What is it with Calgary fans? How do you call it a goal when nobody on the ice called it, there was no stoppage in play and even Gelinas went to the bench and gave no indication he thought it was in. No Calgary player on the ice made any motion or said anything immediately after the play to indicate they thought a goal had been scored. It wasn't until CBC does some very slow mo video playback and adds a computer generated re-angling of the view that some Calgary fans think they were robbed.

I lived in Calgary during these series and before the Flames made it to the Finals it seemed that HNIC did not want the Flames to make it. This stayed even in the Finals but obviously less. Perhaps this feeling was simply eagerness of my youth and me thinking everyone was against us. I do know that most people wanted the Flames to win, though. unlike other game 7's Tampa Bay the WINNING TEAM deserved it, Calgary had no fire power, Khabibulin was a brick wall, and Kiprusoff could only do so much. Unlike the Oilers game 7, atleast Kipper gave up goals most goalies give up.

actually the cup should've went to calgary cause the refs didnt count a game winning and cup winning goal in game 6 but instead they didnt count it so tampa came back to win in oveertime, and eventually won the cup, so yeah flames should've won

yeah they were the first seed. so i guess it was theres to lose. but i just pisses me off how i saw that in june when the cup finals were there. that they went to the beaches of tb and almost no one had ever heard of the team or knew about the stanley cup being played there. i just like teams that have great markets and who have dedicated fans to win the cup. tampa bay had to BEG people to come to the games. its not that i hate tb. they just dont really need a hockey team
