Whenever I travel between the two coasts, I go out of my way to take interstate 40 instead of I-10, thus passing through the upper panhandle instead of the bulk of the state, thus minimizing the distance travelled through Texas, and so as to contribute nothing to their economy. Also of course, I fill my stomach and gas tank just across their border and leave in the early a.m., so do not buy any food or gas there.

Unlike people these days and the new generation, people like George Strait have class and respect for other people and while the slogan is "Don't Mess With Texas", the message is simply to respect the environment don't litter. Of course people like you take that as "Woa, I have such a bad-ass reputation and I think this guy might be dissing me", so you would probably take out your gun and shoot or get shot at.
