My 2009 G5 is doing the same thing, I took it to the dealership that I bought it from and they told me it was a "loss of connection between the Electronic Control Module, the Body Control Module and the Steering assist module", have yet to get it fixed, so I hope that this fixes it because when it is doing this the transmission is slipping and i don't have a working speedometer so i don't know how fast I'm going.

@sasserdave i made 2 20 second clips with a cellphone while driving while it was happening..fuck id waste 40 seconds any day to get some help with that problem. i took it to the dealership many many times...they rewired everything, replaced solenoids and spent hrs of time researching the problem...after 4 yrs of paying for a car that had so many problems..i gave it back to the dealership for a different vehicle..btw everything was under warranty...they made no money off me. just wasted my time.
@77toyota Thank you for the msg buddy. I did receive the recall notice and now i'm going to schedule to get the car in. Was your car receiving the same problems with the gauges and loss of power steering?
@jonmac15 no i never gave it the chance to do it .. my ignition got stuck on and the car wouldn't shut off .. i took it in and made them a big list of things to do to it, they had to, door handle, power steering, ignition. one of my wheel censers is out too. i think these cars are junk im going to sell myne next year they tear up alot

Yeah Joe ihave owned this G5 since brand new and it has been doing it for a long time now, i think they replaced the same wiring to the module. this doesnt happen all the time with my car...only sometimes very randomly. within the first 3 months of owning my brand new g5 5 speed manual my tranny was gone...and they blamed it on me...GM has gone to the sh#ts and cant make cars.
Hey Jonmac15, ive had many diff problems with my 2006 g5/pursuit. as for the gauges i dont have that problem. i did have the power steering problem but ill tell ya how it fixed its self. it started getting worse & worse (i even got a ticket for going 120km/h bc it didnt break above that) anyways. the power steering has to do with the electric motor (no fluid). one day it got so bad i put it in Neutral while moving, rev'd it to 2k RPM & kept turning the key off & on, & fixed its self. no problems
just to let ya know man i seen that shit fine. Nothing wrong with it. Some people have to complain ya know? Hope all got worked out. Buy a honda bro. thanks buddy, i personally didnt think it looked to bad...i could see it clearly myself but i also see it in person also..could be confusing for people who dont know anything about cars like mr carlito. who is apparently sooo 69. *claps* honestly man. i went to honda dealership.they were gonna give me 8k for my car wen it was only 1 year old..like 14k value loss..and for the lowest end of a new civic was 24k..couldnt do it..way to much of a loss on the pontiac..even tho i knew it was coming. lol
