What is considered learning songs by ear? Watching performances, seeing their fingers move across the keys and then doing the same pattern? I'm just trying to figure out how you'd describe my style of learning...

learning by ear is only listening to the piece. i have my Amus in piano and violin and can learn music only by listening. this does not include watching fingering. if you watch a different persons fingering it means you a physical/visual learner. this is a good way to learn but sometimes it is best to find your own fingering.

thanks! what made it really hard is that the real song is not released yet so i had to learn it from live performances recorded from digital cameras and not all cameras have good quality.
