  • fucking God Jumps!

  • Nostalgia!!!

Also, you make 8 year old me look like shit when it comes to playing this game :D

  • And I thought I was good....... Daaamn man you're are DA MAN! :O

  • I hate nes because they did all the fucking game that way so they losing many hearts in one hits!!!!

  • ... He had ONE charactor, NO lightsaber, basic gear, and only the clothes on his back plus blaster.

After all that Luke TASwalker and his TAS-wing fighter still got 65%.

Counting that he blew up the princess, didnt save R2 or C3P0 and ditched Obi-wan, Han, and Chewie thats a damn-fine score!

  • Talk about abusing The Force...

  • This is some hardcore shit. LOL I have this game still in its orignal box and never was able to complete it...

  • Every game then had Mega Man music. Love it.

  • Everytime I played this on the NES I wondered about the ladder in 1:13. Kept jumping for half an hour before I'd continue!

  • playing this as a kid i made it through the first astroid level once.

playing it with save states in college i'm still not sure if i beat it or not.

  • i remember playing this as a kid but i think it was messed up

  • No credits? and the explosion is just a screen Flash? The Famicom one Namco made is better at least it had a Better Explosion and End Credits I'm so glad I didn't waste my time with this one.

  • It took me about 10 years to finally beat the GameBoy version of this game. It's even more of a pain.

  • How the hell can LUKE fly the Millenium Falcon?

  • @foxskywalker64 Autopilot function i guess :D

  • star wars, duck fight, and super mario bros were the very first video games i played wen i waz 7 yrs old

  • OK... this doesn't synchronize very well with the movie. Why is Luke still in his Tattooine clothing on The Death Star? For that matter, where're Han and Chewie? I saw the Millennium Falcon... but that's about it. And the first X-Wing sequence looks like you're flying backwards.

  • @DeviledEgginator he missed out half the game ;)

  • LOL from 4:35 - 5:20 . Imagine trying to find a toilet in that place.... I believe that we would be buying a lot of diapers(nappys)... :)

  • LOL at the begining :) , BELMONT : "OH CRAP THIS ISNT MY QUEUE TO GO ON..."

  • one thing I do appreciate in this game is the jazz compilation of the music x3

  • the music to this game is GODLY i wish someone wood put the music up x3x

  • Nice kill count

  • Someone should make a speedrun for 100%.

  • woW!

  • Why do the stars move past you while you're battling enemies, like you're doing warp speed? It doesn't make sense!

  • 5/5

  • awesome!

  • my thoughts exactly itsuyo, kids these days don't know what videogames are. there will never be an age of gaming like the nes and snes era, now thats when games were games. what i feel they do right now a days, is when they re-release things like final fantasy 5 for the advance and final fantasy 3 and 4 for the ds or make new games from old formats like mega man 9, i cant express how awesome that was. sorry for the rant there, got fired up.

  • yea man i can see where you are coming from. games today are ridiculously easy to beat compared to nes, snes, and sega games. even n64 games were reasonably difficult, but everything after that is a joke. they try to make the newer games good with nice graphics and stuff, but the gameplay is so damn easy that the game still isnt that fun.

  • That's mainly because modern games are all about the story, rather than causing you to tear your hair out in frustration. Personally, I wear my NES bald spot with pride, and the scars on my wrists from where I bit myself to stop me from throwing my damned NES out of the window are just another badge of true gamer honour. Games today sure do suck. That's why nobody buys them and why a NES will cost you thousands on eBay. That's also why the Xbox is being discontinued - nobody likes modern games.

  • Just in case that didn't sink in... I was being sarcastic. A NES will cost you all of ten quid online, and the reason is that the games were hideous, caused you nothing but stress, and made your wife divorce you.

  • They usually sell for around $50 or so, actually...

  • @Kiltmaster

One Nintendo I heard sold for over 13,000 dollars.....BUT it came with a rare game (only 10 copies were made). The article link is on my channel.

  • I never got through the Alderaan asteroid field in this game....

