  • 2:27 yes

  • The Stones are on Charlie's shoulders - nobody could play right behind the beat like Watts.

  • ian stuart :)

  • Rakymaky rocks!

  • I always considered "Let It Loose" as one of the greatest Rolling Stones´s songs. It has a timeless soulful flavour and a desolate feeling.

  • THE best stones song, and that is saying something

  • @Rossthewolly yes in my book one of the very best Stones song ever, and that's it

  • with any great band there are so many great tunes u never heard on radio. eg this one make me a pg on a clssic rock station. and that station is #1 My piont exile #1 let it bleed then stcy fngrs

  • The Beatles and The Stones were mostly friends, actually. Two different bands though, but both incredibly important for music.

  • This song has it all, it's so blusey, the rock, just everything and it shows who the Stones really are. It just flows. Musically and lyrically it is phenomenal. I LOVE it and always have! One of my all time favs.

  • I could never get sick of this album.

  • @ShhBrad1984 Me either - it's my fav.

  • 6 people dont like the music !

    The departed great movie !

The rolling stone mythical song band !

  • Yeah. Sgt Peppers was really "bouncy." Rubber Soul was "bouncy." Revolver was "bouncy." The White Album was bouncy. Abbey Road extremely bouncy. In the 100 Top albums rated by Rolling Stone Magazine the Beatles had 3 of the top 6 and 4 in the top ten. The Stones had 0. 1,000 years from now when they put out the definitive book on Rock and Roll The Beatles will be on the cover...........not the Stones. Wanna bet?? {I'll take your money.}

  • @kentucy9999 who cares fuck the critics. exile still the best rock album ever to me. the critics didnt like this when it first came out oviously the were smoking crack assholes. rolling stone magazine is a joke now anyway fuck it

  • @awhiteman1986 I love this album. Its my favorite Stones album. I love the Mick Taylor era with the Stones. Why bring up the Beatles in a comment? That was my point. What does this album or song have to do with the Beatles? It is like me saying "I always knew Abraham Lincoln was a better President than George Washington." Gotta tell you though. The Stones always were conscious of the Beatles. The Beatles were never conscious of the Stones. The Stones didn't register on their radar screen.

  • soooo underrated.

  • I love this band so damn much.

  • The Departed brought me here.

  • Perfeito!

  • beautiful song. love the Stones.

  • That's a cracking number. I love many bands but the Stones epitomise, for me, the true spirit of rock stardom. They got it all: the history, Altamont, etc, the image and the songs that carried a generation. So, okay, they're long past their best but Jesus, look what they gave us!

  • @1968dps They're not long past their best.. at least to me. They're still to this day the greatest band ever. But other than that I agree

  • I don't have any beatles music in any of my favorite videos.

  • i know yall gonna hate on me, but why does the stones kick the beatles ass? god bless and UP THE IRONS FROM LOUISIANA

  • @TATELANDDOG well they can hate on me all they want but i got a mind of my own and i use it well. The Stones are better ,always have been! I don't follow everyone else or let them think for me. The beatles are overrated VERY overrated.

  • @imaStonesFan The Stones are great. So are the Beatles. Both of those bands would agree wholeheartedly. It's stupid to tear down a great band to make another great band sound better, and it doesn't reflect well on you. The Beatles and the Stones did different things and did them extremely well. And we're all the richer for it.

  • @Cardelaneous Im not taring anything down. I just dont like the beatles and that's the way it is. If you like them fine but i dont and i do not want to be FORCED to not be myself and honest.

  • @Cardelaneous What happen to freedom of speech and expression. I only agreed with what this guy said and that he is not alone cause i too think the stones kick beatles ass.

  • @Cardelaneous they were very different bands, I agree. I like the Stones more, but no one can deny the musical relevance of the Beatles. History is history, no matter what your taste is.

  • @MultiDannyboy89 I would like to add though, that I think the Beatles were kinda lucky to gain the fame they did. They just, well, they caught on with the masses.

