Who came out with this song first? Martina or Michelle. I've only heard Martina sing it.

From what I understand, this is the only video for this song and was used as the official "music video" for Safe in the Arms of Love", in 1995

Martina's video is good, lots of different performers (which was shot in the summer of 1995 at the training school for Cirque De Soleil in Montreal, Canada) Michelle's version is much more rock-influenced, Martina's is stripped down and slower! Both versions are good!

I have been a great fan since "Take It Like a Man", but this and "He Would Be Sixteen" are quite simply superb songs brilliantly sung. What a wonderful gift to have a voice that caters both for Country and Blues. I really cannot think of anyone who has the depth of voice that she has. Kathy Mattea; Janie Fricke? - both great singers whom I greatly enjoy, but Michelle Wright has a strange and fascinating quality to her voice.

Many, many years ago was the first time I had ever heard this song and Bailee and The Boys were singing it. I have loved it since then. You never hear of them anymore but were fantastic. I really enjoy this version too.

i went to a small concert of hers, she was a little bounce of energy and fun performer, i like her voice, miss her from Country Radio. her company told me several years ago she is dedicating her time with her Charity in Canada (working with special needs kids)

Patricia Conroy did not record this song... You may be confused with "My Baby Loves Me (Just The Way That I Am), released in 1992. Martina McBride covered the song in 1993 and hers was more successful than Patricia's...

Martina covered "Safe In The Arms Of Love" as the first single from her third album, "Wild Angels", in 1995..

If anyone wants to find this song, it is available on Michelle's 1994 album, "The Reasons Why", but the album was only released in Canada! Michelle is the one of the best out there! She just doesn't get the recognition she deserves in 2010! Michelle was very popular back in the day when Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Kathy Mattea, Suzy Bogguss, were popular!

Michelle is much better at this than Martina McBride..

Sadly, Martina has recorded at least 2 (to my knowledge) songs by Canadian artists, and few people realize that they were done (in my opinion) better. There is this song, and then My Baby Loves Me (just the way that I am) by Patricia Conroy.

Michelle had done such a great job with this song, much better than Martina McBride. I read that Arista released it in Canada, but not here in the USA. What a shame, her version is so cool.
