  • Fancy Shifting Huh!

  • thats insane to go so fast like that...

  • at the first i would put off this fucking "peeeep" tone !!!

before i get crazy, specially on german highways ;)

  • Im glad Mazda is sticking with the rotary. Great engine.

  • @kingdomboost Yeah, sad the Rx8 got discontinued. Atleast they aren't abandoning it though. :D

  • Love Rx-8?

    Check out Rx-8 Mega Gathering 2010 - Trailer 2

(stay tuned for a RARE Rx-8!)

  • I like rotaries! They rev till very high!

  • @syafiq202 lol 9000 isnt really high...check Honda Spoon spec

  • @Theuf28 9000 is high.. even with hondas... u rarely see 10k hondas

  • @Jaran912 Check out Spoon and S2000 videos, most are over 10k ;) anyway, over 10k is wicked in a normal or standard day driving car eheh

  • @Theuf28 But the sound from the Rotary is awesome!

  • @syafiq202 Yes its a really nice engin sound, Efficient too for the size.

  • You probably burned about a quart of oil on that run and yeah..its slow too...

  • @ScorpiosBite1 y tu probablemente no tienes ni idea de lo que estas diciendo..

  • must be some DAMN good oil in that machine

  • that fricking beep is annoying

  • @Eidrian111 useful when your shifting second to third and you wanna keep your eyes on the road cause your doin 100kmh already

  • youre loosing SOOOOO much power keeping it in the red line like that.......

  • @furmaster212 your not... rotory motors LOVE high revs

  • hmmmmmmm!! all i can say is, this car is faster than a honda civic

  • 6 gear is realy long, it just do not have power for this gear.

  • @TheArhiArhus Thats the idea, it saves fuel for if your on the motorway, get up to speed, bang it into 6th, so it isnt revving its tits off, saves fuel

  • @rhysfoley09 Yes, I understand, but it looks good, on the firts 5 gears, on 6 gear it look like Lada:).

  • @TheArhiArhus it does when you upgrade it

  • Poor Rx8!!! this breaks my heart. =(

  • Its not fake, its real!thats about close to 155 mph.

  • guyzzz thts not fake i got an rx8 too it makes countinues beep when it touch the red line, though it doesnt have the power like honda s2000 and stuff, but its fun driving

  • @splidude its about the same hp, but lower torque

  • he was reving the fuk out of it man this car wont last long.

  • @TheSerkz I agree, keep red lining that car and it wont last.

  • @pwrbytrd the good thing about rotarys is they can rev to 10k+ all day long and nothing will happen to them. the rev limiter was set at 9k on this car due to the transmission input shaft not being able to handle much more than 9k. The motors perfectly fine revving that high. Sure it won't last 200k miles, but n/a rotarys with larger intake ports rev to 13k+ for 30k+ miles and the only reason their breaking is because the block had to be ground down for the larger intake ports.

  • @inuchan187 its good to learn that from you, thanks much.

  • he pinned that gas pedal to the floor board thats how your supposed to drive damn it

  • its not fake...rotary engines get most of their power at really high rpms...and yes rx8s have make a sound when it hits redline

  • ur right it's totally fake

  • No it´s not! that mazda have a rotary wankel engine 1308ccm.... It dont have turbokit like rx7 that is the metter why it can make this rpms

  • he goes in to redline in order to end up in higher rpms in next gear to be in higher power.

152mph...that is good for a stock.

  • Does The RX8 Beep When It Hits redline?

  • Seems so. What almost also don´t understand ist that Redlining on a normal engine does not produce more power or whatever. Msot engines have their max. Power at least 700-800 RPMs before the Redline. It´s simply stupid.

  • it's a good thing because when you shift up the revs drop. revving past max power then shift up will allow the revs to drop closer to max power than if u shift right at max power. if you look at hp dyno sheets of gas engines, the area around max power is like a mountain. the area under the curve is how much work the engine has done. so more area the better, over a given amount of time. think about it.

  • its not a normal engine its a rotary

  • outstanding !

  • si ma in confronto alla ferrari.........

    cosa vuoi che sia

  • 244 kph is 151~ mph

Man, I hope you were on some smooth, familiar road; anything above 120 on unfamiliar road is very stressful. :/

  • dude u red line it wayyy to long

  • that will not even harm the motor

  • @openshot

Gotta love the Wankel engine. It can take SO MANY REVS!

  • you know that the majority of the world is on the metric system right?

  • @NotoriousRacer

you know the japanese use imperials right?

