  • shit, if I could play that with real drums realtime... loveit

  • looks fun!

  • I DONT REALLY RATE IMPRO!!

SPOSE IF ITS DONE WELL IT COULD BE COOL IN A RAVE

  • what software and equipment is it that you use, ive always wanted to make my own dnb/jungle

    thanks.

  • software: Ableton live 6 on this video, and right now using live 8...

hardware: a small tapco mixer, a trigger finger (the surface with the big buttons), and a roland mc 307...

right now i have to add another laptop with rebirth, a vintage crumar synth and guitar effects to get some good noises from the synth....

  • that helped so much

    thankyou!

  • pretty good, could of done with some more mashups ... like I would of liked some more trigger shots and perhaps some pitch shift on a snare rush. Pretty good though ... And you could of had some other breaks to overlay but I guess it's just a freestlye .. .still a good performance (y) ... you do many live gigs or just mess around at home?

  • this routine it was pretty old, right now im working in some new set, and about gigs, here in chile this thing, like playing music in computers yts almost unknown, anyway there is some people that work this way

  • ableton ftw. I'm newb to it, but I'm trying to learn how to work with it for live performances. For track producing I use FL. But who cares about what I do, this comment should be about this video. So: this is awesome!

  • dude. awesome. this made my night. great video... seriously!.

  • use to twiddle tb-303 knobs as smooth as this but but took hours to drum and mash up amen break perfectly...nice equip u have these days where you can twiddle the feck out of a amenbreak!

  • non tablist huh?

    ...how does that work O_O...

  • no-turntables...

    thnx for post

  • haha I figured that!

are you using scratch live or somthin??

  • right now only ableton live...

but im goin to bought some new turntables this year...

  • yeah that's cool shit - one tip: press F11, which switches ableton to full-fullscreen, so you can't see the annoying windows-taskbar anymore + it looks better to people coming to you and asking what you are doing, just a little more professional, and - you have more space, which is cool

  • Hahaha i love the way u think! sadly i cant do that because mac doesnt allow u to go full screen cuz u need to make space for the dock. Haha

  • mac is overrated ;)

no I also have got a mac but never tried ableton live on that - are there major differences?

  • Yes there is! u cant go full screen! Haha. nah, not really much difference. I mean i dont know, i never tried ableton on PC before.

  • i got a mac too... actually 3 pcs and a mac... and theres is no difference between mac or pc on ableton... maybe less latency without any asio...

  • little to no lag.

  • Amen jungle and the 90's. Oh how I miss you.

Id love to make a track with amen break, but no idea how yet. :)

  • Try sampling it on fruity loops. It's nothing compared to cutting and sampling with hardware but I got some desirable results. :] I just started a couple of weeks ago.

  • Thanks. I think I might dl the software and give it a shot. :)

  • wena octavio ta la zorra la mescla...nos vemos le miercoles en el trota//llevaermos camaras pa subir a la pagina

  • Very nice...what did you use to make those amen beat variations?

  • basically... in sony acid i chopped the sample in 1/16, then rearranged the loop in 8 different ways, and put it ableton, then in ableton y use the ebat repeater to make those chirping and squeaking drum sounds

  • dooo i see marihuana plant behind teh curtain ??

  • here in chile... everywhere

  • hey you, your song or jam is really cool, i love dnb and jungle-sound but i haven't got the amen break, can you send it to me man? would be very nice, thanks

  • Thanks, I really enjoyed this! Excellent work.

  • You're very good.

  • that sounds cool. Not typical amen. There's more emphasis on the hats and rides like that song Szycag by venetian snares.

  • hey mate love your tune.

but where do you get amen beats?

    i can't find a vst anywhere:(

any help mate? andis the glitches made by dblue glitch?

  • for amen break... in youtube sample "the most famous 6 seconds on music..." its a documental about the amen break...

for vsts... on google put freeware vsts...

and this thing was made with the beat repeater... de dblue glitch its cool but its too automated for me...

  • first download hammerhead rhythm station.

and the amen break can you find under the name's giz 1 and 2 or just download with limewire the winstons - amen brother and a simple music editor and save it as an mp3 file

  • Or just look on Looperman (Dot) Com. Loadsa kewl DnB samples there, as well as loadsa other shizzle.

  • but i must critisize the critics who say things (considering we are talking about a jam here) who bloody say things like "at the start it wassnt very orignal" and the like", i really know VERY FEW rfreeform jams thatEVER started orignally, its ok, its normal, its evolution from things we all know, so we move it on it its forms its own life in our hands, so DO NOT WORRY EVER about that critisism,!

have you ever hbeard the shit that comes out

  • i aint really into "drum and bass" as such, mate BUT, knowing that this is an amen break style jam! this is totally fair enough stuff bro! really enjoyed, dont stop there!!