  • Hahah same with me. It was such a relief when you noticed there werent anymore asteroids and the falcon was speeding up. I managed it like twice or something, and would die pretty soon after on the death star.

  • Man, this game is sadistic. And to think, I was trying to play this game on the Game Boy as a kid. No wonder I could never get very far. I like how he uses the technique of being 'stunned' to get around faster though, like I do on my speed runs in Metroid II and such. Though, I do those without any hacks or tool assistance, etc.

  • no doubt we had it rough. let these new age hd gamers, who consider themselves "veterans" for some reason, play stuff like this when theyre 5 or 6. XD

  • I could never finish this #$@#&$^@ game. I HATE IT but I love it.

  • fuck? no r2d2, no obi-wan, no fuckin han solo?

  • Also, check this out: He didn't get Han, which basically means he STOLE the Millennium Falcon from Docking Bay 94. And since he didn't rescue Princess Leia, that means he KILLED her when he blew up the Death Star!

  • i mean thats awesome!

  • This explains why Leia, & Han aren't at the award ceremony. So does Luke just give himself a medal, or stand there, & tell everyone to look at, & salute him?

Obi-wan is still alive on Tatoonie, too!

  • Man, I hated that escape from the Death Star section. In the movie there are four TIE fighters, and in the game there are lika a thousand...

  • that's odd, I never got an ending cutscene in the master system version, just the % screen.

  • Star Wars: Luke does it himself. I love the Luke only ending, because why would they ever award him a medal? He single handedly blew up the Death Star, with Princess Leia still in it, not to mention that he stole the Millennium Falcon in order to get there.

  • I never completed this game.Frustrating memories...

  • This is what happens when G. Lucas don't give permission to use the original Johnny willliams score...

like playing Contra with a Star Wars patch.

  • Lol. I thought it sounded kinda familiar.

  • this game was a B**ch to play, me my bro and cousins would play this for hours

  • this game looks like fun.

  • this reminds me quite a bit of bionic commando. game play. music. graphics. same company did both games?

  • great :D

  • I like the cantina music.

  • What game is the music at the very beginning from?

  • I'm pretty sure it's Castlevania.

  • yes, the opening scene from the original castlevania. great sound track for that one.

  • castlevania.

  • Okay, what kind of Sith Lord would leave Old Ben Kenobi on Tatooini, steal Han Solo's space cruiser and let Darth Vader's daughter, Leia, get executed?

  • Lol, yeah. XD Luke's the only one standing at the end XD

  • hahaha of couse!! i mean they are really good, so fast, but w/out Leia nor Solo... one of the most difficult NES games (The other... Battletoads)

  • Awesome TAS.

  • Lol at taking the Millennium Falcon without finding Han Solo.

  • This is one fun game! It gets really hard sometimes, but I always play it till the end.

  • Man does this bring back memories, wow.

  • i love the music to the death star stage. just bought this game. i'm expectin somethin difficult.

  • me too! i like it so much i even taped it :D

  • Amazing sight. :P

  • i am completed gta:lcs in 78 minutes

  • youve got free time on your hands D=

  • this was the hardest nes game ever, if sum1 managed to a video walkthrough natural without tool assists it be impressive

  • @kingofkings63a nowhere near the hardest game ever. I completed it with 100% many times. Its hard granted but not the hardest by a long way.

  • @kingofkings63a No, hardest NES game is the Last Starfighter.

  • @kingofkings63a Actually I never found this game to be especially challanging... not to say it's not difficult sometimes but thats just my expeience

  • does anybody has the soundtrack for this game? i love it.

  • Beat this game once, and boy, was I proud.

  • I think this has the best music for an NES title.

  • not really, Indiana Jones and the LAst Crusade (Taito Verison) and Skate or Die 2 got much better music

  • I have this game for the NES, and I must say; I did not know that you could skip all of the stuff that this run skips. For example, you don't need to get the droids, you don't need the Lightsaber, you don't even need to talk to Han Solo in the Cantina. This is the most astounding aspect of the run to me. I figured that you had to follow the movie and finish all of the caves and stuff.