  • @LigerZero1985 sorry bro they use metric, I have a jdm RX7 I would know.... km/h=metric

    mph=imperial

And I'm Canadian so again, I would know :)

  • Last week I was doin 250. Very stable car

  • Nice, how fast is that in mp/h?

  • 155

  • 245,ok im gonna have to change that to m/ph. this car is truly faster than any 1.3 car ive ever heard of

  • i take it that the car is stock?

even so, its still a really really fast car, the slightest, yet, only flaw is that 6th gear is kind of a dead gear.

  • Well, 6th is just an economy gear. I wish my cars had an economy gear so that i wasn't going 80 @ 4k rpm in 5th.

  • nice!man

just less of torque when 6th gear, otherwise it would get 260+

  • Comment removed

  • nice man!

  • very nice..!!!

  • no power.

  • show me a 1.3 that has that power rotary rules

  • why would i show u a 1.3?

  • Starlet turbo (Y)

  • That's like my RX-8...!!! 231cv...!!! This car it's something so easy to drive!!! fast or not!!! the handling it's very, very good...!!! i've donne on my 258km/h without red's... the soud of the engine only says give more and more and more!!!

  • peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

  • that aint very very fast im somewhat disappointed only 220kmh thats weak my acura does that and doesnt even seam to struggle that much

  • this a 4 cylinder engine thats pretty damn good for a 4 banger!

  • sorry but if it is realy a rx-8, there is no such thing as a cylinder in that car...its a rotary engine, a mazda renesis

  • @VentoDriver lol yeah it does have 2 cylinders, rotary engine still got cylinders but not traditional that we all used to

  • @gaivoron they call them rotors, not cylinders

  • @VentoDriver

if a cylinder is a round thing where the combustion take's place technicaly a rotary engine also has cylinders :)

  • @DonAlcohol are you an idiot... at least google rotory engine before you open your mouth

  • @yealtin

    haha yeah right :)

if you did you might had seen my point was a wiseass one ...

One "round thing" , ( in a rotary engine divided in multiple chambers....) were combustion takes place :D so technically a rotary engine has cylinders.

If you want to take the mathematical term , i'm still right HA :D

(hence te :) behind my preveous post) :)

  • @DonAlcohol the chamber in which,. intake, combustion and exhaust cycles happen in a rotary engine - ISNT round nor cylindrical in any way shape or form.

    a rotary engine is cylinder-less.

  • @DonAlcohol lol. a cylinder isn't round, it is cylindrical, but that doesn't mean it is technically a cylindrical engine.

  • its not. RX8 have a rotary engine

  • I have no idea what u guys just said but that car seems fast!

    vrooooommmm!!!

  • it went 245km/h

  • turbo were are

  • rotaries are not very forgiving about over rev.

  • is not neccesary..use the red zone...the best rpm for this car is 8000 or 8100...i think...just hearing the enging...bad driver..:) from chile...

  • u right man

shift up between 8 and 9

  • So many people talk alot of shit when they know nothing about rotary engines...

1.Turbo is more efficient on a wankel engine than on a piston engine because there is less turbo lag

    2. The renesis engine alongside all other rotary engines were made to be high rev/torque powered... if you have ever owned a rotary you would know that to keep it healthy you MUST red line it occasionally (3-5 times a week) especially in the rx7 series.

  • I was wondering.......I just heard that the mazda rx8 engine has a significant amount of affeteness...more than a regular car...is that right?...and I also heard that around 70,000km you really have to change a lot to it-I refer to the engine-is that correct too???

  • yes.. significantly true.. however I must stress there is no real mileage that they give up at.. it doesn't work that way.. there is plenty of rx8's for sale with over 100k milage around with healthy compression..

depending on how it's kept a rotary engine such as the renesis can outlive a piston engine.. however if you are keen on modding it with turbo's etc it dramatically reduces the engines lifespan because the renesis is different to teh 13b-rew. Mazda have a hard time turbocharing the rx8

  • thats true because thats why they did not put a turbo this time becausing of a heating problem? with the rx7 so they didnt install stock turbo for the rx8?

  • yep

  • one more question if i stall on the rx8 how long do i wait for?/ or can i just turn it back on right away?

  • If you stall, slam it in reverse, and pump the clutch while intermittently flicking the starter on for 1/4 of a second.

That will reinitialize the renesis engine starting sequence which is very provocative if you don't show it whos boss with the steps i afformentioned!

  • What happends when an rx-8 has low compression? How can you tell it has low compression?

  • There will be a significant loss of power.

