@SlickiVision I didn't even know that because for some reason when something tragic happens to Brett Favre it's somehow more important than when something happens to Trent Green or someone else in the NFL. I hate the NFL media but I rightfully should since I'm a Raiders fan.
i love how nobody ever talk about how trent green did this same exact thing the game after his father died......ironicly enough that game was against the raiders too....lol
Great, emotional game. I walked in the snow to my friend's house to see this game that night. This is one of those games that people and critics who don't like Favre, should really look at and see that he's really passionate about football despite. He doesn't care about all this media attention. It's the media making a big deal. He has talent even at age 40 and he proved that last eyar by having the one of his best seasons. Last year, he proved to teams and other he's not too old to play ball.

Favre should have been let go years earlier. His past glory made him untouchable when he screwed up. New York got a lemon when they signed him. And now what's he going to do? Dick around with his ego self, wondering whether he's going to play again. Can't do that.
thank god there's at least a few packer fans that still have some sense. all the bull about mr. rodgers neighborhood is stupid. i guess we can all see how that turned out

hey 21Chris or whatever your candy ass name is... you got balls talkin like that about Favre considering the closest you ever go tto the NFl was playing Madden 2002. Grow a pair of balls you waste of semen. condoms work 98% of the time. i guess you were the exception. God you fail at life. Believe me, you are one sad excuse for a human being. Your taking up space on this Earth, so please, kindly leave.
Okay...Favre threw an INT...he has 287 other ones aside form that one. You can't sum a career up with one INT. Look at the records he broke. So he only won 1 Super Bowl...had it not been for Terrell Davis' 157 yds and 3 TD's...favre would have 2 rings. Elway was 12/22 for 123, 0 TD's and an INT. Favre was 25/42 for 256, 1 TD and 0 INT. Over his career, Favre's touchdown to INT ratio was around 1.7 to 1...second only to montana who had 1.9 to 1. Elway has one of the worst at 1 to 1. NOW WHAT!
go get a life rather than putting great athletes down. its not like they give a fuck what u think. nobody does. i dont see how anyone in their right mind could care about your existance. when did your parents abandon you? my guess, around 13, 14? yea since then you must have been through rough gay relationships. just a lil tip, they are prolly dumping you because you weigh too much and crush them when you are having anal. plus i dont see how anyone could get pleasure from the size of ur cock. :D
Yeah, McAlister, you seemed to forget Favre never had a Jerry Rice or Taylor to back him up, Rice is arguably the Greatest WR of ALL TIME, Favre never had a powerful offensive team, he made everyone under him 10x better.
Favre broke every QB record, 253, remember 253 STARTS, 275 with Playoffs! 3 MVP's no FB player ever achieved this, 1 SB.
32 TD's in one season with A BROKEN RIGHT THUMB, could Montana pull that off? I love Montana, but as a FootBall player Brett is Top 3 of All Time.
Um yea judging by your name you are a ravs fan. How many Super Bowls have the Ravens been too? O yea only one granted they did win. And how many Qbs have they had since 96? their first year. Yea overrated sure buddy
Dude that wasn't me I swear my friend was over and we were on YouTube then I went to the bathroom and I guess he must have typed that. He is reallly wierd and we call him the Joshasuar.

Montana is number one, but because of the super bowls. The thing that is amazing about Favre though is the 275 consecutive game streak. To take that many hits, and then play week in and week out is amazing. Favre is also just simply fun to watch. Even with the talented QBs in the league today, the game will certainly miss #4
You are absolutely right, in my opinion: Montana is the greatest. But, if I had the choice of seeing Favre or Montana, I'd go see Favre. He's more entertaining; he and Tarkington are the most entertaining quarterbacks of all time.
I agree. I also watched this live and it felt like an experience out of this world! We will always love you Brett. Our prayers are with you and your family.
i watched this live... i was amazed!! Thanks again Brett!!!! now go do a lot of nothing and enjoy it.. be assured that you will never be forgotten and that we all will miss you!
He might not have had more talent then Montana or other top tier QBs but he had just as much heart or more. He LOVED football more then they did and he proved it by showing up EVERY Sunday. He had fun and gave other players hope. Just because he didn't have the best accuracy or best arm, but because of how HE PLAYED THE GAME. Thats what makes him the best....plus he has a hot daughter.
I think Favre had more physical raw talent than any of those 6-9 quarterbacks I'd think about putting ahead of Favre. Montana did not have Favre's arm. And Favre could scramble when he was younger. What makes Favre not quite as good as say, the top 5, was that he made A LOT of errors of judgment. Too much adrenaline at times, but, of course without the adrenaline you don't have Brett Favre greatness. It's a catch 22.
I agree with what you are saying, but those "errors" were the result of him trying to make something happen. Wasnt that what made him so fun to watch?