  • big room.

  • my workshop... and bedroom

    40 squaremeters...

  • roger that.

  • ^____^

  • I do like this

  • ok... definetly nice parts in it but at the end you've used way to much glitch/triggerfingers (am i right?)

but it's your own style so do what you wanna do. it's cool :)

  • very good video...

    and use of....

  • I remember the days I had Ableton before that fucking Copy Protection Violation thing popped up. Now it's gone forever.

  • search on bittorrent for the ableton live 7 working by air...

    even works on vista...

  • No good, it expires after a month or so still.

  • Pirate NOOB

  • Hey what equpiment do you use other than the software?

Im thinking of getting a Korg Electribe MX? i already own a MicroKorg and Ableton (but im totally new to it all)

    Any advice would be ace.

    Im a hug dnb fan.

  • in this video... the bass and the synth was from the roland mc 307 groovebox...

and now i use to produce a small toy monophonic keyboard... a headset mic... a old crumar keyboard... and a bontempi keyboard...

  • My advice would be to learn the living pants off of those 2 pieces. That should take about 6 years. Then you'll be better prepared to make an informed decision. (Cause in the end, you're the only one who can really know what you'll need/want.)

  • uhh wow i dont know what to say....it had its cool parts

  • SHIT TO

  • he's using ableton live

  • Is there any way I can get an MP3 version? this is pretty dope

  • pretty soon...

  • dvdvideosoft . com got a freeware Youtube MP3 downloader. Just put the link in and wait 1 Minute to get a MP3 on your Desktop :)

  • What program you are Using? :)

  • ableton live 6 with some plug ins, synth edit to make some plugins, reaktor 5...

  • Nice. I've also been noticing alot more videos of people cranking out tunes in windows.

That makes me happy because I don't wanna learn Mac ( or buy one, I'm Po' )

  • beautiful!

  • Go to *-Mart and get a couple of cellphone 'nonslip' pads for a buck or two. Cut 'em in half, and put under your TriggerFinger to keep it from sliding around.

  • Ableton lol

  • Ableton rocks, especially if you actually play instruments, also, you can run some tables through it, get a DJ and yourself going, and chop his shit real time. Can't really write beats too well with it, although it's possible, just a little clunky imho.

  • Nice live mixing, fun to watch because you seem so nonchalant about it.

  • mmmmmhhhh...nothing.

    ...only 2,3 pattern

  • nontablist m.d.

  • i recommend NI kontakt virtual sampler... in drum machine mode cut the smaple in slices, and its ideal to make some cool drum rolls and chirping sounds, also combinated with filters... its like a punch in your face...

  • parts of the amen break were triggered really fast...

ideal tomake drum rolls... but in this case were more like choping a deconstruct the original loop

  • Excelnte =) buena Oti

  • nice i like how you used the amen brothers break great job

  • Awesome! Can I get an MP3 or wav of that?!! :D

  • you added "circuit bending" sounds, gives a feel of squarepusher or maybe even aphex twin, great work, the amen break is a god send.

  • thnx for the props...

that circuit bending sound... are form live 6...

  • a jazz nontablist , very nice

  • yo what's that machine you're using? the one with the buttons next to your mouse?

  • roland mc307 groovebox...

sequencer with synth and other things...

    pretty nice piece of equipment...

  • or maybe your talkin about the m audio trigger finger...

    its a midi controller...

  • Gaybleton Live.

  • hahahahaahahahaha...

    gaybleton...

    hahahahajhahahahahaha

  • Nice improvisation. The beat sounds great.

  • amen beat yay it all makes sense

  • FUCK ABLETON! but i do have the amen break. sick shit.

  • what the hell are you talking about? ableton live is the fucking shit!

  • I love with what you did with that sample man. nice job, wish i had me some turntables...or even a cdj im stuck with the dr880 and me old ass piano.

  • Nicely done..thank you

  • riiigght....

  • nice- squarepusher influenced?

  • of course... i love squarepusher music

  • yes...

  • nontablist.. i like that!:-) way to keep it rEAl

  • Don't you just hate it when people point out gear just cause it's there......

    ABLETON LIVE lol

Is that beat repeat having a work out?

  • yeah ... i love beat repeater

  • that was real nice

  • You should post this on Newgrounds(Newgrounds dot com) Audio Portal, alot of people do that and you should too. :D

  • check nontablist music on w w w .myspace. com/ nontablist...

  • That blew me away!

  • you have mc-307 right there eh?

  • yes its a 307

  • Decent bro!

  • this vid is shit he doin nuffin its gud to play around n practice n shit but dont post a vid of u trigerin samps (badly) its borin only fing worth viewin here its mwl500 tip PRESS F11 nice 1 !!!!!!!

