  • you belong in the hellboy basstrombone masacre vid

  • 68 000 views !!!

  • Is that how you all fart in Holland??? Let us German boys show you how it's done!!!

  • That sounds just like the same sound during Frank Zappa's "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow" when he says :

"He took a dog-doo sno-cone and stuffed it into my right eye...BAP! ...

He took a dog-doo sno-cone and stuffed it into my other eye... BAP! ...

an' the Husky WeeWee I mean the Doggy WeeWee has blinded me...

    an' I can't see...

    temporarily..."

  • ewwww....

since when did girls fart with a boner??

  • I prefer hellboy.

  • not only bass tbn players like pedals! tenors do too... i love it! always makes the trumpeters envious and the horns try them too but it sounds like a farting cow!

  • I would definitely stick my pecker in her.

  • She sounds like a tuba player, doesn't she, gang? God bless!

  • noises only a bass trombone could love :) music to my ears.. :)

  • almost 50 000 views!!! go astri go!!!

  • vergewaltigung :-(

  • I can't possibly hit a pedal D like that with my .500 bore. Yeah, go Astri!

  • Wow great bass tones :)

  • I'd like to straddle the bell whilst she plays them low power notes...

  • That's very impressive...

    And kind of cute...

    But mostly very impressive.

  • this makes me happy

  • She can't sustain at all down there....needs to work on her lung capacity.

  • the only bass trombones i'd ever seen were those in my h.s. band. one was played as a school owned instrument and the other was our first t-bone player who was a female who ''inherited'' it from her brother. she was very good, having been a piano player since she was a young child. she had no trouble whatsoever playing 1st part with this large bore instrument. she was given the honor of being our drum major her junior and senior years. we lost a good trombone player but gained a good drum major.

  • lol i bet she's using a tuba mouth piece, any decent tuba player can get really freakin low on a bass trombone

  • Your right, but the real challenge for a good Tuba player is can u do it w/ a Trombone mouthpiece. (I can get D1 with plenty of power on a Trombone mouthpiece.

  • Yea, the range on the bass-bone and 4 valve tuba are the same...BBB as the lowest note.

  • @badoc10

    that's wrong...

if you take an f tuba you can hit the subcontra As with only 4 valves

  • lol, what did I say? I can't even find my comment.

  • Their range is similar because those notes are near most people's embouchure limit. I can get power down about pedal Db on my Bass Trombone, but down to around pedal G on Tuba which is a whole out of reach for most pianos.

  • @Justintime4math Yea, thats about the same for me power around pedal Db and C. Im gonna try a bach 1 G mouthpiece and see how well I can do with that. It comes in today!

  • Yea, wouldn't they be "falset tones?"

Or no? Im sure you know more about tubas than me ^__^.

  • I play on a BBb Tuba, so the open fundamental of the instrument is the lowest Bb on a piano (like the one above that is for a Bass Trombone), in order play chromatically down to that note one needs 5 values, with 4 all but B natural can be played with the value as opposed to using a false tone (which is quite easy in that register on Tuba) The G is then 12 or 3 in the pedal lip setting.

  • @Justintime4math Yea, on tuba the false tones are quite easy. They actually resonate on it too.

  • Well they still have that false tone sound really, just harder to notice that low unless u here what their supposed to sound like (i.e. hear some1 do it valves). It sounds much better when its done on the harmonic series via valves than when its done as a false tone.

  • Super relax!!! great!!!

  • like Hellboy Masacre bass trombone..

  • We NEED more like her in the US!

  • Wow... I wish I could get that much sound out... crap!

  • Damn. Reminds me of my college days.

  • i bow down to you

  • Wow!

  • Its not that hard

  • The Trombone Class Rotterdam is the winner of the 2009 ITA Remington competition for Trombone Choirs!!!

Come and check us at the ITF 2009 in Aarhus, Denmark!!!!

  • And you know, she doesn't look all that tall either. WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?!? ; )

    I LOVE IT!

  • YAY-YEAH! love me some big fat pedal notes!! and so little do i see girls play trombone, be in low brass at all haha, can count em on 1 hand! keep on keepin on!

