  • Quentin Terentino looks like this man.

  • Fucking anti Semite.

  • @0kcomputer great composer though. Can't help it, I love his music, and, lets face it, most of the bourgeoisie in this time has been an anti-semite, not only in germany but in the whole of europe and, not to forget, in the US.

  • @0kcomputer is this bad or good?

  • gran música

  • This song is about a sailor who loses his love while out to sea.

  • I wish to go to the eagles nest and listen to this song on some nice head sets. Every thing in that view was his .

  • COUGH

  • I want this song played at my funeral when im getting lowered in the ground.

  • I hear "Get the Jews" in this song

  • @Dunderhead36 and i see that that the schools have really brainwashed u

  • Be vewy quiet...

    I'm hunting wabbits!

  • Oh boy! Wagner's my favorite anti-Semite!

  • @PhantomWerewolf idiot hitler used wagner, wagner did not use hitler! another imcompetant fool.

  • @againstAlexjones Wagner was indeed an anti-Semite, seeing as he was public about it. Hitler used his music because of that.

And please do not use the term "incompetant fool" for someone who has the German and music education to know about Wagner.

By the way, it's incompetent, which is a term used in the legal system which labels a person who is unable to be in his/her own trial.

  • @PhantomWerewolf And Nietzsche was not:

"Wie? ihr wähltet die Tugend und den gehobenen Busen und seht zugleich scheel nach den Vortheilen der Unbedenklichen? - Aber mit der Tugend verzichtet man auf "Vortheile" ... (einem Antisemiten an die Hausthür.)"

  • @nolekulikali My German's a bit rusty, but I did know that Nietzsche wasn't, though his sister Elisabeth was. From what I learned, she took some of his works and made them more hateful to Jews.

  • @PhantomWerewolf Uhm, my try of a translation:

"What? You did choose the honest and upright path but look greedy for the benefits of whom who does not? But with honesty comes sacrifice of those "benefits"... (wrote at and anti-semite's door)"

I don't know anything about his sister.

Do you know the sentence "The weak and failures should perish."?

In terms of Nietzsche's philosophy the strong (because intelligent) and therefore good people were jews and the weak (becaus sacrifcing) anti-semites.

  • @nolekulikali That definitely fits with what I learned about him, that he despised anti-Semites.

  • Also, Beethoven's 3rd was the first symphonic work that required a conductor.

  • nobody categorizes Beethoven as classical. Many musicologists would put Beethoven's 3rd as the first romantic era work. Years, ago when I was small, I asked my violin instructor whether Beethoven was romantic or classical, and he answered "Beethoven was Beethoven!". 'nuff said.

  • wagner's best creation........simply awsome

  • we are flying becouse we are always high

  • thrilling--sets one's blood on fire--as it should with this tale of the ships/sailors/curses and oceans. still, only Wagner had the imagination to pull it off.

  • he sure was a racist fuck, but damn his music was sweet

  • can not wait to be on a plane ....be a flying dutchman B|

  • Those who complain about the (at any rate very faint) occasional coughing: Have you never been to a live classical concert before? There are always some who cough! Maybe it's the dry air in the auditorium, maybe some are bored, but the coughs are practically part of the experience...

  • I hate how if one evil person did something no one else is supposed to like it....i mean hitler liked to breathe, doesnt really stop us

  • @MrMrmike5 Adolf Hitler was also a VERY intelligent man, mind you evil.

  • @BeldakSwordhand yeah invading russia was really a stroke of genius

  • To bad Wagner was an anti semite. Just glad Hitlers love for this music didnt kill the music itself. One of the best pieces ever imo

  • The flying Coughman!

  • wtf with the random coughing??

  • Lindsay Wagner in the suggestions ftw! xD

  • @Dantheman34862 HAHAHAHA, yeah I was like...what?

  • Looks a bit like Stephen Fry...

  • Comment removed

  • @baijokull No he doesn't. Rossini does though.

  • people stfu with the coughing!!! >_<

  • i love that random cough haha! love this overture its amazing!

  • 01:50

  • Seems like a very fast pace in the beginning, or is it just that the performance I have on CD is too slow?^^ Anyway, I like mine better ;)

  • I love this piece of Wagner's. Seen the opera as well, very unique love story...well done!

