@Javapenguins TBS didn't license a re-release for the English dub, though it is something I might still push for in the next couple of years if no-one else steps up with a dub. A "flawless" AC3 5.1 soundfile and subsequent DVD was made and sent to TBS; the AC3 is currently unavailable, but I'll put it up again somewhere for people to download and use to make their own english copy of the movie (as long as they own the original japanese DVD).

@Makkoiurufu Firstly, you need the English 5.1 AC3 file which I need to upload somewhere for folks to download. Secondly, you need to use a PC program that can use an alternate AC3 file to the one of the disc; Windows Media Player Classic will let you do that. If you want to burn off a DVD with the english instead, that requires DVD authoring, the process you can find by looking it up on the internet using free software.

I really enjoy what you all have done for these characters. The minion wolf with the red mane is absolutely perfectly voiced! Gabu's voice seems very appropriate as well, but I wish Mei could've sounded a bit lighter and Giro could have sounded a bit darker. Other than that I am very pleased.

You know when Mei says "thank you" (7:57) sounds a little out, you put so much enphasis on the "thank" in the japanese ver. Mei says just "Gabu..." if I remember well... anyway the point is that Mei sounded grateful but modest, Mei is saying thank you but his mind is like "but still, wolves eat goats" and in the dub sounded like a careless thank you, like Thank you, we're correct even when all the world isn't agree" it kind of bother's me a little, I mean it isn't a big deal, just an observation

I have a question.

When Gabu and Mei meet each other in the barn Gabu's voice sounds a little mean I guess, but after they met a few times Gabu's voice changes to more friendly voice. When Gabu loses his memory his voice goes back to what sounded like in the barn. Did this meant that being friends with Mei has brought him more feelings and kindest to his heart?

Or did you never realize that you changed your voice your self just a little. Because to me it sounds different.

@blackhole73 Glad you noticed that, as it was intentional to try and have Gabu mellow out a little as time went by with Mei, and when he lost his memory to go back to sounding a little "meaner". Mei did help in mellowing Gabu out, I believe, but Gabu never was very aggressive to begin with, and did have a soft nature buried under the harsher exterior he put up to fit in with the rest of the pack.

@StormyNightRedubTeam That's exactly right! Also, notice how Gabu's animation is rigid and jagged at the start, but as he gets more "mellow", his eyes become round and he becomes cuter. Same thing you've done with the voice. :)

I would really, really recommend keeping the original pronunciation of Gabu's name.

Or at least softening the difference. I imagine it won't matter a lot to those who haven't seen the original~ Though the difference is a bit jarring for myself. It sounds like an entirely different name.

@SpiffyFox Well, it's simply the english pronounciation of the spelling of his name, "Gabu". As opposed to the japanese pronounciation of "Guh-boo-eh" for the same spelling. But even some of the wolves in the Japanese version say Gabu's name quite like the english pronounciation used in this version. At least I didn't change his name to Bill. Or Snookums.

Barry originally wasn't supposed to be Australian, but the fellow who was going to voice him couldn't finish the work for him, so Tustin ended up voicing him as well. Given the red mohawk and how outlandish Barry looks, an Australian accent seemed outlandish enough to suit him.

There must be sometthing rather wrong with your hearing if you're hearing "gay-boo". The names have been slightly westernised for the dub, but you would be the first to be thinking they are that badly pronounced!