  • gracias stones por tanta magia!! sin palabras

  • On Twitter, Keith is the only one who say's : Welcome and ty for follow ; Great Stones

  • I think Exile is one of their best.

  • remember watching the movie and thinking i know that song!

  • Probably their deepest song. I wonder why it was ignored on the Stones in Exile documentary? They never talked about it.

  • @MrRobin14669 I didn't know this, but I suppose the reason might be the same as why they also choose to ignore it in all their concerts (The Stones never played it live): this album version is too perfect; don't want to even go there.

  • @lindseywagners Yes, it's a difficult song to play live. I guess Lisa Fisher and Bernard Fowler could provide decent backing vocals if the Stones choose to play it on their 50th anniversary tour, next year. Everytime I hear this song it brings shivers down my spine. Too gorgeous. Mick found inspiration for the first line 'Who's that woman on your arm, all dressed up to do you harm' while watching Brian Jones falling apart in the late sixties.

  • @MrRobin14669 The song isn't mentioned on the Exile dvd, either. Mick said this: "I think Keith wrote that actually. That's a very weird, difficult song. I had a whole other set of lyrics to it, but they got lost by the wayside. I don't think that song has any semblance of meaning. It's one of those rambling songs. I didn't really understand what it was about, after the event." He used "difficult" like you did, but is this the reason they've never performed it live?

  • @lindseywagners Where did you read Mick's comment on the song? Very interesting that he mentioned Keith wrote the song actually. But I do hear some resemblances with Sleep Tonight (a song Keith wrote for the Dirty Work album) especially for the gospel-like vocal arrangement. Maybe Mick wrote the lyrics in a subsconciously way. I guess it's difficult to perform this song live, because of the backing vocals and the way Mick sings it. I wonder if he can pull off the same sort of emotion on stage.

  • @MrRobin14669 The quote is from Uncut magazine. You can google it, because it won't allow me to post the link. Some quotes from other band members give the impression - it's really more than an impression - that Mick doesn't remember things, so maybe he isn't remembering correctly. I think it would be very hard to pull off the same emotion on stage.

  • One of Charlie's best Stones tracks, IMO.

  • First 10 seconds. BEAUTIFUL.

  • Yea,one of my favourite Rolling Stones song after Miss You and Gimme Shelter

  • Una de las mejores canciones del Exile on Main Streets que es uno de los cuatro mejores discos de los Stones. Muchos lo consideran el mejor, aunque a mí me gusta mucho el Let it bleed y el Sticky Fingers.

  • as a long time Stones fan...this is my favorite Stones song...it encompasses everything that makes them great/////

  • take the shine right off yer teenage boyfriend. the creep needs a knuckle sandwich.

  • It`s weird how nobody knows about songs like this. Everybody knows "Start Me Up" and "Satisfaction". Those are great, but for me, this is the rolling stones at their greatest.

  • @brandonlace todo lo que hicieron es rolling stones

star me up es mas rock and roll

pero let it loose tiene mas sentimiento, y no me canso de escucharlo....

exile es lo mas grande de ellos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brandonlace It's funny cause maybe one of their best albums has none of those. Exile that is.

  • @brandonlace yup!

  • As Billy Costigan is getting his hand shattered by Frank Costello.....

  • "In the bar you're getting drunk" is the best line Mick ever sung!

  • the commonwealth needs you

  • Greatest song ever.

  • they wouldnt know good, great music ,lyrics if it smacked em in the face, huh i said smack during a stones song

  • How can anyone give this a thumbs down?

  • Rolling Stones.....act accordingly.

  • "Are you gonna stop doing coke deals with your jerk off fucking cousin?!?!"

  • @WhySoCerial Great film indeed :D.

  • @WhySoCerial YES YES!!!

  • 'The Departed' brought me here

  • Beautiful Stones song. My personal favorite.