  • wankel

  • 245km/h

  • I love RX8 engine sound

  • metrics units..! rules... hahahahaha, imperials units sucks..! kidding lol

  • - @ mkfurman2641 -

The top speed reached here was 244 KPH. That equates to 151.62 MPH

  • Maybe if u were smart enough to convert it. sux 4 u

  • 245, look at 1:12

  • yeah right...and what do u suggest????

  • ok what's a real car?

  • what kinda car do you drive?

  • this is a reply to Dabbzta,,, i own a 2006 rx8 6speed and i agree with you completly,,, the most power i get out of mine is around 8250-8500rpms... and after that you lose power,,,, although i admit i redline mine sometimes ,,,

  • 243 kph = 150.9932 mph

best I did with my 2004 was 146mph... could have gone slightly higher, but ran out of road, and wind resistance really picks up around 140

I haven't taken my 2009 up real high yet.

  • I don't get why people take there cars into the red and loose power, this gives a slower 0-60 time. True drivers know there cars and now when to change, you can even feel the loss of power at such high rpm.

  • that's the difference with a normal car and the RX8...

  • RX8 has got Rotary engine

  • Comment removed

  • Spot on. Dont believe him go and look at the torque curve for your engine and find where the peak is. Idea is to change as soon as you hit your peak torque and then try get back there asap. Dumb shits just hear the engine reving and feel like their going fast i guess.

  • actually change past peak power, so it falls back in the range in the next gear.

  • ive spoken to a few ppl about this, they say torque.. F=ma, more torque = more acceleration. Power will get you to a faster SPEED, but wont increase the rate of acceleration if that makes any sense.

  • So my car makes max torque around 3500-4200. I should shift at 4200?

    No. That's ridiculous.

  • Alas, you can't use the F=ma equation in its current form for that firstly, instead, it is right to think of F as torque, M as moment of inertia and a as ANGULAR acceleration (as opposed to linear). What you've said in your post doesn't make much sense. Both torque bands and power bands are both important factors for a car accelerating.

  • Though, that said, I agree that you'll never see a torque or power peak at the limiter.

  • if your engine has higher tq (measured in nm where im from) to hp shift 500 rpm above the peak tq your rpm wont move as fast above it most small engines have more hp to make up for a lack of tq with big cams as well as free flowing parts so they move more air

+ more fuel making more power but the need to rev

  • is this car tuned or not??

  • Thats Km/h

    Not mph.

    Quit Putting Him Down Man.

  • is normal for the rx to smell like rubber after a race

  • sure anot?

  • Zero torque.

  • rotor engine....

  • Comment removed

  • It's a rotory engine...

if you shift at 5000-6000 all the time, you ruine it.

You have to rev it up to 9400 several times.

  • I know it rotary but never driven one so I thought it be the same, my bad bro

  • wow fucktard did you not read the other fuckin comment? open your eyes jackass before posting

  • shut up

  • ignorant fuck read before you speak

  • Btw. A subaru imo is a carjeep with a big wing as of no status only for racing. The interiour is like a standard hatchback from the early 90' s. nuff said ; )

  • so? what has a subaru to do with a mazda rotary?

  • Comment removed

  • @ Deadrick

Maybe not in your country but 2nd handly here a Mazda RX 8 is cheaper.

  • Yes, I saw used Mazda Rx8's, and their very cheap.

    But, I think I'd prefer a Mazda Rx7.

  • If you dragrace I would chose the subaru, if you just want to be touring i' d go for the mazda. By the way can someone tell me a bit about the oil use of this car ? I read many about it that it want' s to use it very much can someone give me some details (not someone who searches it of the internet but someone who actually owns or drives this car)

  • Comment removed

  • You cant compare either one until you have driven them both. Nuff said

  • @deadrick20 You can' t compare this car with a wrx because this car is made for casual to high sports and a wrx is made for rallyracing and has 4wd.

It' s like comparing a tiger with a puma, but be honest. . this car has more style than a wrx, wrx is just made for it' s muscles and looks cheap from the inside. (in my opinion) Plus it costs more. It' s just what you want . . a classy car with fast speed or a warmachine with brutal speed.

  • The wrx does not cost more than a RX8 you moron. And yes you can compare them, and yes it looks ok (not better than a Subaru) but it is slow as shit.

