Very much unfinished. CDi only has a handful of platformers: the excellent but unfortunately-named "The Apprentice", a port of "Flashback", and not much else. If nothing else, had it been finished this would or could have better than "Wand of Gamelon" (though that isn't saying much) and probably at least a couple of the games in the "Mario Party" series (again, not saying much. Probably should have stopped after the excellent "Mario Party 2").

A shame this one wasn't completed. Actually Nintendo was impressed with their work, and it's not like the NES was a powerhouse to begin it, and it had great games. Novalogic is a capable developer, and that prototype was made too early to be judged.

Novalogic is a company that makes good games. Not fantastic, but good. Deltaforce 2 was quite fun. It sure wasn't going to be "the new Mario" but I bet it wouldn't have been a bad platformer.

It's too bad SMW never got a true successor. It was my first Mario game and definitely one of the better 2D Mario games, and the NSMB series just seemed to outright ignore its existence and a lot of what made it great (no cape or raccoon leaf, SMB1 physics, no Yoshi except for in three levels in NSMBW, etc.) It's a shame to see so many great concepts ignored for years.

It looks to me like Novalogic hadn't programmed a Mario game before, which is fine unless... YOU'VE BEEN COMMISIONED TO MAKE A MARIO GAME! XD I thought the graphics looked inconsistent. Excellent in some places, and mediocre in others, but with those type of graphics, you would want Mario to move along a curvy path. Falling through scenery is unforgivable, I'm certain that the CDI is capable of a decent Mario game, but for that you need a clever programming team