Giants fan here...This is probably my best memory of brett favre! What a performance, what a player, what a legend...Greatest QB i ever seen besides Joe Montana..Ten years from now i'll be telling my kids i got to see one of the greatest players in NFL history, thanks for the memories =)
After 17 illustrious seasons we have now sadly seen the last of the legend who i believe in my heart is the greatest player ever to play in the NFL.
Now yes i do realise that there have been some other great players such as: LT, Butkus, Marino, Elway, Montana, Young, Sanders etc.
... but no one has/will ever have the same passion, fire and determined spirit that Favre has had and has kept throughout a long, physically demanding career.
Brett Favre is a legend!!! He will go down as one of the greatest QB's in NFL history!! His name will be synonymous with Lambeau Field and greatness!!!
i'm not. mst3000k says that hes a choker and i'm saying hes not. you throw for 399 yards and 4 touchdowns the day after you father passes and somehow mst3000k thinks that favres a choker
mst3000k...you have no sense of decency or an appreciation for a legend playing in a great american game. I may not be a Packers fan, but I know that this one was one of the greatest games ever played by one of the greatest players to ever play the game. not only does it show strength and resiliency, it shows teammates coming together to help one of their own. how can you talk bad about that???
favre is the greatest qb ever but you gotta give credit to the recievers in this game..i remember watching this...the recievers gave it everything they had to catch anything that came their way that night...legendary game! GO PACK!
all i know is mst300k is your a fag you've done nothing in your life that's why you sit on the internet and think you're hot stuff i hope brett fires a rocket football right at your face

I watched the postgame interview. Choker SAID he should've thrown that ball outside more. C'mon man, didn't you watch that postgame interview or were you crying?
u must be the packer's offensive coordinator to know the playbook and know which play was called. FAVRE SAID THAT HE SHOULD HAVE THROWN THE BALL OUTSIDE MORE. So it looks like the reciever ran the correct route, Choker just threw a bad ball, AGAIN.
i'm sure that all the players that HAVE a father were taught or got started in football by their fathers. I'm not trying to say that is wasn't tough for him, i'm just saying that Choker gets over-glorified for shit like this game where he just chucked it up.
that game was JUST THE RAIDERS INABILITY TO STOP ANYTHING, not brett playing well. He just chucked it up like usual. FAVRE=CHOKE! hahahahahahahahaha! way to go packers, you did it! You choked! Everybody has/had a father. You dont see when Korey Stringer dies IN PRACTICE, the effect it has on a team. He's not the only person to ever lose a loved one and go to work. CHOKE!
don't be a dick. it was a great story...he did his job despite the shit that was goin on in his life...his team rallied behind him and helped him have a spectacular game to honor the memory of his father.
it's sickening that you would try to take away the glory, honor, and inspiration this performace gave.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
blah blah blah blah blah. whatever. the media overdoes everything. Stringer died in camp. That HAS to be more of a mindfuck on a team than one guy's father dying.
Then Stringer's unfortunate death would be part of a "Sports Tragedys" countdown and should not be compared with "Sports Preformances" countdown shows, you asshat.
Well I'm sure that if YOUR father ever passes away (which I'm NOT hoping for) That you have your best night of working at Mcdonalds EVER!!! Flip those burgers like a champion!!!!
Well guys, I'm also a Brett Farve fan, but this week, they playing against my hometeam the NY Giants. I hope my giants win, but if they dont, then i'll root for the packers. The packs are my second fav team. Go Giants and Packers!
Absolutely amazing, this really choked me up. Favre and packer fan for life, there will never be another QB with as much charisma and everyman appeal as favre has brought to this game
i will be a packer fan forever. im so proud of the packers this season. i just hope they can go all the way. THEY WILL! haha and Favre will be back next year! Once favre is retired the legacy will continue.
They always say Brett threw 399 yards and 4 TDs in this game; but what people forget is that Brett threw 4 TDs and 300 yards before halftime, and the Packers ran the ball the second half cause they were up so much.
Brett Favre is simply the greatest quarterback in NFL history. No one has overcome the obstacles he overcame. I can't even imagine the packers without Brett.
This is the Brett Favre I'm going to remember.

