  • Too bad the film was shit!

  • @IMDBmoderator the film wasnt shit, it just had a lot of pinky parts

  • @supar2100 You've got to admit, though, that the ending was atrocious.

  • @IMDBmoderator not all, from the moment the guy decides to go with the aliens the ending turns into shit

  • This soundtrack makes me feel epic and powerful :)

  • fuck , i wanna see the movie again!! =P

  • is my favorite "TRIUMPH" song for ever

  • is my favorite "TRIUMPH" song for ever

  • Now THAT'S how you end a song!!!!

  • That part that starts at around 3:00 reminds me of Jupiter from the Planets. Although that could just be subconsciously because that planet in the video kinda looked like Jupiter.

Also, that image at 4:34 looks like it would be a Yes album.

  • @VaporWolf980 Wuss.

  • This movie would be nowhere without this incredible music! BRAVO!

  • Pino Donaggio!

  • this song makes the end of the movie...this song is so beatuiful i almost cried

  • 2012 is coming and E.T. can´t save us.

  • @Trickroad

    Pratt

  • Father, I have a confession to make. I love this theme, it's breath taking. (I'm not even Catholic lol).

  • This is what I was born for...to boldly go where no one has gone before....to stand on a new world, to look beyond it to the next one....you can't take the sky from me...

  • Enio did pretty good, especially at 2:50 when Jim is about to let in the liquid oxygen. It's tough to transition from erie to exciting without running into a bump.

  • Please man send humans to Mars!! would be great intertainment, they should make PAY per view when NASA launch manned mission. And give the money uncut for NASA's new upcomming missions.

  • the best part starts at 3:20 to 3:41 and ends to the 3:54 (sniff!!!) :)

  • Precious!!!!!!

  • 4:29 to 4:36 is like one of the most amzing melodies ive heard composed

  • oh my god ennio morricone SIMPLY THE B E S T!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the music is by far the best part of this film.. not the first time with a movie scored by Morricone..

  • beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Best!!!!

  • I love music, I love Williams and Morricone (with many other great composers). But Morricone is the god of emotions.

    Morricone, il dio delle emozioni

  • I like his westerns

  • The best

  • wauw!! :o

  • I find it sad that this has become a pissing contest between John Williams fans and Ennio Morricone fans. Can't we just admit that they are both unbelievable composers?

  • @Eiuvltr I agree.. Both phenominal composers.. no better than each other, no worse...

  • @Eiuvltr LOL. pussy.

  • @Eiuvltr realy true

  • @Eiuvltr; Never!!

  • @Eiuvltr they are good all 2...

  • @Eiuvltr john williams is not a umbelievable composer because he's doing always the same!

morricone got so much different styles and it's always a win

  • @Eiuvltr There are three of them:

    Ennio Morricone

    John Williams

    and Howars Shore

    Do you guys agree?

  • @Eiuvltr

Absolutely. They are both awesome composers! But I guess, I can reconcile you: Nobuo Uematsu beats both of them ;) (not kidding, he does, you'll need about 6 hours to listen to the best of his themes 1 time, and each of them is great and full of ideas). Start with Zanarkand, Those who fight (w3sp version), FF7 main theme, FF7 intro, Vamo alla Flamenco, Tina's theme, piano version of Jenova, One Winged Angel, FF12 Chocobo theme, Liberi Fatali, FF2 main theme, FF9 behind the door...

  • @vasjaforutube1 God your comparing him with Nobuo!? please man, both are great at what they do in their own

way. You may just happen to like Nobuo better then the both of them, wich makes it an opinion.

  • @fuusoya

Ok, I admit, it was a bad idea to compare composers. They all are great. :) Good luck!

  • @Eiuvltr Yeah, they are both unbelievable composers...but Ennio is better,xDD..:)

  • muy interesante

  • Who created the Martians? The... jupiterians? XD

  • .......just wonderful...........

  • goosebumps............ i like it, awesome

  • This film made me cry because I thought is was all true that those aliens were the ones who created the human race.

  • A force not of this world did create the human race....

  • You do know that Close Encounters was being composed by Williams when Morricone was still doing spaghetti westerns? There is a progression to everything and it does not make what comes before invalid.

  • @dwayne0t

Oh shut it, Close Encounters of the Third Kind beats this in every way possible. I like Morricone, but John Williams' score to that movie just suits it better than Ennio Morricone's to Mission to Mars.

  • I start to get teary at 4:30 its so beautiful!

  • Dont worry I do also, Its a Moving Peace of work X

  • @arianamarisa My lip quivered...

  • italy conquisted Mars...

  • bout time

  • ennio sei forte..............

  • There' s something about all space movies soundtracks that just make U feel HIGHT!!!!! LOVE IT !!Check out "Apollo 13" too.

  • and check out battlestar gallactica, even if its a show, great soundtrack.

  • This is my favorite part of Mission to Mars, but it isn't on the soundtrack. It's beautifu

  • I have got to get this soundtrack

  • love da 3:34 pic

  • Incredible music I would love to hear this live.

  • Ennio gets it right everytime fantastic music.

