  • wow thats just sad if you guys dont know this there usualy called parasite cause they kill the native fish eggs and they breed like cold

  • PLEASE DONT BE STUPID PEOPLE!!!

thes species fish are not from this country they come from south america where they have predators and a natural growth control!!!

here they are just introduced and inavaders they push aside the growth of the native fishes populations of usa and mexico by eating their eggs..

this is just plain sad =(

  • @fastdfooddeath Well considering there's very little background information about this video, I'm pretty sure everyone was assuming that this was taken in their natural habitat in SA

  • @fastdfooddeath hey they eat plants and plant material so back of man back of so what if they evade it happens its life. so go stick a perch up ur ass. yaaahhhhh ..........bitch................

  • @MrSpeakerguy44 Plant and plant material???

    LMAO!!!!

you are talking to a biologist!!!

    dont fool yourself..

where do you think the NATIVE AMERICAN species lay their eggs??

    algae.. yes...

    and what do plecos eat??

    does that ring a bell?

  • 1. Quick! Catch one! Use a PokeBall!

    2. The diver chases, a pleco screams, "Do a barrel roll!"

  • look like Mexican pleco

  • Awsome, so many in one spot~!

  • I found a pleco!

  • no more algae for that lake.... ;D

  • wonderful creatures :)

  • So guy let a male and female go in a lake and this is what happened. Or they're just a normal species fish to that specific lake

  • The early pleco gets the algae?

  • were is that, take a huge net a get a 100 gallon tank a you have a pleco tank :)

  • were is that

  • omg its freaking pleco heaven lol

  • Guessing by the Astyanax that just swam by, and the amount of plecs and no other fish, I'm guessing that this is actually in Central America -- where the fish is not native -- quite possibly the Rio Usamacinta basin where they have been introduced by nefarious means and have since wiped out much of the unique, rare and endemic native fish population (cichlids, livebearers).

  • they're schooling fish?

  • @plopmeista I had a pair that were bought from the same breeder and I had them for about 2 years and when one died, the other didn't even last a week before it died and we found no disease in the tank or on the fish.

  • Where abouts is this ? are these red spot pleco's or common pleco ? lol wonder if there are any zebra or gold nugget pleco's in that lot . Or some vampire or royal pleco's . They are worth a bunch in a pet shop

  • Pleco.s seem to have no natural ememies. They are running, swimming, wild in Hawaii and they are obnoxious. One of them took my lunch money and gave me a super wegie when I was swimming. It was embarasing and the teacher didn't say nothin.

  • so many plecos! r they the same type youd get in a pet shop?

  • What lake is this So Awesome...

  • :0 my pleco is only and inch long in a 10 gallon tank.!!! WTF!!!!!

  • catch them youll be rich

  • They are not plecostomus but pterygoblychtis. Where is this place? Thanks alot for this shots.

  • Amazing!

  • Im going to release my Gibbicep in that place, so he can be part of the shoal :)

  • Very nice!

  • WOW impressive!

  • cool

  • It should've sounded like.

Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM Nom Nom Nom Nom NOM

  • I know where I'm going for my next vacation! LOL

  • thats alot of nom nom nom

  • so they do move in herds!

  • holy crap that's a lot of pleco's i did'nt know they schooled!

  • they kill the habitat sumtimes idk if this is true and don't argue with me because i heard this from teachers and friends saying when fishes get close to them they spike up and the fish that try eats it dies....i thought it suppose to clean.....

  • its the other fishes fault for trying to eat.

They arent suppose to clean, theyre not maids! dont blame the plecos.

  • @antdaweeze13

    haahahah goodjob

  • @recon345

yeah they spike up but theyll spike up befor you even get to touch it so unless the fish is super sneaky and eats it befor it spikes up (which is nearly impossible) then yeah the fish might die

  • @PxAndxR he is talking about the fish that trys to eat the pleco will get killed because the spikes

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • Wow, Look at them and their gorgeous habitat. Its awesome.

  • It's nice to see them in a natural habitat. I didn't know they swam in schools like that. It makes me feel sad for plecos in tanks.

  • the plecos in tanskw ere special breeded, they were breeded to be ina tank, alone if necessary.

  • Ya don't see much algae in this lake ! hehe

  • :40 was huge

  • I would say this is Florida, but judging by the types of rock, I'm thinking the Yucatan Pen. area

  • Texas

  • they really are lovely fish but if you cross em they will fook u up, even piranas dont mess with em

  • Wow, that's too many.

in our country, philippines, they destroyed native fish habitats on lakes, 75% of fish population on a lake here are now of of plecos, so today they are hunted for pig feed, leather or use them as biofuel,

  • yeah you dant have to ruin it for us kirbylight. plec fans dont wanna hear about what basterds do

  • you relize youre making your dam country look bad. theyre probably going to endanger plecos in the future!

  • Comment removed

  • did any1 see the huge 1 in the middle lol

  • where is this place!? it's awesome!!!!

  • lol it's cost 6 bucks to get something that common!

  • @paulsawawall

Unfortunately, when you keep taking them out the wild, they don't stay common for long :( Like the Red Tailed Shark + Denisoni Barb :/ Fortunately all these species are bred commercially in ponds in the far-east :)

  • @Liiitre ~ I'm not sure about Denison's Barb (it's really isn't a barb at all). Closest relative is the Siamese Algae Eater. Often more accurately called a Roseline Shark. I purchase several of these recently and I really like them a lot.

On the other hand, The Red-Tailed Shark is no longer common in the wild because there are NOT ANY left in the wild, that we know of. Their natural habitat has been completely destroyed. They're EXTINCT in the wild!

Maybe this is why Denison's are so pricey!

  • @paulsawawall

Well, it costs 6 bucks to get something this common because of the ban on getting plecos from the wild.

  • @paulsawawall those in sydney proberly cost $200 bucks i saw an baby one cost 10-15 dolelrs

    lol

  • @ProWilsonTan They're a plague here in Mexico.

  • @ProWilsonTan in mexico one baby pleco sold for one dollar...

  • WOOOOW! this is why I love wildlife.

  • They must have gathered for breeding season. There were some huge ones too.

  • oh my fucking god

  • Wow, I didnt know some plecs live in such large schools, or any schools for that matter, plus I thought they only occur in rapids.

  • Wow cool

  • were is that at so i can get some

  • yer thats cool but there overpopulating that water way u dont see many other fish than plecs

  • breeding season?

  • omg holy shit

  • plecs are causing problems in my country. cauz they eat other fish's eggs. so some common river fish may become endangered. i hope they don't try to kill the plecs and the plecs eventually become extinct like what happened with the passenger pigeons!

  • thats cool.

  • They look like my common pleco. That is amazing! I'm very happy for all of them, and I hope they don't get caught.

  • What fish was that on :51? It looked like a full grown zebra pleco.

  • i tink u maybe right or it may be some type of hybrid catfish

  • wow

    fantastic

  • HOLY PLECO.....thts a lot

  • man i just wana dive on in there with a net and catch the biggest one and put him in a tank of his own.. now i just have to go to mexico

  • wow thats awsome

  • you should have gotten the one at 1:31

  • Don't be fooled there not in the wild, he just has a really big fush tank. ;)

  • That was amazing!

  • best video i have seen on here abt the plecos

  • If I remember correctly this is somewhere in south mexico

  • This person is correct, rouge fish from the hobby was thrown into this Mexican river where they now thrive.

This has also resulted in many native fish loosing their habitat to them

  • Ref: MarcDigital comment "If I remember correctly this is somewhere in south mexico"

  • Plecos school in the wild???

  • Wow, how many are? Are all so big?. Where place is it?.

  • where is this
