  • Nice.

  • QUE LINDO!!

  • @jwljpmrrgh Gracias for watching.

  • thats one of the best electric kits ive seen!

  • Very good! Perfect!

  • @lsandrapereira Thank you.

  • Great drumming pal.You really nail it.

A maybe controversial opinion of mine is this;I dont believe it's Ringo playing that drum solo.I think it's Paul.I listen to the tracks that Paul played drums on the White Album(USSR,Prudence and others).and i'm struck by how similar in style they are. You're a drummer dude you should check it out

  • @Kiln99 Thanks. No controversy there, as Ringo's on the drums for this track according to the Abbey Rd log books (see the description of this video). Paul is an adequate drummer, but he doesn't attack the drums like what's on here. I heard the USSR isolated drum tracks and deleted them from the rest of the tracks for my cover of that song. Why do you think Paul's drumming may sound like Ringo's, could it be he was influenced by Ringo after so many years of playing alongside his groove?!

  • @rhythmantic Maybe your right, tho i'm not so sure. It's not so much the actual solo itself,it's the instrumental section afterwards.Something about the high-hat work is very un-Ringo,if you know what i mean lol?He did have,by his own admission,an avowed hatred of drum solos.Could that have been because he couldn't actually play them? Also,i think it's widely known that Paul was The Beatles by the time Abbey Road was recorded.Nobody else cared.Well, maybe George too....begrudgingly lol

  • @Kiln99 Ringo is the drummer on this song as the playing and the log books attest to.

  • @rhythmantic Ok Rhythmantic,it's only a theory of mine and a bit of fun.McCartney was known for his late night solo overdub sessions at the end of The Beatles career you know. That's all i'm saying ;-)

  • @Kiln99 Right! (in a Brit accent) :D Thanks for the dialogue.

  • Wow! Thumbs up! :)

  • U make the best beatles drum covers

  • @TheAwesomegamereview Thank you, appreciate that.

  • ooh... you're amazing!!

  • @jujuloloyoyo Thanks, appreciate you viewing this vid.

  • Great work Mr. Starkey

  • @ape6582 Thanks

  • Has anyone ever told you that you look like Eric Clapton?

  • @HEmmerich89 Yes, first time back in the 70s when I had long hair and a beard, then many times right here on YT.

  • Hey! That's great! I also like your drum sets, pretty cool! ;-)

  • @gnossticc Thank you.

  • Best cover I've heard on YouTube. Keep on doing the great work.

  • @1023rocker Wow, gee, thanks, appreciate you checking it out.

  • NICE COVER MAN GOOD WORK :D

  • @apple666ification Thanks.

  • The cymbals are nice and loud here...mmmm. Are you doing this video as a tribute to Sir Paul's stand at the Grammies?

  • @powergirl901 No I didn't, this video was uploaded 3 months ago and today I know nothing about Paul's stand with the Grammies as I don't watch TV and very thankful to be out of touch with pop culture and mainstream media propaganda.

  • Comment removed

  • @rhythmantic Amen sir. I'm rare with TV myself, and when I do watch it it usually involves something with classic rock or just about anything that has to do with good music.

  • @rhythmantic I completely respect your feelings about TV. A bar aimed its TV out to the pedestrian walkway, and that's how I saw it. The clips may be on You Tube if you're interested.

  • @powergirl901 Hey thanks, yes, I'd be interested in checking that story out.

  • @powergirl901 Hey thanks for the tip, I got to see the great performance on YT of this song by Paul with Bruce Springsteen, Joe Walsh, Dave Grohl among others. Thanks again. See what I miss becasue I don't watch TV? :D

  • @rhythmantic Just wait for someone to tell you about it! :) That's actually a more social option: "no, I don't know what happened. Tell me about it." Usually then, the news actually is important, not just more corporate dis-information.

  • @powergirl901 Exactly! That's how I found out about the Twin Towers on 9/11

  • u never seem to fail me man :) hey quick question.... what kind of drums would you recommend to get? cause i wanna get one and i dont mind the cost i just wanna know what u think is good cause ur like awesome :D

  • @animeENGLISH24 Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. Are you looking for acoustic or an electric drum kit?

  • The Best Drum Solo EVER

  • I'd say ringo did a great job on this track considering the only way he would play the solo was after he get new heads for his toms lol. Good job and keep up the good work!

  • @Soadownz45 Thanks, appreciate it. This was actually not a solo when it was recorded, the guitars, bass, and tambourine were taken out after the fact thereby making it a drum solo. (The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions - log: Weds Jul 23 1969)

  • @rhythmantic So was it supposed to essentially be just another one of Ringo's famous fills?