  • "I figured that you had to follow the movie and finish all of the caves and stuff. "

Yeah, that scene from the movie where Luke runs through the caves of Tattooine, looking for starship plating and exterminasting local fauna... :P

  • I meant more along the lines of finding the Lightsaber and the droids, but I guess my comment wasn't really all that clear.

  • I'm just joshing with ya.

Thought the :P smiley would give it away.

  • I really don't see the meaning of a speed run playing with a assit tools.

Any one can do it that way.

  • very true, it is unimpressive.

  • Have you ever heard of "Speed Demos Archive", then? They do all their speedruns without tools, and most of them on the actual console or handheld.

  • That's right, that's talent

  • Tool-assisted runs are the art of figuring out frame-by-frame the fastest possible way to play the game, while also analyzing the programming code to look for exploitable glitches (such as pushing left and right at the same time in Zelda II and going really, really fast)

It's essentially the freedom to do what a human player could never do.

All that to say, you either get it or you don't.

  • It's kind of like solving a big-ass riddle, rather than showing off what you can do with your skills. It's just a different kind of challenge.

  • the meaning is that rather than making a speed run video just to show off the size of one's virtual penis, the runner makes the video for the purpose of it being entertaining. and besides, how else would you get to see a game played PERFECTLY?

  • Dude, do you know how long it takes to finish recording a tool assisted speedrun? Try it, and see how long it takes you to finish it faster than his time. You'll find out that it takes more effort than most people are willing to give.

  • How come they're not even using the original soundtrack? I mean of course it would be dumbed down to 8-bit but still...just some random made up soundtrack.

  • i remember we dit had a second nes with 6 great games including starwars,castlevania2 etc,,and duo their great graphics, sound & gameplay we were very lucky with it,but atleast i dit want a snes and more games but my parents din,t want to bought a snes for us etc,,

so we were forced to play those hard games we had and finaly we have finished manny games like starwars and after 7 years i finely bought a snes,n64,ngc, and gameboy,s

  • Well, it was a good show, you obviosuly know where everything is placed in the game.

But...the use of tools is obvious, and it takes away from the difficulty of completing this speedrun. You're making jumps in places you shouldn't be, you have full shields after you skipped them on Tatooine, it just doesn't seem right...

  • Congratulations man!!! I could never finish that game. Well done!!!!

  • cheater

  • the graphics are so funny hahha

  • i got a nes with this game one christmas when i was like 5 yeras old. i hated it.

  • This game sucks. The Japanese one was better.

  • 65% completion?! You didn't save R2-D2, find Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi, save Han Solo, hell I don't think you even saved Leia! Skipping all that is still worth 65% completion?! Ridiculous!

  • Wow, for NES, those graphics are excellent...

  • This Game is on Gameboy.

    I used to have it

  • i never made it past the second flight in the space

  • it was kinda cool how you you could go about freely in the game.

In this game for example, luke went to the starport, stole the millenium falcon, went to the death star for no reason, escaped, returned later and blew it up.

Thats what kids do when they don't have power converters to amuse themselves with

  • That was very funny.

  • Han Solo is going to be pissed when he sees the Millenium Falcon was stolen.

  • Meanwhile Obi Wans wonders if its going to rain.. R2 is still rusting in the sandcrawler, Han is wondering where are Chewy and his ship and Leia got blown to pieces XD

  • Haha, very true:D

I too have this game on nes.

  • what happened to the lightsaber?

  • Only on SNES ?

  • no, the lightsaber made an appearance in this game. for time's sake the runner skipped the part where you acquire it, though.

  • man i can't tell you how long i've been looking for a speedrun of this game! thanks!

  • what episole is this

  • episode 4

  • thanks but it reminds me of eposole 6

  • Hey, the music is cool.:)

  • I hate to say it, but there's something awesome about the 8bit techno cantina remix. lol