  • @Countycup1 So the audience is dim-witted because they can't hold in a cough? Good Lord your perception is wrong.

  • If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say...

  • @gilliamjf say the alphabet

  • one of the great antisemites of all time!

  • @SmackNcrack01 thank god for that

  • @SmackNcrack01 That's not true... Liszt married with his daughter if my memory doens't fail.

  • @stalkerfilk the guy in the photo is Richard Wagner

  • Hitler loved him some Wagner (VAG NAH to you)

  • I Love Wagner . Especially the overture to Tannhauser !!!!!

  • This music plays when I take a piss.

  • I was listening to this while reading the legend about Flying Dutchman...It's creepy...

  • Стига сте кашляли бе, селяндури!

    :D

  • @FuckServ Кой кашля, бе селтак :-))))))))

  • neither mozart or beethoven lol

  • @demonicangel227 Ummmm Beethoven and Mozart were classical, not baroque. Chopin was romantic. But hey, 1 out of 4 ain't bad!

  • @raskolnikov2089 not to mention 3 out of 4 that he named are "german fucks" as well.

  • @devilxhlywood hahaha and chopin is not baroque lol

  • @devilxhlywood you are just an ignoranus.

  • @perhapsable thumbs up for responding to me, which linked me here to enjoy this yet again hah

  • @raskolnikov2089 I would say you are in part right about Beethoven as he was also part roamantic or at least the one whose music lead to the romantic period which naturally included Chopin.

  • @raskolnikov2089 The era in which it was made is irrelevant, disregard arguing, enjoy the music.

  • @raskolnikov2089 Beethoven was romantic as well as classical

  • @demonicangel227 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @demonicangel227

Clearly you have no clue which composer was in the Baroque Era... well, certainly not Chopin, neither Mozart nor Beethoven.

  • @demonicangel227 hahaha, i love idiots, they make my day :)

  • an absolute genius at work. this overture really makes you feel like you're in a harrowing struggle to stay afloat at sea, without, you know, actually being at sea, and in danger.

  • Why are so many people coughing? Was this recorded in a tuberculous ward?

  • @autopsi

    LoL!! :D

  • @autopsi I cant any coughing at all, what are you talking about?

  • lol someone does cough

  • Does anybody notice at 1:51 somebody coughs?

  • @5308675309 lol that's cool

  • These Wagner pieces are impossible to conduct. So involving and so freaking chromatic with huge ass orchestras. So you have my salute

  • @sg1741 Are you a conductor? But wasn't Wagner first chromatic opera "Tristan and Isolde" which I believe was the one after this one?

  • @truvianni Wagner's works were always very chromatic. Tristan and Isolde however took the chromaticism a bit further than before.

  • Is there anyone out there who remembers Captain Video and his Video Rangers?

  • Beautiful.I try not to listen too often to this because I never want the hair on the back of my neck to stop standing up when I hear it. All those Third Reich uploads, you naughty man!! I've tried to watch them here in Germany but they are all restricted. Starved, we are, of these little nostalgic trips into ancient sunlight.

  • what orchestra?

  • "Salut à votre très unique apothéose

Et que votre âme aie son cortège, or et fer

Sur un air magnifique et joyeux de Wagner "

    (Paul Verlaine).

  • PLEASE STOP SAYING THIS FALSE CRAP ON EVERY SINGLE VIDEO THAT "TheWickedNorth" CREATES! he's putting this stuff up for people to enjoy it! not for people to bitch and complain about it!

  • Wagner is Superman

  • Wonderful! Simply wonderful!

  • I can alredy feel the glory of this music

  • chi è il direttore?

  • i think it is joseph keilberth conducting in bayreuth..

  • An exciting piece! :)

  • who's conducting?

  • Wagner never out of style. He appeals to our heroic souls.

  • It's an event where people run against each other.... ;)

  • Why don't you correct the spelling mistakes and misuse of capitals in your statement? Content aside, I'd rather if you put a space between "And," and "Wagner." Oh, and not a K on "know."

  • Beautiful!

  • One of my favourite Wagner overtures! Thanks for uploading!! Who are the performers?
