Looks like about 7 to 8 feet long. I remember watching Jaws and the guy said you can guess their full length by looking at the length between their dorsal fin and tail fin as its popped up out of the water. Plus as it swam by the kayak it made it easier for me with a reference.

Shark wasn't 'attacking' the kayak at all, but the guy did try to swing at the shark, so maybe the title should be "KAYAKER TARGETS SHARK". As a certified Divemaster, I know that sharks are curious animals. No doubt the kayaks were unusual for the shark, so it approached out of curiosity. I've been circled many times by sharks, but never bitten. -If you're fishing, chances are, the bait adds to the interest of a shark, not the kayak or the person themselves.

I dunno guys that water looks about as clear as chocolate milk. The shark prob sensed the kak but definitely wasn't targeting it as a food source. A little tap with the paddle is not going to hurt it but as was stated just might piss it off.Great fun video thanks for sharing it!

They are not as aggressive as a lot of other species, however, it could have knocked you and your canoe on your ass. I have gone kayaking many many times down here in South Florida and that has happened to me a few times actually. Yesterday I went kayaking all over and didnt run into any only manatees and today either. funny hum.. Last month a small bull shark about 5ft hit my kayak once. The first time he was coming straight at it and almost hit the kayak. Second time he came back I hit him with the paddle on the head and he just left me alone after that.
