  • Why wire in an ic when the ic can be built on the breadboard

  • So Colin, this is a wonderfully creative and informative video. I might suggest that next time around you use Copper Nails too, just to take it up a notch on the low tech side of things.

    Bravo, well done!

  • better hide it from Mom! she'll beat your ass for makin holes in her choppin board.

  • @stephen3398 Nice try....that dude probably has a million dollar house of his own......no mommy needed.

  • the bread must be hard as stone!

  • Gotta love Collin. His lab is probly my favorite youtube show.

  • Collins lab is my favorite!

  • I would like all of this guys practical know how but absolutely none of his social skills.

  • @ChrisD4335 How do you know, that guy mgiht be knee-deep in beautiful girls shitholes.

  • @tickyul well no offense to him but not a fuckin chance in hell unless there pros

  • @ChrisD4335 Never know, dude might be packin a salami that would choke a racehorse.

  • @tickyul good dick don't get you girls it just helps u keep um

  • @ChrisD4335 Uh.......no, you are wrong.

I have seen girls get porked by 6 inches and 9-10 inches.....the difference is quite stark. The women getting jacked by the huge salami just about lose their minds........small to average......they try to stay awake. MAYBE sex is not as important as scamming/sponging money/goodies off a dude.....but that is debateable.......especially if the women is a real sex fiend.

  • @tickyul or so I've been told I'm actually terrible in bed

  • @ChrisD4335 Jon the club dude........women hate my guts.........I should have been born fruity in the manties.

  • Suddenly, axially-leaded capacitors don't seem so weird anymore.

  • Omg I built this and I couldnt find any wire so I went to radio shack to get wire and I ripped the package open and built this and I used enameled wire

  • I have a woman to make my sammiches for me, and I don't let her touch my electronics.

  • I'll stick with FAKE breadboards for now...

  • Minecraft???......

  • @ZEROgring0 do you mean you've watched minecraft videos before reaching this or like me playing minecraft while watching this?

  • @kokoilie i play minecraft too, im just saying that this looks like the redstones circuits

  • I'll have a Transistor Sandwich with Resistors, Inductors and Capacitors

    Hold the mayo, please.

  • @kdc43 I'll have a Inductor & IC with Transistor And Diode .

Oh , no Resistor please .

  • I find it surprising the nails don't mess the circuit up somehow.

  • @lhoney2 theyre part of the circuit... >_>

  • @lhoney2 I understand that some people use strictly brass nails in particular; presumably to avoid iron, which can become magnetized. I think it's mainly an issue for radio-frequency circuits.

  • You could slice bread on the rithm of the LED's.

  • Why does it look like you actually soldered things to the nails?

  • Can someone tell me how this schematic works (from 1:03 minute)? How can these transistor be opened if there are no charge in capacitor from the begining?

  • Some of you electronic nerds out there would call this method "Hardware BASIC"...

  • Made stuff this way for the real world, 20 out of 10

  • this is cool , i might do it

  • the proper name for the circuit at 1:00 is a "T flip flop"

  • @djscottdog1 Well a T flip flop is actually a circuit that toggles its output when it sees a active edge on its output. This circuit is called a astable multivibrator. With a few modifications it could be turned in to a RS flip flop.

  • @berni8k your right my mistake lol

  • @djscottdog1 sorry meant active edge on its input

  • @djscottdog1 No, sir. This is an astable multivibrator. To turn it into a flip-flop (a.k.a. a bistable multivibrator), you'd have to replace the capacitors with a pair of resistors, probably a few kiloohms a piece. Replacing only one capacitor with a resistor yields a monostable multivibrator; a circuit akin to the gadget that automatically turns off hallway lights a fixed time after they were turned on.

  • @AssemblerGuy your right my mistake , very similar , i was shore that flip flops had capacitors in them

  • I've seen quite a few tube amps made like this onto a piece of wood. Almost artistic, I'll have to make one and hang it on my wall :P

  • @HammerFET I was thinking the very same thing.

  • wouldn't those coilings make inductances?

