You should do bat drops. They will significantly increase the damage (although I only managed 4.5k with ganondorf).

i did ganon and got almost 1900, im just a little boy though. :(

i did my warlock punch then when it went behind me i did my turning warlock punch and i did my warlock punch again before it came so it would be ready and then i waited agen and did my up b and then i got my bat and went to the sand bag and used my bat.

i got 1889.6 i think i recorded it.

my friend got almost 3000ft using the bat throw twice and then over a twice and took bat and jumped and did down a and threw bat and did b.

koopa, if u do a bat throw reverse wp at the same %, u will get at LEAST 3000

wait a sec i got 194% damage. i jumped above the sandbag, throw the bat up, pressed B, then i stayed in the same place and did an upper smash, throw the bat up, did an almost fully charged upper smash while the sandbag was in between the bat and me, it flow to the left, came back, i jumped then pressed down and A, jumped, throw the bat up and the pressed B while i was in the air. and if you do all that you'll about the same as what you have. (probably less)

Using the Melee bat drop method, I barely got 3000 with Ganondorf (4 bat drops + meteor + single jump-throw up bat Warlock Punch).  I should try adding the reverse Warlock to see if it ups it by a bit.

Your method is pretty good though!
