It's easy to assume that because Muhammad Ali is saying this that it's somehow right, but focus on these facts - Ali spent most of his young adult life conflicting with people. Almost all of his boxing opponents hated him, he fell out with all of his Nation of Islam buddies, and he wasn't even half as friendly of a guy the mainstream public wanted him to be. He grew up when race relations were much harder and he was indeed racist.
