  • Guys,everytime i do any tricep exercises like skull crushers or lying pronated dumbell xtension,my elbow makes a cracking sound..it dosent hurt and i have no injuries b4..the cracking sound will be louder if i do it with heavier weights..im abit concern here...anyone knows why??

  • @GingerDaveM If it doesn't hurt it may just be synovial fluid forming air bubbles then popping, either way I would recommend you do some joint mobilization before any work out. This helps a lot to get the joints ready for exercise and helps to prevent injury. I find these especially beneficial for my shoulder, elbow and wrists joints

  • @KhairulAnw its okay, everytime that happens it means you're working hard. just make sure to get a louder crack..the louder it is, the better your triceps are gonna be.

  • I just do Flat, Incline, Decline, Chest Flys, and throw one of these in the end of it since the tricep is hit during the first 3 compound pressing movements.

  • I recently switched to doing my skull crusher's in an upright position and allowing the barbell to go behind my head. I think it allows for a greater range of motion. My tri's have never seen such gains.

  • 1 compound movement such as behind the head dumbbell triceps extentions/close grip bench press/ecc ecc + one or two isolation movements like cables or whatever = 19 inches arms...That's how I do it...

  • I don't understand how people can say you can shape a muscle. Try only going to a 90 degree angle when you do curls and pull-ups for a while and tell me your arm isn't deformed.   • @MastahMich There are 3 heads to your triceps, you're not going to see long term growth of the upper, lower and lateral head doing two triceps exercises.. There are many different exercises that specifically target different areas, you'd be very ignorant to only do close grip and dips.

  • @clearasil11 Sure you can shape a muscle! Just soak in warm water with a little bit of butter for 15-20 minutes and it'll become nice and supple - then shape it how you like!

    I've done this for most of my major muscle groups and I tell you, nothing attracts a woman like abs molded on an actual washboard.

Have you never seen a picture of someone with a 6/8 pack and their abs are different shapes and not parrallel? That's what causes it. But I guess you're a body builder and know these things right?

Some people can only have a 4 pack...even with very low body fat percentage as well as some people have crazy bicep peaks naturally while other people have more round peaks naturally....so some people cant help it. For example, Ronnie Colemans abs sucked but there was nothing he could do about it

  • no one needs this many exercises in one tri routine, do a couple of big ones for mass (skullcrushers / clow grip bench etc) then maybe one for shaping, one arm db extensions or some work with cables

  • If you want big triceps you should do muscle build exercises, and not so much of these shaping exercises. But for shaping this is great

  • @ThePantyDroper partially true, BUT one can focus on different areas of the tricep and other complex muscle groups and, thus, change the overall "shape" of that muscle group... for instance, doing all leg presses and no squats/hacks... you will likely have big UPPER quads and smaller LOWER quads.... seems to me that would be a different shape than a full, top to bottom, set of quads..

  • @ThePantyDroper . as to triceps... this workout specifically focuses on the inner (back) portion of the tricep that is often neglected since most people only ever do conventional pushdowns for tri's.... so, in that context, this is a workout that is focused and optimally bringing out the "shape" of the tricep which is a damn horseshoe.

The person who posted the comment sounded like he was reffering to manipulating the muscle into a certain look, sort of like how people think low weight/high reps will change the way your muscle forms.