  • Exile was Stones most truest release,,,altho trashed when it first came out, later was recognized as probably their best,,,real, no hit making formula record, with nothing but real musicianship; they played for themselves on this one,,,sure glad they did,,,always my fave R.S. record,,,man, were the critics ever wrong,,,lot of them ate crow later on,,,

  • nicky hopkins

  • Shit... It's so beautiful !

  • Not a massive stones fan, but this song is amazing.

  • Billy Preston on piano, Mac Rebennack (Dr. John, to you) on backing vocals,

  • @sfshinz Nicky Hopkins on piano ...

  • @sfshinz Nicky Hopkins was also on this album wasn't he? I had the tape, then the CD, but not the most recent re-release. This track is amazing, ain't it?

  • @MetallicBill Nicky Hopkins played piano throughout; Billy Preston played piano (and organ) on "Shine a Light", which I confused with "Let it Loose" in my mind. Mea culpa.

  • Comment removed

  • Wasn't it Dr. John on piano?

  • Struggle to get into the Stones really but this song is something else.

  • @CrazyJoeDavola1991 believe me, there`s more than "Honky Tonk Woman" and "Start Me Up".

  • Is that Nicky Hopkins or Billy Preston on piano?

  • @Contractnik Nicky Hopkins played on this, I have an early demo, IIRC, Mick would add scat vocals while they worked out arrangement jams

  • The brass section delivers right on time. Perfect!

  • @BavonWW Totally. Bobby Keys and Jim Price "is Right."

  • unfassbar

  • @rockerantsch ...................exrissabof............that bad a s s gossip from their '72 tour of the states has been posted on-line...........it can be found at "adultery do re mi finnthecat"..........just press "see all" to find the 3 hidden comments.

  • I really like the Stones' songs in general but it's the very first I love

  • the best Jagger vocal performance on record.

  • Amen!

  • i love all that they have recorded, even before i've heard it, then it sends me into ecstasy

  • This is a fantastic song!.

  • I remember driving home at midnight listening to this song. Was really something, because I waspractically the only one on the road.

Street lights look prettier when you're listening to a song like this.

  • I remember driving home at midnight listening to this song. Was really something, because I waspractically the only one on the road.

Street lights look prettier when you're listening to a song like this.

  • Everything I love about the Stones is in this song.

  • I'm a big big fan of the rolling stones ... Listen it all time ? got all albums etc and for me its the greatest song they made .. Hopkins is fantastic here ? Bobby keys / Jim price too , and mick Jagger is on an other planet ... What a voice , what an arrangement , what great lyrics . Just untouchable song .

  • My sentimental FAVORITE Stones song....

  • The Departed

  • Nicky was with the Stones from 1966 til he died Sept 6th, 1994, when there wasn't much work, they let the master take over, Ian Stewart tinkle the ivories, they had bottom and top, no worries mate.......freak

  • this is fucking music

  • FUCKING, FUCKING , FUCKING MAJESTICAL!!! AND FORGIVE THE "FUCKING".

  • that 1 guy needs to slow dooownnn (and let it looose :D )

  • my breakfast song, aahhh,ok lets go try to live another wonderful day!

  • what a piano!!!!

  • My girl left me in 1972

  • I remember picking up this album and looking at it at Korvette's when I was a kid. I thought it was a weird cover. I had no clue what was inside the cover back then...

  • I spent a half day for listening the part from 2:00 to 3:00 man this horns and this piano.....FAR OUT ps sorry for my english ;) Stones for ever

  • @Stonesfanat dontever apologize 4 being a stones fan

  • The rolling stones....Not even gonna try to come up with any kind of bold statement about how great they were...only because words cant describe something as magical as the rolling stones.

  • This shows why Nicky Hopkins was certainly one of the greatest....

  • @boliverful1 If Stu is the sixth Stone could NH be the seventh?

  • @h34th3n Easily. But Nicky was all over the place, especially during that period. Listen to his playing on Lennon's Jealous Guy. It's beyond brilliant....