  • its all the testosterone lol. Gets on our nerves. Sometimes you've just got to be one of the guys, I guess... and it helps if you're kinda quiet.

  • Yeah but if more females committed to the trombone then there wouldn't be such a high proportion of testosterone. I've seen one girl play trombone in real life ever, and that was just in an intermediate wind band. Other girls used to, but seemingly couldn't be bothered.

  • Where do you live? Up north we got tons of girls/women playing. I live in Norway and there are lots of great female players! Students and pros all over :)

  • I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. I can't say I've got around too much, though, and in a jazz band I was recently helping with I saw a female trombonist in the concert equivalent of it. I'm sure if I were to get into more ensembles then I'd see more female trombonists.

  • This girl is amazing and besides playing like this she can also play really really beautiful :D!

    Keep on sliding Sis ;):D!!

  • It's good for an exercise or warmup- I play some good loud pedals down to double pedal Bb somedays, just for the air support and articulation practice.

  • I love her...^^*~

  • i'd shove my slide up that XD

    GO TROMBONES!!

  • She seems an animal!

  • sick!

  • pure sexyness

  • I'm in love!

  • as another bass bone player.. all i can say is... i'm smitten..

  • No,I'm not going to say "she can blow my Trombone any day"....Duh..I've said it.

  • does ben van dijk teach you?

  • bass trombone battle. Ready set go

  • Haha very nice attitude :-D

  • I'm not going to lie.. everytime I play a double pedal I think of this video.

I see it as a motivation to just wail the bass trombone...

Dang.. Us bass trombone players will never be understood why we are always blasting pedals... IT's addicting! haha

    Thankyou for this video

  • I'm not a bass trombone guy and i enjoy blasting pedals... I DEFINITELY UNDERSTAND... now of course i don't have all the notes you guys have... but still fun...

  • I totally understand. The lady at my church who plays really loud learned a lesson: never compete against the pedals from a trombone.

  • YEAH! I play the Double Basstrombone^^ In my Jazz band, we have some lines where I've frightened people before. I knocked plaques off the wall in our practice room.

  • Nice! Plaques off the wall! Awesome! The lady at my church plays the drum set too. There is a glass wall at the back of my church and when I play a Pedal.... the whole thing shakes and I can see it from where I stand. Keep knocking the plaques of the wall man!

  • @nef18 i agree

  • Might be a little more impressive if the scale was in tune as well...

  • Considering what mp3 does to bass lines, and just how complicated peddal tones actually are, I'm more suprised we can hear any of it at all.

  • If only we had a bass bone like that at our university. Ugh.

  • I challenge you to a duel!! lol

  • hah :) great idea!!

    LOL!

  • Of course it's quite impressive...but being that the pride of rotterdam: What the actual use of those stupendously ugly but loud notes? Just curious.

  • hah dude if you were really addicted to bass bone and had explored all its possibilities, you'd know

    :D

    cheers!

  • Just for info: I am addicted to bass trombone, and I did say it was impressive didn't I?^.^

But on a side note: I think it would be more impressive if at this volume you could get those notes to sound as if in middle range.;)

  • Hellboy Massacre its on youtube, search it out, bot 2 bones on pedal Eb and D at once, and VERY loud.

  • @kossyoto Why bass tromboniste are so addicted with pedal tone? I'm a tenor trombone tenor and i love bass trombone...but i found those note not very musical out of context. Boring...sincerely. In only on week, i can blast pedal tone with a small bore tenor...

  • @FLefebvre1972 not with that big fat bass trombone sound though... unless you're joe allessi but even then it's not the same!

  • with those puffed cheeks technique in the lower register would be interesting to watch.. ;]

  • Chicks that can play bass trombone are AMAZING

  • disgusting, but damn that's impressive!

  • I like this. Nice girl, you were just letting em out lol... I was like man making me want to get ma horn out. Im here at NSU. Ima HH

  • Yeh Astri nice....

    dutch bass trombone open!! dbto

  • Your best girl :D

  • you showed them up

  • double C or Bflat?

  • it's a pedal D.

    :DD

  • damn lol

  • hahahahahahaha awesome astri

  • It would of been better to hear it live I bet!

  • hahahahahah...Nice sis...This is the rotterdam style......