  • thank you so mutch. i watched this video over and over until i learnt the solo. so thank you ;-)

  • @FLEXskateboards Very good, glad it helped. Be sure to check out the link to Rob's channel where he explains the solo in detail and where you could get the drum chart to it.

  • @rhythmantic i did check out rob from drumstheword but to be honest your video helped more because i hate it when people just talk about it. i prefer to just watch your covers if i ever need to learn something. ;-)

  • @FLEXskateboards Yes, I understand, I'm that way too.

  • hi, greetings from mexico. You rocked your drums as great as always i love that ringo's solo, and you did it unforgetable haha, keep goin'! Get a view of my channel, im afficionate to guitar and love beatles perfect combination haha. Peace!

  • @LevaRapero Thanks, appreciate it. Yea I checked out your cover of Two of Us, pretty good. I learned that one on guitar, it's a fun one to play. Good to hear from Mexico, greetings from California.

  • Very good!!! Except the crash sound is a little too bright and I think it's played with 8th notes.

  • @RuberHammer Yes, the ride should be a wash sound (crash/ride). That's the part of the cover that bothers me every time I hear it, but it's already posted. Thanks for watching.

  • how many BPM is the bass beat on the solo?

  • @driftersoul It's 1/8th notes played at a quater note pulse approximately 124 bpm. Why do you want to know?

  • @rhythmantic you do such a great work covering a legendary drummer like ringo starr

  • @lukkinhas98 Thanks. Ringo was why I picked up drums, he was my first influence and l learned from him.

  • Also may I request you to do Hey Jude? - Mike

  • @MikeJamz00 You can, but it's not on my list which is about 200 + left to cover. Perhaps after I've completed it, I may get to it. Thanks.

  • Sal I've gotta question.

How do you make your videos perfect?

  • @MikeJamz00 I take it you mean the production quality. You'll find that answer on my channel page under "About Me:" in the RECORDING METHODS and VIDEO PRODUCTION sections. Hope that answers it.

  • CONGRATULATION!

  • @nikkyshears Thanks man. Any relation to Billy Shears? :D

  • @rhythmantic jeje, Yes, My name is Billy Shears :P (well, Nikky Shears xD)

  • This is AWSOME! You truley could be a supa-sta!

  • @rhythmantic Very Nice man :)

  • GREAT WORK! :D

  • Any chance you play You won't see me? I just don't get the drumming of it.

  • @eggman1979cooa Yes, I've covered that one, it's on my channel.

  • This was GREAT! Thanks for posting this. Your attention to detail made this sound perfect, just what audiences want to hear.

  • @GROTDRUM Thank you, and I appreciate you commenting and letting me know that.

  • Great one.Can I please ask you where do you take the drum sheets for those songs? It would be of great help for me if you could tell me

  • @R0bY07 Thanks. The link can be found in the description of this video where you could get the drum chart for this tune.

  • Awesome cover! You got the timing just right at 1:46 when the drums come back in, very good.

  • @beatleforce1 Thanks so much. Well I did practice and use a very accurate drum chart to get it just the way Ringo played it. I didn't want to just do my own thing or what I thought Ringo was playing, but what he actually played.

  • @rhythmantic Yes and you played it just as good as ringo as well!

  • Comment removed

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Drum Charts would do!

    Where do you get them?

    Are they free?

I am interested in the entire Beatles catalog.

I've gotten pretty good at Abbey Road Drums.

Just trying to see if I can make any decent recordings.

    I LOVE The Beatles!

    You totally rock.

Thank you so much for your time.

  • @whitesommer Please check out the description of this video and you'll find the link to more information on drum charts, some are free, some are for sale.

  • oops!

    Not meaning to confuse.

I saw on that site he was selling TABS.

I was wondering if you knew a good source of FREE TABS?

Thanks, I think you are great.

    I'm actually a guitar player.

It would be such a buzz to play with you.

    Rock On!

What state/country do you live in?

  • @whitesommer I got this chart on Rob's channel for free. Sorry, but I don't use tabs, only drum charts if I do, and so wouldn't know where to find them. Yea, one of the disadvantages of YT is we can't jam together.

  • Awesome! Where do you get those wonderful drum TABS?

    Can I download some?

  • @whitesommer Thanks. Check out the description of this video and you'll find the link to the chart.

  • I don't know why, but when you were 'conducting' and showing us the sheet music, it made my day.

  • @Thedobeymaster Thanks for sharing.

