Nice gameplay! I also recommend using XFire it's also good quality and it's free! Fraps can only record 30 second clips and you have to be quick with your recording buttons!

The lack of user generated content and Mods are just 2 of the reasons mach-making fails not to mention is just an open pass for devs to milk players with DLC

Others include the lack of clans and competitions. All you so called reasons that host is better then dedi can be solved with the favourites button its truly a magical thing it lets you store decent servers for quick access so you can play all day long a...connection error

@DJFkhed there already are dedicated servers for some PS3 games, eg resistance 2 (60 player) and MAG (256 player).

They work absolutely fine, MAG has zero lag 99% of the time. Just like PC.

You can see for yourself, MW2 can barely handle 18 players with P2P networking (not dedicated servers).

It is dedicated servers. They are rare on consoles, but they do exist!

I was probably the biggest mw2 fanboi. I bought the game on release day and have been playing it ever since, with a 2.0 overall k:d ratio (so, I dont suck) and level 55. I loved IWNet when it first came out because it was easier to find games and whatever, but now that I've played it for a week or 2, however long its been.... I see why dedicated servers exist. I hardly ever get a good ping with iwnet, host migration is annoying as shit. i mean it's a great game, w/ dedicated servers

Correct, you can't do any of that. Games can be from 3 mins (quick S&D game as you cannot choose round limit) to 10-15 mins.

rounds are short

you can play with friends using the invite system (steam friends) but it's unlikely if there's more than 3 of you, that you'll get in the same game.

It is pathetic.

You first need to understand that IWNET uses peer2peer connection.. no dedicated servers anymore. Peer2Peer is terrible... this means you could have a kid who does not even have 500KB upload speed hosting the game and having advatage while you are high pinging. One time in ONE game i changed the host 5 times... because the hosts decided to quit... I spent more time connecting than playing.

While playing domination 6vs6 (lol 6on6.. so little players) 4 players on my team decided to leave.. so the game was stuck at 6vs2 with no option to change sides or no in game balancing.. great development work there IW. Morons.

So IWNET was designed so that the gaming industry can finally start making money of PC gamers. Why?

hey I know the problem now. You say you only have a modem right? Get a router. Modem's are for connecting to the internet at high speed, but router's are to connect to other computers via internet. Like let's say you wanted to play an online game (even an MMO), you'd need a router for best performance. It seems IWnet demands a router use, same goes for consoles.

Hey, yes I only have a modem, I connect direct to the net. That sucks if I need to buy a router. I play other online games such as CS:S and L4D and don't have any problems. Such a hassle for this game...  Thanks for your reply!

Really? o.O i was under the assumption that all a router is for is to split a direct connection to the internet to multiple devices. I cant see how that would affect a single machine's perfomance online, especially if its the only device using any bandwidth..

It is to share your internet with other computers so you all are on the same connection. It's like using your single modem on several other computers far away if I am not mistaken. It improves connections to others because modems, althought they can connect to other computers online, they only mildly do it and rather depend to connect on servers.

Hey just wanted to update that I got MW2 to connect to IWnet. My ISP came in and changed my cable modem and afew lines of coax cable and boom it works. They also said connecting direct through a modem is the best way and not a router.

The numbers will keep rising. After a year, they will stay at a high number, steady. How do I know this? I don't know if you are into science, but the nature for us is to basically support and utilize a specific feature that appeals to us. Number rise and rise and rise and then stay at a steady point. Eventually, they will fall. MW2's numbers will start falling July 2011 minimum. Maximum would be somewhere early 2012. So it has a good 1 and a half-2 years of multiplayer life.

What was the IWnet experiance like?, did you suffer lag, bad connectivity and/or bad reactions due to client hosting?

Aside from the initial host migration issue, I didn't have another host migration attempt in over 2 hours of play.

I didn't notice any lag whatsoever and overall the experience was very good. It pains me to say this because I was so pissed off with IW for not including dedicated servers.

I also did not really feel like the games I played lacked players, every match seemed to have a good number of people involved.
