There may be cars tht are cheaper & faster, but are they as complete a package as the Veyron? Same goes for the LF-A. Toyota never made it to go head to head with any other car. They simply wanted to showcase their high-tech design & construction abilities that's all. The LF-A is a great car, exclusively. No 458. No Gallardo. No GT-R. Just LF-A.

What the SPEC-V is really designed for is the track, where it goes around faster due to its less weight (-60kg), stiffer suspension, upgraded differential and superior cornering grip from its softer compound track-focused tyres. So in straight line, the LF-A would still beat it.

The GT-R's ATTESA-E-TS AWD & DCT tech got off the line quicker than the RWD Automated Sequential Manual LF-A, but the more powerful 552bhp LF-A won the drag race, just. However, the 2008 GT-R in that video has 480bhp & does 0-60 in 3.5secs against the LF-A's 3.7secs. If that had been the 2011 GT-R with 530bhp & reprogrammed DCT gearbox & 0-60 of 2.9secs, I'm pretty sure it would have matched, or even beaten the LF-A to the 1/4 mile.

Whereas work on the GT-R started in 2001 with the first prototype shown in 2005 at the Tokyo Motor Show. So technically, Toyota (Lexus) did not copy Nissan's design because they started working on the LF-A first, before Nissan started the GT-R. It just happened that both companies had a similar philosophy behind the design of both cars, hence their resemblance.
