  • what was the name of that drug you said?

  • how do they get that

  • i dont know if anyone else on here has said it but i have used this one product that works great its called ROT GUARD by Nature Zone I got it for $5.99+shipping but its awesome boost the immune system and kills the bacteria and fungus

  • yes they can die from that if its left on treated

  • erm.. i do an animal care course and mouth rot is caused by Poor husbandry, especially incorrect cage temperatures and poor nutrition. none of our reptiles have ever had it. mabey cos my lecturer wrote book on animal husbandry, but i thought that it might help. its also caused by a bacteria :)

  • My dragon has this and i cant find a reptile vet near by! What should i do until i find one!?!

  • aww

  • i have a question , how much money do they usually charge , it doesnt matter all that bad to me , but i just got mine nd like im willing to do whatever i can to keep her healthy , nd like i just want an appraxament , kuz im worried she has this

  • @MunchieAKALilSoldier I took my snake who had mouth rot to a vet. The vet i took him to had a cheap exam fee of $45 and then the antibiotic injections that I have to give him (10 suringes of ceftazidime) was about another $30. My total fee was $80 (I can't remember what the extra $5 was for), but for my snake, the inside of his mouth wasn't too bad so they didn't have to do any type of surgery or anything like that. The total fee for your guy probably depends on the severity of the mouth rot.

  • i didnt go to vets when my cwd had it ........ i went to rep shop got some tamodine or somthin like that and some wound healing stuff fo reps and irst i put on the tamodine with cotton wool and then put the healing gel on his mouth and kept on doin it for like 10 weeks and the snout heald and he only has a small part of lipt missing smaller than 1 millimeter very small lol the tamodine thing is anti microbe stuff lol

  • hey erik i was just wonderin what does the cwd act like when he has mouth rot cause i got one 2 days ago and he ate the first day maybe 5 crickets and he pooped yesterday and it was a good solid poop but im worried his mouth looks a little weird but he is active do u think he could have mouth rot????? plzz right back thnx

  • can bearded dragons get mouth rot and how do you tell plzzzz wright back thanks 5/5

  • You can use neosporin on its mouth for a while.

  • I just got a water dragon two days ago I have a video of him but I think he might be starting to get mouth rot he has a brown spot appearing on his snout so is the medicine expensive? Are you able to use human antibiotics like neospoin or some kind of cream?

  • can they die of it

  • yes indeed

  • does ur dragon stillhave the mouth rot?

  • @daleheathcote1995 yes they can die from that

  • great video Easy, i dont have cwd ,etc but very informitive ,,have you came up with any solutions to it ?

i was thinking about putting some kinda tight ,small mesh netting mabye 15 mm from the glass , [just a thought ]

  • aye, i was thinking of using stickers or something to darken down the bottom 6 inches of the glass, it won't be see through so in theory they won't go mad trying to get out, worth a try eh?

  • ok but make sure you put tha in the describstion and i can mow say i am sorry

  • i said in this video that she no longer has mouth rot haha

    but it is fine.

  • mouth rot on a cwd and now a scale rot on a snake u should not own reptiles you really piss me off

  • the scale rot is nothing to do with me, it was purchased by Jen & Andy who were featured in the video, they were treating it for scale rot, it is not and was never anythign to do with me.

Moiuth rot happens to so many water dragons, my female HAD it, now it has been cured, thius was an inforational video to highlight mouth rot due the the fact it is so common.

  • wankers like you piss me off , you should think and inquire before opening you mouth and letting your arse rumble

  • tbh dusty I really think ur just jealous that he is much more knoledged than you about this and that u need to get a life.

Hey Erik its Jonny used to be happysaylor I deleted that account got to many subscriptions haha so I made this one and decided to say hi!

  • if there was a chunk of dirt like thing in the tip of my geckos mouth but on the roof and you cuold see it when you looked at his mouth i pulled it out with tongs and he started bleeding a little and it loooked like how a tooth is like in your gums with a pointy end and is it normal for a leopard gecko to have a hole below the nostrel on the roof of mouth?

  • Im not too sure if thats mouth rot, cwd get a thing called rubbed nose or somthing like that its when they always rub there face on the glass thinking they can get out, the ones i have where i work we used reptile ulcer cream and it cleared up in a few weeks

  • yep, thats mouth rot, they get that from rubbing their noses, getting cuts and then them getting ifnected.

this is the aftermath of mouth rot, which has been cleared up with vet treatment of betadine.

    Erik

  • I saw some today and they had red snouts. and i am 100% positive that its a CWD

  • ouch how long could something like that take to clean up, i hope it gets better man

  • It has to be treated by an exotic vet. Many regular vets do not know how to treat lizards.

  • i would presume most would know that yes

    but then again...

cheers for pointing it out anyways man!

  • Well it is the Internet, they're are a lot of idiots. You and me might have known, but I'm certain I helped someone out who's lurking these by pointing that out. lol

  • true, hence: "but then again..."

    lol

  • hey there was a cwd in the pet shop i worked in had this but thankfully it all cleared up now:)

  • I hope all that mouth rot disappears under your care!

  • erik i was in prestwick pet shop ans there was a wd the with a big hole at the side of its head no joke there was yellow goo comin out of it do you no wat it is? i told the guy but he laughed and said it will be fine :S

  • ..... could be an infected wound the "yellow goo" could be puss.

i too have been in that pet shop but won't pass comment here - slander and all that.

  • Very informative Erik, nicely done. Merck Vet Manual (google it) has lots of nice information on this, and other things. Also has a list of antibiotics used to treat this.

Much better than a random "look at my reptile" video you see so often on youtube.

  • aye, thanks Ashley, few people have asked me why their dragons faces get like this so i felt i should do a video.

  • really sorry about your dragons atleast u have the support of us

  • nah, they are fine now, but they have had mouth rot previously - this is more of an informative video with regards to mouth rot in others collections.

  • Great vid Erik.

    Keep them up!!!

    Dan

  • cheers Dan

  • That's really really sad,I think my Water Dragon suffered that and I didn't know so that's probably how Rex (My Water Dragon) died.

  • aye, sorry to hear that - it is a very common issue.