  • I love the way how the buzzer is begging him to shift LOL

    need more hp

  • i have a winning bleu rx-8 ; but was this one standard? i'm looking for a turbo but not know what to chose .. think gonna go for greddy

  • LMFAO! Bullshit!!! There are VERY few cars who hit 0-60 in under 3. Not even a GTR hits 60 in under three, not even a S7 hits that (if it does it's like right on it). a 9.7 quarter..lol. You are SO full of it.

  • Lol i think he meant 5.8 seconds instead of 2.8seconds since the 2 is right under 5 on the number pad. A big mistake either way.

  • I hope you meant 5.8 seconds and do the 1/8 mile in 9.7 seconds. Not in a quarter mile. Either way you made 2 big mistakes.

  • i think he meant 0-60km/h

  • lol. Probably less.

  • Impossible.. Unless prove it.. :)

  • I've driven them before and they are slow acceleration wise. I hate forced induction but I think the RX-8 is actually a pretty good candidate for a turbo.

  • google it lol

  • i dont know much about rx8s or what a "rotary engine" is..can someone please tell me what that engine is??

  • the EASIEST way to desribe is this. rotary engines dont work on your traditional piston cylinders . what it uses is a rotary design. umm.. picture this. if you hold your arm out and hang a hoola hoop from it and start moving your arms to spin the hoola hoop. pretty much works the same. rather than the up and down motion of the traditional piston (most cars have 4-8) rotary engines have a single circular motion. make sence?

  • yeah i got it thanks!!

  • i understand the concept, but using twice the amount of gas to spin it is a problem, because now your getting (as recorded) 15-16MPG. which is equal to a V8 producing alot more HP. Then theres another problem, reliability is in question and having seen the low mileage engines replaced (based on fact not opinion) this is a concern. Having to check oil level every 2 gas fill up's makes me feel like a babysitter also. I see the intention, but it has the odds stacked highly against it.

  • i have an rx-8 and it gets 18-19 city and 24-28 highway. the rotary is a lot more efficient that you think. i understand where you are coming from but until you experience hitting almost 10000 rpms at almost 250 HP in a street car and doing 0 to 60 in less than 6 seconds in a car that only has a 1.3L engine and is less than 30 grand... i think its more of an experience than your average v8. btw this dude has his speedometer in km/h, the lying bastard lol

  • dont get me wrong, id love to own one, but i see the requirements necessary in order for it to work to its full potential...spinning @ 10RPM's id guess is an experience but so is the rush of a C55 AMG which is clocking the 0-60 time in 4.5sec, with 367 foot pounds of torque at your command which leaves the RX8 facing another issue, the torque? its outclassed in that department nearly by everybody. Once again, i see the intention of the engine layout but its outmatched except for handling.

  • Did you just compare it to a C55AMG? Isn't that like... A lot more money?

Really the rotary engine shines in races. At the end of the 24 hours of LeMans Mazda said the 4-rotor engine in the 787B could go around for one more race. They tend to be more reliable when pushed to the limit as in racing in opposed to a piston engine.

Problem solved! Buy both E55 and rx8, race the Mazda drive the Mercedes! :D

  • the rx8 does not do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, before I bought my wrx I test drove one for a day, The RX8 is pretty damn slow

  • its six seconds, plus or minus a 1/2 a sec. wrx is a great car but you cant figure out a cars full potential in one test drive... especially when the dealers shit their pants if you go over 5000 rpms

  • instead of cylindrical pistons, the rotary engine is in basics a big triangle that spins around and does twice the work twice as fast

  • and twice the gas

    lol jokes

theyre not that bad on gas

  • T-A-F-O-S

  • Rx8s are hot but i dont trust rotary engines

  • yeah they are tons of fun to drive, and pretty comfy too, but i get a lot of mixed opinions about their reliability

  • @uriykir What's not to trust? Sure the BSFC is probably a bit lower, but they have far less to go wrong

  • It really depends on what engine you have / its condition / old or new ect... It's really not that bad unless you do it over and over like a retard.

  • impressive , any mods or stock ?

  • wooooooooow

  • pro preço que esse carro deve custar nao anda nada

  • I can fly... :D

  • Thats sweet, that shift noise is annoying. Sweet telemetry.

  • Thats a 1.3 non FI lets remember.

  • Ok, first off, yes, he was reving his car a little high but redline on the rx8 is 9000rpm and it can rev up to about 11000rpm if you wanted to get it reving that high(which would be stupid but its a rotary engine, not a piston engine, it can rev much higher than most cars). 2nd off, he was barely reving it over redline, that was like what 9100rpm if that? redline is 9000rpm on it and with the rotary engine, you dont have to worry as much about getting it a little over as long as its not too much