  • 5:28

    "Have a great ride Jim"

  • exactly, have...a ...great......ride......jim!!!

  • Ennio's music was the best part of the movie! Bravo Maestro Morricone!

  • Great, thanks. - Erkele

  • Che dire, italiani cosi ne sono rimasti pochi, grazie Ennio Morricone, altroche pop music

  • ennio morricone's talent as a composer scares me haha, he's so gifted!

  • i don´t think he is gifted but he IS a gift to mankind

  • molto bello il filmato

  • Finally some fellow classical music lovers! We;re a dying breed my friends, stick with it!!

  • This song really speaks to the human soul. You have to wonder " Who are we really?"

  • you gotta love the horns!!!

  • AERNT THEY!?!?!? i get shivers all over my body when i blast this really loud.

  • I am the lead horn at my high school and my director showed me this and told me to strive to play like that.

  • Wise instructor! Also, learn to compose with emotional priority like Master Morricone. Listen, deconstruct, and reconstruct as much of his work as you can.

  • yes his compositions are just so amazing. The score he wrote for the untouchables is amazing as well. I am trying to arrange the ending title by ear currently

  • Excellent! Untouchables? Now see, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks! Locating some Untouchables video NOW! :)

  • obivously ur director isn't an idiot. he knows talent and beauty at work. and good luck dude!

  • A Heart Beats in Space!!!!!!!

  • This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard!

I can't find it on sale on itunes and to buy it new off amazon would put me out $80.

I don't see what is so difficult about uploading 10 songs on the itunes server. The worst it can do is make money for the composer and itunes...because this is such a freakin awesome soundtrack!!

  • What are you talking about? You can get this from Amazon? For 80$??? Let me know how, I would pay 85$ !!!!

  • haha, so would I if I weren't broke!

  • I'am broke as well! But I would consider selling a kidney for this.. The soundtrack is just not available!!! Anyone got this? One Slightly used kidney as a swap! Only joking, it's been well used.

  • I love this cue! I recently saw the film for the first time and also heard the score for the first time during it. For its entire duration I was thinking "boy, the music does not fit this film at all"

There is not ONE sequence in the entire film where Morricone's GREAT music matches the visuals.

By the time I reached the end of the film? I realised something...

The music was WRONG for the film because it is simply too damn GOOD!!

The film itself was anything BUT good, it was AWFUL in fact.

  • i disagree with you ....... i thought this film was brilliant... made so by the soundtrack. in all the years ive been watching scifi, this rates in the top 5 of best sounding soundtracks that really makes the film.... number 1 being ET, 2 - starwars 3 - close encounters - 4 mission to mars 5 - contact...

this film, mission to mars captivated me, firstly because of the soundtrack and secondly cos there aint much dialouge needed because the pictures and music tell the story.

  • man...I can't find the soundtrack on itunes!! :(. I love this movie and soundtrack! Reminds me of old school books I've read from my papa! :D

  • 2:49 feels like I'm on a highway driving toward a major city, and I can see the skyline getting closer and closer. The pulse and energy of the city grows with the size of the buildings and the number of cars and people...can't ya just feel it? :D

  • i always think of being in a space shuttle and the countdown is starting and im still thinking wether or not i want to do this then.... TO LATE!!!

  • I just love the image of the planet. I wish I could be the person to make first contact with an advanced, friendly alien species. That would make my life complete. I really think there is intelligent life somewhere in the universe. There is no way we could be the only self-aware species. That would be such a waste.

  • very true. to be the only planet in all of a fathomless universe i find impossible. there are just so many areas outside our own solar system for there non to be a second earth. though its hard to figure were sentient life came from.... stuff like this makes my head hurt.

  • this is my favorite music, from my favorite movie !

  • 4:31 to 4:42 = orgasm for me

  • A Masterpiece!

  • 3:25 to 3:40 fun tune

  • with this music, im ready to explore the universe!

  • @superwalaby

    Well said. : )

  • It goes without saying that Morricone is a genius. I mean, he scored the freakin' Good, Bad and the Ugly!

  • Music for space travel movies usually is not as powerfull as this. This really gives Mission to Mars feeling and depth. The things the characters learn in the movie is reallt emphasized by this music.

Awesome song, next to the final piece in the movie.

  • i cant explain my feelings toward this masterpiece.. sad yet happy ..

  • Can't explain with words how good this movie and this music is!!

  • 4:29 = amazing music!!!

  • haha thankfully it wasn't.

  • You know, this is one of his lower rated works, but I don't see why. This score is fantastic, just as usual for Ennio Morricone.

  • This is what played in my head the night the Red Sox won the World Series.

  • Magnificent!

    Truly beautiful!

  • I knew he'd be a fellow water sign, Scorpio (and he's now 80) there's so much emotion in his music it's beyond comprehension it can only really be listened to as it was performed, through the heart... What a gift this man's work is for everyone! :-)

  • sono felice di essere italiano

  • this sountrack is gorgeous ,and i'm very happy to have it in my collection .

  • bestial, de las mejores bandas sonoras que e oído!
