It shocks me that so many people don't even know that you have to have a graduate degree to be a librarian. Not just anyone is eligible for the support positions (assistants, technicians, etc.) either. Some of those positions require a four-yr degree and other considerable skills.
Libraries are so valuable, especially public ones. So many people are unaware of the plethora of free information and programs public libraries have to offer.
Support your libraries, ppl! They feed your community.
Agreed very strongly. I have been pleasently surprised at the high level of knowledge held by librarians. As a politics and social anthropology student I find libraries invaluable not only for the text they contain but also for the knowledge held by the librarians themselves. They are certainly highly intelligent people and contribute a LOT to society.
Hehehehehe, no one ever talks about the Pages. They're the ones who really move stuff around and shelve items. I worked in a library for over 2 years. I really liked working there, but I eventually left. A lot more goes into working in a library than a lot of people realize.
I think that's because most ppl confuse the pages (or people who work at the circulation and information desks) for librarians. They think shelving and checking out books is what librarians do.
I agree that there is more to libraries, and the positions within them, than people may expect.
the music is awful but the film looks very interesting