  • @pcmask Yeah but nothing to worry about in a circuit like that. They wouldn't affect anything at that kind of low frequency. Go up into several tens of MHz then yes, you will have small antennas and stray inductances everywhere.

  • That's the coolest CKT I've ever seen! :D

  • Why is your multivibrator has so square-like waves ?

    O_o

  • ROFL The end killed me. XD

  • What a waste of wire. But at least the ventilation is great. XD I was wondering for years why they called it breadboard. Now I know. Thanks a lot. ;)

  • Makes me wonder if the first electronic chips were cooked in oil or oven baked.

  • nailing an IC to the board LOLZ!

  • weird thing is that this is the first (breadboard)/ electronics thing i did hammer and nails.. weird thing number two.. it was the exact same sircut led blinker XD

  • You can't nail vacuum tubes either...

  • the hammer better be from weller *grin*

  • i want a lembas bredboard

  • mistery solved!

  • cool concept

  • mmmmm crusty bread.....

  • can we replace transistor with new components?

  • I use to do this when I was a child.

  • I love this show. You're awesome.

  • thumbs up if you want to download the music :D

  • @cristian3131 Sounds like some old GEM electronic musical instrument from the middle or end of the 80s. Especially the drums sound GEMish...

  • who watches this stuff without doing any of them at home?!?! :D

  • How do you find your stuff? I tried to build this a a snowy day and coludn find any 10uf caps or 2N3906 q's.

  • @agentetra digikey?

  • @ThinkLearnSolve Thanks, I'll try that site.

  • uuuuummmmm..bread my favourite one :d

    give me one slice plssss

  • look at all the small inductors ;)

  • i've already watched this like 5 times. here i go again

  • @kindpotato me, 55times!

    XD

  • how does this thing work

  • @kindpotato google "falstad astable multivibrator" and open the first link. It has a presentation and a description.

  • @WyB007 thanks. i really didn't expect an answer.

  • make your own channel

  • are those npn or pnp transistors. sorry not very good with elctronics.

  • @kindpotato pnp

  • PLEASE make your own chanel

  • expected a circuit on toast

  • i think this is one project any ordinary person can do I AM SO TRYING THIS

  • For my D.T. course work i am building a really accurate timer and was wondering if you thought that using a 555 timer or PIC would be better at creating the pulses. Many thanks

  • how does this work then with no chip?

  • Comment removed

  • @GameKing1379 wow u just took that comment up their and made it a fail, congratulations!

  • astabil multivibrátor

  • Those are some big frickin LEDs man

  • @DactaDork You know what they say about the size of a man's LEDs don't you?

  • @OtterWater528 that he has a brightly lit cutting board?

  • @fairyheli2 Exactly.

  • @DactaDork 10mm leds

  • @DactaDork Mother of all LEDs!!! XD

  • good job but it's not the simplest way to make it

  • What kind of LED's are those?

  • Those LEDs are huge

  • that was awesome

  • wirewrap. :)

  • DOWN LEFT IPAD!

  • please reply to me please

  • @matthewtchernev123 FUCK YOUR SELF SHEMALE

  • @youaresosolame you are a freaken shemale YOU LET YOUR MOM FLUSH THE TOILET BECAUSE YOU ARE TO AFRAID THE TOILET WILL OVERFLOW AND YOU SIT WHEN YOU PEE. FREAKEN BABY FACE. WHAT A FUCKING ASSHOLE BULLSHIT BITCH SHIT

  • whats the emmiter base and collector starting from the arrow on the top

  • I thought it was called a bread board because its white and has holes like bread...

  • Put a mouth on it!

  • wow this should be in a art museum haha

  • Comment removed

  • i made that in class, but on a real circuit board

  • Were can u get bread boards? Please respond anyone.

  • @minex7xgod

    try allelectronicsdotcom

  • @minex7xgod radio shack

  • @minex7xgod ebay, got mine for ~3$ + free shipping

  • Does anyone know what kind of music is playing at: 3:18 ? It sounds fuckin' awesome music to solder electronics with

  • i maybe do this project like this or do it on a perfboard but before i solder i will use a regular breadboard

  • he looks like the emcee from iron chef

  • could this be done using a panini?.....

