ahead of its' time. Just saw on IMDB that Cleavon Little replaced Faison in the later seasons. Crazy! Same character, different actor. Awesome addition to forgotten Sitcoms found only on Youtube.
yeah, i forgot all about this show. i have not seen this show in years. they should bring this show back just like they did the "90's is all that line-up."
I thought I was the only one who remembered this show. Ah, 6th grade....It was such a good time to be alive. Thanks for taking the time to upload this.
FINALLY !! I have been trying to remember this show for years now..no one I knew could tell me the name of it. I had to Google "Fox Sitcoms of the 90's" and finally found it. I used to watch this show. I always thought that red head was extremely pretty and was curious what had ever happened to her..if she was on other shows. Turned out she has been working quite a lot all these years, doing spot work on various hit tv shows all these years. She is now a main character of ARMY WIVES.
Actually, two seasons (original episodes airing through February 1992, primetime reruns continuing through August '92). Soon after the last original episode aired, two of its stars, Nancy Walker and Cleavon Little (who took over as Ron in the second season) both died, only seven months apart.
I watched this show faithfully. The Noxema girl(if anybody remembers that) just started in TV and movie roles after her commercial. I stopped watching it when they replaced the father. After they did that the show went down hill. I love going back down memory lane(remember that song?). Thanks for putting these up. They don't make shows like this anymore.
Cleavon Little made guest appearances -The Mod Squad,, Police Story, All In The Family, The Rockford Files, The Love Boat, on Dear John - won Outstanding guest Actor beating, Leslie Nielsen and Sammy Davis, Jr. he was to play a black Congressman, but that series was poorly received by real a real black Congressmen it was canceled before making it to air. He replaced Frankie Faison as Ronald Freeman, a black dentist married to Ellen Freeman, a white housewife, on FOX sitcom True Colors.
I thought this was a ground breaking show. Too bad it didn't get the enough ratings to stay on the air. I hope that some producer somewhere will try this again. We need it bad!! I think maybe this show was just a little ahead of it's time. ...and of course it had a bad time slot on a not so good station as well. Please try this again!!! And put me in it as the husband/father.
@TOPCOO In my area this show started on FOX when FOX first aired. It had an excellent time slot on Sundays along with "Parker Lewis Cant Loose" , "The Simpsons" and "America Most Wanted"
This was a great show. Ironically, I grew up and now have a white wife with sons of her own, and we have a son and daughter together, and they don't know the difference. Kids definitely don't care about race until they are poisoned by some a**hole.
I really miss this show. It came out when the music of the 90's was in transition and everything seemed like a pleasant time to be. I loved Lester and the mom and I love the interactions of the family of mixed race. Its what we needed back then. Ill have to try to upload a couple of episodes (once I find my VHS tapes)
I really liked this show. Too bad they canceled it so early. I like how kids can be so innocent and color-blind. The little girl says "They look just like you and daddy when you got married." Race is such a social construct.
I got to you give your props BrownSugar, you keep a hold on the classics that we can't find in syndication. This was another show of mines I couldn't miss.

The canceled it because the old lady died in real life and somehow the people at Fox thought the show wouldn't survive without her wisecracks.

One of the best shows ever! Say, what is the name of the episode in which Lester and his brother go to jail? That, too, is a funny episode.