  • this reminds of the one girl i truly loved and let walk away

  • @arkhamcare maybe rolling stones is all about loving girls and letting them go. you never know

  • wow that guitar takes me places no weed can take me

  • En esta epoca mick jagger era demasiadamente sexy

  • Reminds me of Blackhole Sun by Soundgarden. This is one of the standout tracks for me. Piano actually works well with this, which actually reminds me of another song Handbags & Gladrags.

    Best Stones album imo.

  • a month or two, it never fails

  • Man, Mick's vocals on this album were the best he ever did, in my opinion. He claimed it was hard to sing at Nellcote because of the humidity, but maybe that brings out the best in him. Really emotional stuff. I recently favorited a Stones song from another era - some guy did a mix of two versions of "Dance" from Emotional Rescue, and it sounds phenomenal. You can check it on my channel if you want. Check the Rosetta West stuff too!

  • @mielazul Vocal were remixed at all @ Los angeles studio ...

  • GOOOO PHISHHHH

  • @katzman36

  • Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger, some face they'll never see no more!!!!!!

  • In the bar your getting drunk...ain't in love, ain't in luck!

  • What keyboard is that? Isn't it the same one rick wright uses in echoes?

  • @Astronomy25Domine The intro? its a guitar with chorus (very high gain) Well at least i play it like that

  • Fuck man.. I just bought the Vinyl reissue of Exile on Main Street. What a fuckin' album man Jesus. Music like this just is not being made these days. Mick & Keith = Rock n Roll.

  • The Departed is the reason that i love this song!

  • The ending is so cool

  • give it just about a month or two, it never fails!

  • One person thought thumb down meant download.

  • Why does everyone say "best rock and roll band?" They are the best band period.

  • frank :you know who i am?

    billy:no

frank: you spoke to my associate the other night there mr.french.

billy: is his real name mr. french??

    frank: (smiles) no!

  • how good is this song?

  • I was brought up on the stones, I am glad my parents educated me. Even now I am 26 and this song still gives me goose bumps!

  • @Dom2497 Cool! What's your favorite song of the Stones? Mine's either Miss You, Worried About You or It's Only Rock N Roll. I can't choose, lol.

  • Whenever I listen to this I think of The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and whenever I listen to that I think of this.

  • The only stones tune i like. But to be fair, i fucking i love it

  • In '77, my Dad gave me his copy of "Rolling Stones' Greatest Hits" when I was 11. Since then, I've acquired almost every album they've recorded. And...if this makes any sense - "Rolling Stones' albums are ALL BETTER THAN EACH OTHER," depending on your mood!!! A magical band! They NEVER cease to amaze the listener! Their songs bring out every emotion a person could possibly have, but, in the end, leave the listener with much "Satisfaction!" :) They enriched the listening world! :)

  • One person kept it tight

  • @Mr2010Jamie lol

  • How did I miss the genius of this track after 20 years of loving this album?

  • this album has everything i love about rock n roll. definetly top five albums of all time. masterpiece.

  • oh sure now 2 dislikes, haha fuckers.... other people thumbs up!

  • exile is like a girl that at first doesnt impress you. then after a little bit of time, you start to like her. a little bit later, youre in love with her.

  • @bacardibum that's exactly my thoughts on the album too

  • @bacardibum Well said, bacardibum. And a little bit later you realize you're not just in love with her, but she's the love of your life.

  • @bacardibum ---that is a great way of putting it, bro. I feel the exact same way about Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti too.

  • @DestroyerofSouls666 ......greetings dude..............long time no see.................you still like physical graffiti hey?..........i still prefer zoso..............are you still after that bad stuff from the stones '71 stop-over in los angeles..............it has been posted on "chantoozies wanna be up saw1110".........just press "see all" to find the 3 hidden comments..............hope you are well. regards.

  • @bacardibum Absolutely -- except in my case, it was love at first sight and i bedded her that first night...

  • @bacardibum exile was love at first sight back in high school!

  • one line from "man of costant sorrow",one of the best songs they ever did