  • very nice and clean circuit

  • he's kinda boarding me

  • This makes me want to nail down a 6502.

  • @nathanallan1 It makes me want to nail down a BGA IC.

  • Fuckin' awesome, man. Hardcore. :-D

  • how does it flash without a relay

  • ten points for dropping a hammer on the delicate components

  • I might actually use this technique to build a crossover inside a speaker.

  • more Collin's Lab's!

  • How about a good video on op-amps next eh?

  • a falta de una Breadboard esta bueno ese truco

  • i am a beginner and i have tried this like 5 times now and i always get the same result both the leds light up but they are dim and dont blink at all please help

  • thanks

  • what will happen if i change the caps with 4.7uf ones?

  • @ivhunter2 The LEDs will flash at about twice the rate.

  • is there any way to make them flash faster?

  • @ivhunter2 I think that if you change the capacitor value the leds should blink faster or slower. >10µF = slower <10µF = faster. but I'm not sure.

  • @ivhunter2 I think if u change the vales of the 100k resistors the LEDs will flash at a different speed

  • I always wondered where that term came from!

  • lol he wipes out a loaf of bred

  • can you show us how to make a small tesla coil please

  • ROFL awesum. looks like fun, but I think I will stick to my traditional solderless breadboard thanks. LOL by the way, speaking of led circuits, any free source I might be able to pull from, I want to make a circuit to light up my dash componants instead of replacing the old lightbulbs that never were bright enough in the first place. Would save me a ton of calculations if someone already had like a multi led circuit. I cant tell how much gas is left in my car at night lol.

  • that's a huge LED

  • That bread looks amazing. MMMMMMM.

  • Collin made a great point... I'd HATE to have to incorporate an IC to that... the pinouts on a lot of them are hard enough to figure out, trying to connect them without soldering would be a nightmare.

  • Next project: Bread boad toaster

  • thumbs up if you're not the 30900th viewer!

  • i would love to make this directly on my wall or door.

  • the only thing i actually made out of all the things he said we needed was a roach clip out of the alligator clips XD

  • Lol, I'M DISAPPOINTED, WHERE'S MY HAMMER :)

  • Nice!

  • OK, Collin, quit loafing around.

  • @vitejose haha great pun

  • They used to make high end audio equipment in the same way.

  • Nice Hammer

  • And you can hang it up on the wall, too.

  • excellent ending, what a slice!

  • I thought it was going to be bread too.

  • I thought it was going to be bread.

  • @Markypizz what I was expecting was the breadboard perfboard with stale bread below it to hold it there

  • not even joking this is how im doing ALL my circuits from now on

  • This is how I do it all the time! LOL! My dad thought me this cause he did all his project like this... He even built a battery-charger for alkaline batteries on a small plank!

  • 2:05 Possible swaztika?

  • you're great... and your music is good too!!!

  • lol 18 people were bread makers :P

  • my mum is gona knock my head down if I use her breadboard to make something like that.

  • my mum is gona knock my head down if I use her breadboard to make something like that.

  • that is great i maked voltage regulator 12v to 5v on bread bord

  • Hey, cool, it's an iPad.

  • Hey, when you started marking with the pencil, I thought you were going to draw out the whole circuit. Then I thought, why not stick the circuit diagram right on the board and nail straight through it? Much easier to lay out the circuit that way and a bit more illustrative of what's going on.

  • Love the IBM shirt! :)

  • i wonder who he is gonna hit?

  • Interesting! Definitely something to keep in mind for literal and colloquial "off the grid" work.

  • if i use 12 vollts?

  • Video, Music, Crumbs. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR!

  • Colin leaves us a bit more of legacy with each of his videos.

  • White LED's on woodgrain... bad feng shui :)

I like this, and all Make has done so far.

  • @frenchcalc screw you this guy is awesome too
