I would like to know a bit about the people in the front rows of the audience - not all your deepest detail of course. But you were there, and now you're nudging 50, maybe already there; you're married, kids have mostly grown up, and you work for the council in Vic or whatever. Were you there in that audience? What of your life now? Are you game to share a little with those of us who also lived those times, loved (and still love) that music, and fantasise about what might have been..?.thanks :)
i was born 1984, its a sad fact for us that with the rise of music being used more so for controling means...detracting from its full potential, i myself have been inspired by music of past and long to feel truth in a expression which the vessel of music can bring. makes me wonder... AC-up there in my book!
WOW!!! if you do not know what this song is about or the history, find out.....it will mean so much more if you have had a friend or family effected by drugs!!!LOOK IT UP.
love this song i only heard in the late 90's and i still love....the singer here has a fantastic voice sad to hear what had happen to the groupies...but yeah this band is truly awesome...
I remember them at school. I gave Reyne a detention for being a gobby git. Guy (RIP sadly) was too smoothe too move. His brother, Bill (drummer), was the nicest. He was my Sgt in the school cadets. Lovely bloke. Binks and Brad were nice fellas, too. Shame about Binks' accident and Brad has gone the way of all flesh, too, sadly. Been away from Oz for 30 yrs and wish I was back. Great place.
Every time I hear a Crawl song I think of Guy, such a terrible loss that he died so young and needlessly. And then think of Brad and then Simon who can no longer play the guitar due to brain damage. Tragic the way these guys went. Again yes an awesome Aussie band who never got the worldwide recognition they deserved.
Man I remember where I was, what I was doing, who I was with when this song came out. An icon of great Aussie rock music. I really miss those awesome Aussie bands. I miss countdown. Sh!t I even miss the girl I was with at the time. Thank heavens for yt to help us remember all those good times.
Am from NZ was 15 when I heard this track, loved it still play it around the house n in the car. My wife needles me about who the band was, I say " Hey that's Australian Crawl" she says who?? Still good after all these years. I think 2 of the guys are dead now, the lead singer definately. Many thought that James Reyne fronted the band but no, him and Guy sound similar but well...thank you for posting.
