  • There is no excuse for a debt of over 300 billion dollars (thats not including blowouts in their uncosted $43 billion dollar broadband plan) especially when the reserve bank has pointed out that this recession is MILDER than the 1990's. Rudd is full of excuses...Labor can not manage the finances of this country and i am truly concerned. Gen Y is going to have to pay very high taxes to pay all this debt back and support the baby boomers on the pension. We should all be worried!!!

  • labor spends money like a credit card..just buys, buys, buys BEFORE they get the income.

John Howard payed cash...HE LET US WAIT UNTILL HE HAD THE MONEY TO PAY CASH! ..ie..made sure the morgage was paid and had enough in the bank first!

    Wonderful job John Howard!

  • exactly right Sharon!

  • I really think you need to focus even more on the debt that all the kids have.

I think in every interview you need to say "If you're at home watching this interview with your family, take a look at your kids or your grand kids, or your nieces and nephews. They each have a debt of $9000. And by the time they grow up, and depending on how long Kevin Rudd is prime minister, they might have a debt of $10,000..$20,000 thanks to the balooning interest. Was that $900 you got last year really worth it

  • Too right, it would have a far greater impact than those stupid anti work choices ads they ran. Joe for PM.

  • Don't get me started on the last election campaign. The liberals were campaigning as if they wanted to lose. They kept blathering on about unions (which no one cares about) instead of focusing on the economy (which everyone cares about).

I think that if Kevin Rudd keeps going the way he is, and if the Liberals can keep the focus on the economy and debt (Rather than climate change and IR) then they have a good chance. They must not get stuck in the quagmire of those other less important issues.

  • Agreed, I think however that the libs knew that the next term would be a poisened chalice; especially with the sub prime crisis beginning already in the USA.

  • Yes, good point IIIIIoooooo. email Joe and tell him!

  • Why should I have to email him? Why can't he read the comments on his own youtube channel.

Hey Joe, why don't you post a comment so that we know you're listening? :-)

  • He's probably way too busy to interact on YouTube.

  • IIIIIoooooo, Two things..Joe does reply to comments regularly, sometimes it takes a few days cause he is replying to Facebook, Twitter and other sites as well.Secondly the unions are a worry cause firstly they have destroyed jobs with their new award systems especially in the hospitality industry and secondly they are funding Labor extreme amounts of money which makes elections very unbalanced in the funding stakes. Lucky Liberal has such a staunch voter base to compete with the Labor machine...

  • If Joe is too busy to read his youtube comments I'm sure he's too busy to read my email! Hopefully someone who has Joe's ear will read my comment and pass on the sentiment.

I understand the point about unions, but

having advertising campaigns telling us that unions have something to do with the Labor party isn't really imparting new information is it?

I think that people should be told that if their main concern is the economy and their job then the liberal party is their friend.