  • That's the way to pound those pagan skins, Ringo! Good job sounds great.

  • Not over played..well Played!

  • Man that was awesome Sal...I would bet that Ringo solo is probably of of the most identifiable. Ringo's signature solo....You had the detail down pat right to the accents of the hi hats. Nice going !!! Nick

  • @readyeddy101 Thank you Nick. What inspired me to re-cover this was after seeing Rob Litten's tutorial on it on his drumstheword channel. Check him out if you haven't, (link's in the description) he's a gifted and sharing teacher of the drumming of well known songs. My first cover had the correct rhythm but the incorrect tom voicings and stickings. So I used Rob's chart to practice it and then play it. Thank you for watching.

  • @Sal:

Thanx Sal. The only reason I really know about all three of them doing lead work here is cause I saw Sir Paul and his band do it LIVE. When I went back and listened again you can really hear who's doing what. George has the best Guitar Vibrato of the three, Paul's have a cool structure and John's are simple and IN YOU FACE R&R

  • @dcrimmen Yes, that description of their style is well put. I saw Paul in 2010 at AT&T park, I don't recall if you played this song, then a month later saw Ringo & his All Starr band at the Mt Winery in Saratoga.

  • I love the drum library, but the mapping is terrible to work with and the hi hat articulation is a real bitch.

  • @BarryDennen12 Yes, the drums sound great, but it's clunky software.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Excellent playing, Sal. Thank you for mentioning me and I'm honoured you found my video so useful!

    Rob

    DrumsTheWord

  • @DrumsTheWord You're welcome Rob, thank you for the chart. Your channel and teaching are a great resource for us drummers. I tend to be lazy when it comes to transcribing so I appreciate your efforts in that area.

  • Yo Sal the "Conductor" ;-)

I LOVE it. For l you guitar players out there that's Paul, George AND John trading Lead Guitar riffs durning Ringo's solos. I would LOVE to have been a fly on the wall to see it

  • @dcrimmen ah you picked up on the conductor bit, thanks Dave and for sharing who played the solos. I don't recall the order of who plays where, who goes 1st, 2nd, 3rd. I'll have to look that up and add it to the video description. Thanks as always bro' for checking out me stuff.

  • Great choice for a Beatles drum part

  • @TonyHickschick Yes, Ringo did very well. It's a simple solo, but very cleverly done and very melodic.

  • Great cover again as always Sal, love that you have covered so many Beatles songs, Im pretty sure i've watched all of them and I cant wait to see more come in the future. By the way is there any chance you could cover Liverpool 8 or Photograph by Ringo Starr? I think I have already mentioned this but you may not have seen it:P

  • @randomhoochie Thanks Jacob. I'm not into Ringo's solo stuff. If I were to cover one it would be It Don't Come Easy, and I forgot about it so thanks for jarring my memory.

  • @rhythmantic Alright then, and no problem. But if you have the chance to you should give his song Liverpool 8 a listen, its about his whole life and career, so its a pretty nice song.

  • everytime somebody plays this i confuse the solos from wont get ffooled again its a bit simmilar

  • I love this! You nailed it. I listened to Cheap Trick's version and the don't do it as well as you! Sal wow!

  • @SQDLVR Wow, Cheap Trick, huh?!, I'll have to hear that. Thanks my friend.

  • @rhythmantic Sal, Cheap Trick released a cd/dvd of them covering the SGT. Pepper album and parts of the Abbey Road medley was their encore. I saw it live in Las Vegas, but you play it so much better than Bun E. Carlos and I do think he's an excellent drummer. Yet you nailed it, note by note!!

  • @SQDLVR Eman thanks for that, and perhaps I'll someday hear that recording from CT. I was able to nail the part because of Rob Litten's transcription chart I got from his drumstheword channel. He's very accurate and I tend to be lazy about transcribing drum parts because I can't hear the track isolated.

  • @rhythmantic Sal I think it maybe on youtube..I think it's Cheap Trick Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End. Yeah you rocked it though. The best cover I've ever heard. I heard some Beatle cover bands and they don't even come close to what you did!!

  • Hey man, Love your covers. Amazing. I think you prove how underrated Ringo Starr is. I have watched every single one of your Beatles covers! All of them fantastic. Keep up the good work!

  • @CarnageElitePro Wow, thanks a lot for checking out my Beatles cover, much appreciative.

  • YES YES YES!!! great cover keep it up!!!!

  • @TheArabmobile1 Right on!

  • awesome

  • @trecoolx12345 Thanks
