  • This outfit like, screams sex!!! I <3 Gene!!!

  • Awesome talent!!!! Gone but not forgotten........

  • If there's anything I love more than a great film, it's a great broadway.

  • Amazing! Graceful, and all man!

  • The movie is "Anchors Aweigh". I believe he's dancing to "La Cumparsita" - tango, not flamenco as the title says...

  • which movie is it? and which year???

  • this is my favourite dance of Gene Kellys. I wish we could have seen it complete. I agree with everyone, he was MAGNIFICENT!

  • OMG so manly and magnificent, it is simply breathtaking

  • What passion!, what elegance!, what a magnificent presence! This way dance a Pasodoble (from Spain) and a Tango (from Argentina), two romantic and passionate dances. Gene was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gosh, I could watch this man dance for hours. Gene Kelly was amazing.

  • My only complaint about this video... is that it doesn't contain the whole exciting number!!!

If anyone can upload the entire shot of this dazzling, breathtaking sequence, I'm sure we'd all greatly appreciate it :o)

  • Sorry, which film is this from?

  • @Roonvanaldo Ah I see, Anchors Aweigh - always read the description. Ahem.

  • plese poner todo el tango del final gracias el mejor gene kelly

  • I read that the production team were afraid to let him do that big swing at the end because you know he could fall....so they had this big discussion as to whether he should do it or not and what happens?!?! the rose that he catches at the beginning of the number (a plastic rose) punctures his hand and he gets blood poisoning! haha he said he was all clammy, shaky, and pale and they had to continue to apply make-up to him because he was pale =( poor gene!

  • ohhhh my....gosh!!!! awesome, i dont have a word....he is sooooooo fantastic...and guapo! lo amo...

  • i would like to see fred astaire do this! no one can dance like gene kelly!

  • i can't even form coherent thoughts when i watch him dance

  • Fantastic as always and wins my heart every time!

  • look at those legs!! not only are they takented but freaking sexy as hell!!

  • What a physique. Perfection! One of the greatest dancer's of all time. I have loved this man since I was 5 and I never get tired of watching him.

  • i think the second song is a part or a pasodoble called España cañí, but this is not exactly Flamenco.

and the performance is really amazing!!! :D

  • this is my all time favorite of all the routines I've seen him do! breathtaking! :D

  • I never understood what it meant to be captivated by someone - then I saw Gene Kelly dance. HE COULD DO ANYTHING

  • they dont make men like him anymore.

  • I COMPLETELY agree! ......what a shame :(

  • @weSalsaOn2 true that; bold, athletic, competitive, straight, maniacally adept, tireless, happy....

  • He is incomparable!

  • This dance sequence really shows the Spanish-Irish in Gene Kelley. All the good looking Irish-American actors or actresses have that Spanish look. Ronald Reagan, Audie Leon Murphy, JFK, Maureen O'Hara, to name a few.

  • "Black Irish" = Irish people with dark or black hair and brown eyes, which some claim are of Iberian or Spanish derivation/ancestry.

  • And don't forget Pat O'Brien, Tyrone Power, Steve Cochran, and, Edmund O'Brien, and Donald O'connor..

  • Watching Gene Kelly dancing takes my breath away...this guy is incomparable!

  • There never was and never will be another! Sigh! He is breathtaking!

  • What is the name of the song? like the original song used for this number?

  • The song at the beginning is called "La Cumparsita" by Matos Rodriguez and it is one of the most famous tangos...even though he is dancing it in a more "Flamenco" style. The second part is a one of the most famous Flamenco songs

  • What exactly do you call this style of dance? Tango tap ballet (because he goes en pointe in tap shoes?!?) Flamenco tap? Oh, who cares! Was he an American prince, or Superman's cousin? Not sure, but the more I see, the more amazed I am.

  • I totally agree he was just a forced to be reckoned with unlike anything else. I am in a constant state of shock when i watch him act, sing or dance its jsut always fantastic.

  • i think this style of dance is called simply Gene Kelly nobody but him will ever dance like that

  • Ahh, Gene...he's such an inspiration! (And really cute!) They just don't have men like this anymore!

  • I agree, I would have easily married him!

  • You'd would've had to gone through me first ;) I couldn't have shared him!

  • Amazing....

He was a very, very big talent!!!

...and yes, he is so cute!!!

  • where is the rest of the video??? T_T

  • *sigh* If he were about 60 years younger... and still alive... well, need I say more? This vid is fabulous.

  • They'd have to bring in the authorities to keep me away from him!