  • Maybe you will learn to spell when you find a brain... hopefully...

nobody on youtube wants to hear the shit coming from your mouth, nontablist is a great musician so you can keep your small-minded comments to yourself.

  • Dope vid...that dude telling you not to move around and stuff is wrong. It doesn't matter what you do, what instrument you play, what devices you use to make music...if you want to move then go for it. Everyone would rather see you getting into the music instead of just watching some dude press buttons. And a drum machine is an instrument...just requires different skills. As a percussionist I can stand behind that. Keep it up man and don't let anyone bring you down~!

  • bass line is sooooooooo boring, drums r jus premade loops :s s

  • premade loops... premade by me...

  • good stuff

  • SICK!!

  • i hate when dj/producers think that the hand movements make the music sound better, looks like he is moving more than really making music

please its not needed to look cool while playing with a drum machine

  • What on earth are you on about? It's about feeling the rhythm and getting into the track, not making it sound better. What an idiot.

  • futuristic, dark, hard and complex. pushing the boundaries of conventional music. artistry.

  • thnx for props...

    search for the nontablist-childhood video...

  • ok, as a non dj but a beat junkie(i'm a drummer) the only beef i have is when the samples get triggered offbeat, it just doesn't sound musical to me...and even more importantly, the groove is lost. ie- its hard to dance to(granted its super fast jungle, lol) cuz you get lost as to where "1" falls on..not to sound like a snob, just my thoughts...anywho, kewl sounds... viva la amen!

  • just a quick tip... tap F11 and you'll be able to see way way more in your live view.

  • Skills to pay the bills!

  • that aint no acid dub 2.....thats good ol' ableton live.

  • wow i like the sound man yo udo it good! post more

  • bollocks nickoguitardean. bollocks.

  • mad skillz, no hate intended. You make it look so easy and I know the time it takes to get to this level. What kind of software is that? acid?

  • Dub2 has no videos up yet. What's up with that????

You can tell someone to "Chop that shit the right way" but can't spin a couple of records well enough to even put up a mix on "You Tube"? Sounds like Dub2 is a lame, lame little boy trying to sound like a big man.

  • I stand corrected no hate intended. dub2 will hit the books and post someday. Keep up the artistry. I Love It.

  • sounds pretty good, keep up the good work!!

  • what did you assign your sliders to do

  • on beat repeater 2... where four parameters, but i dont remember exactly....

  • thats the sickest amen chop ive ever heard....mad props.

  • thnx for the props

  • where are your tables?

  • i sell them... but im goin for new ones soon...

  • giving squarepusher a run for his money, nice up!

  • The intro is just a looped amen, but after that it's cool . Nice job dude :)

  • I like it :-) nice chiled dnb track :-) keep it up :-D

  • thnx...

  • Don't hear dub2. He only shows how big laic he is.

@2:00 - 2:05 (loop in swing mode)- I like it very much!

    Respect 4 that freestyle.

  • thnx...

    i like that part too...

for bad luck... my laptop cause a physical error on the HD and i cant perform for a while...

but im goin for a new laptop... hahaha...

peace out and thnx again for your comment

  • it's sounds badly, i hope you have some backups of your tunes :-) good luck cul8 paradoxel - do you have some live acts?

  • It's easy when you have the machines do if for you aint it? No creativity, no time spent thinking about a damn thing!! Just push buttons wow!!! Chop that shit the right way lil bitch!!

  • hahaha...

i have better tracks... this one is just an improvisation over a break... to see how is it works...

    anyway thanx...

  • constructive. welcome to the new millenium, go pimp your horsedrawn wagon gramps!

  • What programs do you use I want to do this stuff.

  • to make music...

ableton live 6, reaktor 5, acid 6 (to rearrange some loops), sound forge, samples lots of them and lots of plug ins.

to play live, a laptop with ableton live 6, trigger finger midi controller with enigma to arrange some new control patterns to play avery song, a little 5 channels tapco mixer (its yellow and warm... cool mixer... and its yellow), and an old roland mc-307 groovebox with lot of classic synths and the omnipotent tr-909 and tr-808 drum patches....

  • amen break... a classic on musical history

  • yay! Amen breakage! Again! it's the easiest way to make some DnB quickly

heh... I'm into prog. trance, just so you know, so I make fun of DnB at times, though I do like to listen to it on occasion.

    Nice Ableton work, lol

  • other part of the parameter were with the keyboard, cut one of the loops in little pieces arrange everithing in repeat launch mode, and 1/16 timing...

  • Cool. What parameters do you set to in the Beat Repeater?

  • i dont remember... was 4 parameters... if i can repair my laptop...
