The whole argument concerning Christian band or not is completely missing the point. Yes, they are Christian. Yes, they are a band...therefore a Christian band. HOWEVER, the point they make by saying they are "not a Christian band" is because they think that "Christian" music should not be a genre at all, nor should "Christian" be a type of band. They believe that music and lyrics speak truth for themselves, especially since it ultimately depends on what the audience gleans from it.
August Burns red has made me think about the metal that has been around for a few years and I just can't find another band that has the same musicality or originality as them. They have so many riffs and such creative stops here and there, as well as a very unique sounding screamer... I just can't see anyone coming close to them. And what is all this hate on Christians and metal without a negative image? Does all metal have to be negative? I mean that's just ridiculous!

Im sorry but I still dis agree, Not that this matters at all, but I went to this thing called Alive '09 its an Ohio christian concert. All Christian bands go there.. and AILD was there.. as soon as they got on stage them and norma jean both told their story of how they are not christian bands, but go to concerts because they believe in god, so they attend. I also saw ABR and Underoath this year and I saw ABR with AILD last year. They claimed to believe in god but not be a christian band twice.

They may seem random but they aren't research the connections listen to song other songs by August Burns Red. If you don't know where to start look at Born of Osiris-Now Arise, find the meaning in the lyrics (the music video has obvious symbolism if you do your research right). This topic isn't about Christianity directly but some believe has a LOT to do with it.

really? i like WRAAB so much more than constellations. the music, the lyrics, everything. I have a complaint about each album though. in WRAAB there is too much straight 16th note chugging, and in constellations Greiner uses that 1+a2+a..... punk beat way too often.

On topic: This album is pretty good, so was messenger, I don't think we can compare those 2 records has they are very different. Constellations: Got a certain "poppy" sound to it but has some freaking good parts in it. I think that with this CD, ABR proves once agaIn they have their place in the metal/hardcore scene.
Messengers: This cd got me into ABR and Christian metal bands (yes abr's christian) From what I have heard...
(cont.) Messengers was the album that was a big surprise among metal fans.
With that said and as I said before, even if messengers and constellations are from the same band. we cannot compare them, messengers was a BIG step foward from their previous album and constellations proves that this band still can evolve musically and lyrically.

Just because they sing about god and love god doesn't mean they are christian, I have seen them live many times and Just like AILD they both say the same thing, they are not christian, they just believe in god and they write their feeling. But it doesn't mean they are christian metal. Not that this should matter at all because the point is they kick ass.

In an interview J.B. said that they are not a christian metal band just most of them are religious though.... even in the lyrics book of their albums on the page were they thank people it says Jesus Christ....... so that are not a "christian metal band but most of them are religious.

really? i like WRAAB so much more than constellations. the music, the lyrics, everything. I have a complaint about each album though. in WRAAB there is too much straight 16th note chugging, and in constellations Greiner uses that 1+a2+a..... punk beat way too often.

On topic: This album is pretty good, so was messenger, I don't think we can compare those 2 records has they are very different. Constellations: Got a certain "poppy" sound to it but has some freaking good parts in it. I think that with this CD, ABR proves once agaIn they have their place in the metal/hardcore scene.
Messengers: This cd got me into ABR and Christian metal bands (yes abr's christian) From what I have heard...

With that said and as I said before, even if messengers and constellations are from the same band. we cannot compare them, messengers was a BIG step foward from their previous album and constellations proves that this band still can evolve musically and lyrically.
