I'm sure Don Gibson would want to set the record straight: he DID NOT write "Sea of Heartbreak" but he did have a great #1 crossover (country/pop) hit on it. Don did wrtite great songs....including "Oh, Lonesome Me" and the "B" side, "I Can't Stop Loving You," but the writing credit for "Sea of Heartbreak" goes to Paul Hampton and the Great Hal David, later of Bachrach/David fame.
