@kjaonline All cards will be unlockable by playing game, no need to purchase anything but expansions which will expand gaming experience with other ways than giving new cards as well. Expansions are also only onetime purchases so they aren't milking your money making you buy boosters
This looks like they actually took the full deck customization out at the last minute.
Looks like: Select from 3 starters in beginning(?) and customize...
But they didn't go into the "customize" aspect.
Also, the tabletop graphics are different. The flames no longer have the "heat" effect and such.
Oh and the decks aren't 100% balanced. The elf deck has much more synergy than the rest of the decks but if there was an elf and a merfolk deck in the game, I think the decks would be more balanced.
I'm new to Magic. I bought the Xbox game first then I went and tried MGO. The Xbox games has problem, but MGO is even worse. The MGO interface is so ugly and confusing. For the money they must be making on selling virtual cards, they really should invest more in development. If MGO was like the Xbox game, but with deck customization, I might actually play. For now, I'll stick to playing on Xbox Live and playing in real life.
Is this footage old? The interface doesn't look that in the released game.
The game is decent, but could have been a lot better if it was more thoroughly test. There are obvious multiplayer issues (players can pause the game indefinetely), gameplay bugs (regenerate bug), and the interface is confusing at times.
if u like magic add me as a friend and we can discuss magic ^_^ mostly cuz im bored but still, and pm me what color(s) u use in youre signature deck, i use white and blue
too bad that so far the game is really bad and not worth the $10 imo. virtually no customization and the challenges are fairly easy and you don't get anything for beating them, aside from some dumb achievments. hopefully they will release some new sets and add full customzation for the decks to make it fun and worthwhile.
It's not bad, everyone expected to be a MTGO, but it's an arcade mode, it can't have every card in the game.
Maybe they will add the Full Customization, but that wouldn't be good, rookies that are playing to learn will be smashed by the Old Players, that made their Deck at full power.
if you like magic it is very much worth it if major deck customization was allowed the game would not be as balanced and noobs would get there asses kicked even more. this keeps a challenge when playing on live and you never know they may be working on updates...
if anything they should at least make it so you unlock cards via online play, instead of being forced to play against the AI over and over again just to fully unlock all the decks -_-
It's an arcade Game, so it doesn't have every card, it has some Pre-made Decks(8 i think), and you play with those to unlock cards for those Decks, every deck has 15 unlokeable cards.
More Decks probably will be aviable in the future.
Actually it's not that bad, also, it's an arcade Game, you can't expect it to be a mini-MTGO, that wouldn't be good for wizards, this game it's for new players that want to learn the basics without the need to put togheter a deck and all that, you sit and play.
how the heck do i turn of the circling movement in the background at the beginning..its getting me dizzy!

tbh, it's practically impossible to play, and the difficulty settings are a bit indecipherable, it's not a simple 'Easy,Medium,Hard'

its actually 17 unlockable cards, but it does suck that they can only be added and they are also the only ones that can be taken out too.

I can't believe they don't allow deck editing. that is really lame.
jeffwads 2 years ago
yeah, you'd think they'd at least have an "advanced mode" for people who understand how to build proper decks.
