Its a Pike. At my cottage (in northern ontario) I fish off my dock a lot. I use minnows and we catch really nice size northern pike (up to 40") which are around 20lbs or more. They fight pretty good but i'd say smallmouth bass have the most fight in them pound per pound. I used to catch a ton of smallmouth when I was a kid but some dumbass fishermen was using pike minnows for bait and he released the rest he didnt use. Now the bass are a lot smaller (3lb is a large one) and pike infest the lake.
