A little bit of music theory goes a long way.

I remember a few songs that made scales 'click' for me.

Ain't It Fun

Don't Cry

The reason: The solos are based on the the minor scale and the minor chord is the starting chord in the chord progression. To me it was the first pattern I really noticed. Once you learn the pattern, you can start basic improv after you figure out what key the song is on.

Major chord progressions are a little different...

Yours isn't bad, but definitely not as good as this one. Your version seems to play the song exactly in line with the CD version of Gaga's song, adding nothing new. Scorpio sorta took the song and made it his own... and that's why this one's better. The difficulty level is also higher in this version than on yours. As good as this one is, I think it could still be a lot better, and he seems to have the skill to make it better.

Yea, I agree that his is unique and he's waaaay better than most out there. I've only had my guitar for 2 years, playing an accumulated time for 4 months. It's just that there is no musical pattern or song structure if you will, they are just millions of different runs of scales. So actually, it's more of an instrumental improv rather than a full cover. I'm not hating, I'm just saying. Sometimes complicated is better, sometimes simple is better, it's all about preference :)

Scorpio definitely had a better cover skill wise and it's definitely one of my favorites, he's probably been playing for more than 5 years. But A7XHellBlaze had a simple composition, yet a cover that made sense that had both rhythm and lead. Also his could actually be put on a CD, where as Scorpio's is just an improvisation, which don't get me wrong, is an amazing talent, but he has no structure; however as a soloist, he is a pure genius. I say they are equally great, but on different levels.

Umm experience wise, Scorpio blows A7XHellBlaze out of the water so even if he creates non-improv version it would probably be better. But considering A7XHellBlaze only practices 1 hour a week (says so on his profile), that's only about 52 hours a year and for his level, I think his videos are much better than most at that level; that's why I say they are both are equally great, but on different levels.

There isn't a comparison between the two, they are totally different. I really like both and I'm subscribed to both. Considering their on different skill levels, A7XHellBlaze has already done a collab video with a drummer. I think it's because his cover can actually be part of the original song. Not many would choose a guitarist who just throws in scales during the song because it will mess up the flow; it has to be properly composed.

If being a musician is something he wants to be, he better learn how to take criticism a lot better than that, especially since he ASKED for it.
