@JumpnEvolution many states don't charge deposit on cans like we do in most provinces in canada. You are paying that 1.50 up front when you bought those 30 cans...
btw. here in alberta we get .10 per can, or $3 per pound :p
figure this at high price of 14 cents per lb 10 lbs is $1.40 X 1000 vehicles easy thats $1400 they save per day ! I cant weigh each piece they are too large I can only guess from lifting 50 - 100 lbs and who knows if the weigh out scale is off and adds 5 lbs or 10 to your empty weight !
Now they fook u going in and coming out thats $2.80 per trip if that out scale is adding weight !
Whish i had some type of air device that would supsend me while weighing out 185 lbs less
just found out that cast iron pays more than light iron ....thank lord i only had 2 trips before with cast iron like large wheels disc drums etc.. Dam no wonder others years ago loaded fridges and big appliances with rocks ! They screw you as soon as drive on that scale like figure you go late day after 1000 vehicles passed thru; Aint no way those scales react same way after 20,000 tons passed over them ; found outtwice standing onit before driving on i lost 10 lbs driving 7 miles ! Check scales
@codmw78 unless if you use a solar furnace it will most likely use more £ in energy to melt them than what you get from it
u mayb tempted to use a fire to melt it, this will melt pure aluminium easy but 99% of the time cans are alloy with zirconia and silica added, this increases fluidity when cast and formability (e.g. pressing cans) this will increase melting point to 700 deg C or higher, you will find they will go soft and floppy but you cant melt them if this is the case
@codmw78 the compamy that makes cans will buy rolled sheet from a stockist or mill then press the cans out of it, the mill will buy ingots or billets, perhaps 1-5 tonnes if you could melt them down and make a product such as this from cans instead of just scrap then this is where the money can be made as you will beable to sell at greater than scrap price
whew just got home from local football game OMG i loaded up 4 large bins 10 large bags 40 gal bags mostly uncrushed cans ! after i crused them all i got them all into my 4 large plastic trash cans 50 gal cans thats 45 lbs each one holds so at .60 cents per lb i made in 6 hrs time
$108.00 but van stinks of beer oder right now LOL ! nice days pay huh ? If i only had some kind of large vacumm to suck up cans off ground i could move so much faster ! They have one but costs is $2400 !
30 cans per pound hum can that allways be correct what about the 16oz or the quart cans 32 oz size surely the bigger cans weight more and smaller weight less.I think some are even 40oz beer cans too??
@arkansastrash320 YES the larger cans weigh more i was refrring the normal 12 oz. size cans 30 of them total with or withouttabs = 1 lb current price here is now at .60 a lb
so if you want $60 you need 3000 12 oz cans 100 lbs compressed in large containers that can hold 25 lbs each ! fastest way to compress cans is with any car or van just line them up along a high curb and slowly run over them all back n forth takes about 40 mins to do 100 lbs !
ScrapZoneRecycling asked me what are some clean scrap iron items ! simply put any steel or iron that has no plastic or wood or anything else on it that's not ferrous metal ! some yards will deuct for trash and dirt if u dump in junk with ferrous metal others do not care they just pay you less per lb no matter if it's clean or not !
The one place i go to Paid me 0.13 per lb one time but next two times after busting my knuckles removing hard plastic from folding chairs i got normal price
Im Looking For Mtn Dew Cans Because I Want To Make A Pyrimd If You Can Please Leave Me A Message I Love Mtn Dew But I Dont Want Mine To Crush Mine But If You Got Any Flavor Of Dew Please Message Me
@Mojoman04 many staes take plastic and glass bottels but you need 1000 of them for $50 where are you going to store 1000 glass and plastic bottels at ? The staes are marked on sides of each bottle closest one to me Is Delaware ! OR NY They pay that .5 up front at purches and get the nickle back on returns at the store you bought from or other store ! I don't know if they have the recycle centers that would accept 1000 bottels and atrip to NYC aint worth $50 because net profit is $10
correct 30 12 oz cans make up 1 lb ! My problem is the tear weight i get ripped off for major dollars when using bags ! Supposed to be 10 % deducted but a few times i got robbed ! Last week i had 60 lbs of cans in two bags HE took off 16 lbs tear weight ! I didnt notice until after cashing out ! SO i fixed his ass next time i went back with 100 lbs of cans but had 20 loaded with rocks adding 20 lbs ! 3 large 45 gal contractor bags crushed cans ! HE took off 12 lbs for tear weight ! LOL gotem
@senseblogger Are you in Milwaukee? Give me a call 737-1879, I pay you for every pound. But don't rig your cans like you rigged them on him! Alright, talk to you soon, B.T.
@senseblogger place I sell to weighs my truck cause i got with at least 100 pounds at a time and they usually end up paying me for a few pounds more than what I weighed at home, I do weigh all my bags before I leave..
@savagenomore cool funny that they pay you more weight than your differntial empty weight is ! MY truck also i get weighed with when bringing in iron and steel CLEAN iron pays more at my place instead of 12.25 per 100 lbs i get 12.75 per 100 lbs spending about 2 minutes per piece that has junk on it like plastic wood cloth !
so because it's only .25 cents less than 13 $ they rounf off up to next dollar and i get 13$ per 100 give me the clean iron from now on !
@ScrapZoneRecycling clean no glass or plastic or any non ferous on the iron or steels tire wheels and rims without the tire are claen and they take them you need a sawzall to cut that bead of tire to remove from wheels ! Or some kind of power cutting wheel or blade ! I have found 3 places that do heavy contruction and car n large truck repairs they are not locked so i drive in take out broken scrap and leave but these places are far from my city 25 - 30 miles away !
MORE on This clean iron and steel I think because when i went late night they really couldn't see i cleaned all the scrap iron when i went early afternoon they paid me more ! BUT now they have the frequent trader card where after you do 19 trips on trip 20 They pay you $1 extra per 100 lbs ! Boy will i make sure i have at laest 1000 lbs loaded in my van that day probably wo'nt fit unless it's all small 10 lb pieces inside i may have to use the roof rack too with bungee cords
@senseblogger - That yard is messed up. Bagging them is the most efficient way to transport and weigh them. The yard I go to weighs the bagged cans on a scale then a worker drags them 15 feet to the can area, rips them, and dumps them out. I got in shit once for having a ripped bag, he opened the door and 20 or so cans fell out on the floor and he's like wtf is this, are they all loose? They don't even deduct the weight of the bags, so I guess they're re-selling them for big profit.
@xIntoThePitx I know they really screw us over when using bags so i fixed that problem with 3 large plastic bins hold about 40 lbs each crushed no more tear weight except what the bins weight PLFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ! fuck wit me you pay !
@menace613902 yeah save me money too no more cost for large bags I only use bags i find in parking lots at stdiums that arent too full to collect them with ! But i'm making device and will have it patented to crush 1 lb of any size cans in 5 seconds ! I serached every where there is nothing like it ! They have wall mount crushers that hold 10 12 oz cans and you do 1 at a time others are power operated that do 100 lbs in a hopper !need manual fast crush when on streets
What a fucking scam artist you are! Iam a canadian and over here we get 1.50 or more for what u paye someone .50-.55 cents for!

@senseblogger The recycling depot here gives you 5 cent a can, so 3000 cans give you $150. That's more than double and no trouble melting anything.
