I was in Kauai during the tsunami - so thankful that my family and I and everyone on the island was safe. Very sorry for the damage depicted here as Hawaii is a magical land. I watched as the final tsunami waters passed Kauai at first dawn on the north shore...I'll share my video here. Sat there feeling spared...feeling the energy of Japan...feeling the protection of the Island. Much love and support to those that suffered in Japan - sending all our energy and best wishes for recovery.

I spent some great years on the Big Isle. Got to see Brudda Iz at the Kings Shops and remember everyone turning their car lights on the day he passed. This video footage makes me feel the same way.... He could always say it best.... Thanks for sharing. May Hawaii mend and glad things weren't worse.

This is beautifully done. I'm glad nothing major bag happened to Hawaii. So sad for Japan though :(. Hawaii so beautiful no matter what! Great song too. I miss being in Maui!  Things are so different there, the aloha spirit really gets you like my friends I stayed with said it would.

Absolutely awesome video! Brudda Iz was a perfect choice for the music I hope you and yours made it through OK....I've lived in Kailua, Oahu for 47 years same house just barely outside of the evacuation area. We made it thru no damage, but this was big time scary. Mahalo for such a well made slideshow/video.

Wonderful post...just beautiful. I concur with another poster - on the mainland we cannot get any news about the damage in Hawaii. If not for You Tube posters such as yourself one would think that nothing happened in Hawaii at all. We have been extremely fortunate to have visited paradise on Earth (a/k/a the Big Island) several times. Each time we left, a piece of us remained behind...and a piece of the Island remained in our hearts. Thank you again and RIP Bruddah Iz.

Thank you for posting this compilation of videos and pictures. We love Kailua and have spent a lot of time on Ali'i drive in those shops and restaurants. Looks like the road took a beating down by the Atlantis Submarines. Does anyone know how much damage at Pu'uhonoa O Honaunau? Getting Kona news is next to impossible here on the mainland.

Awesome video!! My favorite island! We are headed back your way in June. Was devastated to hear the news very early this morning. We stayed at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel when we were there last. I can tell by your video it most likely has received damage since your video looks like it is Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona. :o( Thoughts and prayers as you rebuild and clean up.
