Of course, Dan wouldn't hate Fei as much if she was still alive... but... I personally didn't like this sidestory very much to be honest. There are already people hating Fei for what he did, he already blame himself for the loss of Timothy and other people... killing Alice wasn't needed, it was just a way to avoid the love triangle that was first planned.
Sigh... I'm desperate for more grown up (and ass kicking) girls in this story, seriously. There were not enough of them (if at all).
@RadicalDreamer17 It would have been really interesting, considering Alice was in love with Fei. It doesn't seem like Fei returned those feelings, even though he goes along with Dan's little plot at the beginning, just before you go to Citan's house.
What about Emeralda after her bit of "growing up"?
I think he did return them... I think it's confirmed in Perfect Works that she was a bit more than a friend to him. But it wasn't meant to be.
I think Elly and Fei can fall for other people (for example, I think it's possible that Sophia might have had some sort of a crush on Krelian *and PW says that Lacan first thought they were a couple*, but then she met Lacan again and she completely fell for him)... even if they're meant for each other in the end.
Emeralda never had any story as an adult... but I guess she would have been pretty interesting and kickass in a sequel. Actually, I think some little girls in Xeno could be interesting and/or strong female characters as adults (Midori, Maria...). And I always felt like Margie was stronger than she appeared (I think she was going to be playable at first... and her weapon was pretty awesome ah ah...). Also, it seems Sigurd has a cousin we never heard about in the game.
That cousin might just be Margie. Seeing as Bart and Sigurd are half-brothers and Margie is Bart's cousin it's possible. Provided Margie is Bart's cousin on his fathers side.
As for Maria, Emeralda, etc. I get the impression that they planned on fleshing out many characters but couldn't due to budget constraints. Rico seems like another example, they implied his father was the Kaiser in Kislev, but then never did anything about it and Rico just sort of fell out of the story.
I'd have liked to see those characters get fleshed out more as well, but with their budget they barely got through the second half of the game as it was. Not that I'm complaining about that, it was still phenomenal.
Squaresoft clearly didn't have their priorities straight. They should have pulled some funding from the Final Fantasy franchise and given it to Xenogears. It's not like people wouldn't buy the FF game anyway. Oh well.

Actually a prequel could work, I mean we're told about a handful of Fei and Elly's past lives, maybe there were more we weren't told about that it could be based on.
@Vladislak I honestly don't want to see a remake of Xenogears, nor a prequel(Xenosaga exists) Xenogears was the absolute most perfect game I have ever played. And I don't want to take the chance of Enix making it worse, as we know they have degraded over the years /: They made some fantastic games in the past (Well, Squaresoft did).. But their present just isn't up to par.
Well I agree that it was pretty much perfection, and that Square-Enix is a pathetic shadow of what Square once was. This is why I would only accept a prequel/remake/sequel if it was done by the original Xenogears team.
But yeah, that's assuming the members of the original team haven't gone down the same road Enix went down.

If she was kept alive... it would have been interesting to see her wanting to free herself, be independant, have a friendship with Yui, not constantly follow Fei around and move on with another guy without too much drama, help people the best she could.

If you've got the game and played it, you'll know that Weltall was being chased by three enemy Gears. Weltall was stolen and basically a battle took place in Lahan. The pilot was killed, as you can see in the animated cutscene before this, where Fei gets in Weltall, you can see the pilot's body on the ground.
Well, Id is the one who "broke" something. It's highly unlikely that Id was upset about Timmothy dying, seeing as he wanted to destroy everything at this point.