I beg anybody with a good relationship with their father, to comprehend how monumentous this performance was considering the circumstances.
Whatever is said, done and ultimately fate nobody can deny that this man is in the upper echelon of quarterbacks.
INT leader maybe, careless gunslinger - yeah BUT - look at his positives, how he didn't fall apart in this circumstance is amazing.

Definitely one of the top 5 qb's of all time. Sad to see him finally retire, he had an amazing career.

Brett Favre's retiring :(
After 17 illustrious seasons we have now sadly seen the last of the legend who i believe in my heart is the greatest player ever to play in the NFL.
Now yes i do realise that there have been some other great players such as: LT, Butkus, Marino, Elway, Montana, Young, Sanders etc.
... but no one has/will ever have the same passion, fire and determined spirit that Favre has had and has kept throughout a long, physically demanding career.
Brett Favre GREATEST

hey thegardner123 shut the fuck up farve is not a choker hes a hall of famer
servera10 4 years ago
i'm not. mst3000k says that hes a choker and i'm saying hes not. you throw for 399 yards and 4 touchdowns the day after you father passes and somehow mst3000k thinks that favres a choker
thegardner123 3 years ago
brett's the shit

favre is mr.monday night
skynyrdrules 4 years ago
mst3000k...you have no sense of decency or an appreciation for a legend playing in a great american game. I may not be a Packers fan, but I know that this one was one of the greatest games ever played by one of the greatest players to ever play the game. not only does it show strength and resiliency, it shows teammates coming together to help one of their own. how can you talk bad about that???
PoaTree722 4 years ago
favre is the greatest qb ever but you gotta give credit to the recievers in this game..i remember watching this...the recievers gave it everything they had to catch anything that came their way that night...legendary game! GO PACK!
pjam07pjam 4 years ago 2
favres the dawn name one quarterback with more flare then him
bretttfavre4 4 years ago
I remember that game... Unbelievable. That was the year he had a broken thumb also right?
He was spectacular. Started off like 10-10 and his first incompletion was an intentional pass out of bounds. Great Catches by his receivers also.
GoPistons04 4 years ago
that pass at 45 secs; unfrigginbelievable
no one else could make that pass that perfect
just simply amazing
bean111689 4 years ago
Ya brett favre is a choker. He really choked in this game. Yep. His father just dies and he throws for 399 yards and 4 touchdowns. Yep choker
thegardner123 4 years ago
You don't have a clue about football buddy. You better watch desperate housewives or other shows suitable for you.

I watched the postgame interview. Choker SAID he should've thrown that ball outside more. C'mon man, didn't you watch that postgame interview or were you crying?
mst3000k 4 years ago
u must be the packer's offensive coordinator to know the playbook and know which play was called. FAVRE SAID THAT HE SHOULD HAVE THROWN THE BALL OUTSIDE MORE. So it looks like the reciever ran the correct route, Choker just threw a bad ball, AGAIN.
mst3000k 4 years ago
i'm sure that all the players that HAVE a father were taught or got started in football by their fathers. I'm not trying to say that is wasn't tough for him, i'm just saying that Choker gets over-glorified for shit like this game where he just chucked it up.
mst3000k 4 years ago
u suck at life..

If Brett Favre had Randy Moss or Jerry Rice to throw to, you would not be saying jack.

rh21nd21 4 years ago
wtf r u talking about?
mst3000k 4 years ago
that game was JUST THE RAIDERS INABILITY TO STOP ANYTHING, not brett playing well. CHOKE!
mst3000k 4 years ago
don't be a dick. it was a great story...he did his job despite the shit that was goin on in his life...his team rallied behind him and helped him have a spectacular game to honor the memory of his father.
it's sickening that you would try to take away the glory, honor, and inspiration this performace gave.

blah blah blah blah blah. whatever. the media overdoes everything. Stringer died in camp. That HAS to be more of a mindfuck on a team than one guy's father dying.
mst3000k 4 years ago
Then Stringer's unfortunate death would be part of a "Sports Tragedys" countdown and should not be compared with "Sports Preformances" countdown shows, you asshat.

Well I'm sure that if YOUR father ever passes away (which I'm NOT hoping for) That you have your best night of working at Mcdonalds EVER!!! Flip those burgers like a champion!!!!

not a packers fan but brett favre and john elway are by far my favorite QBs of all time.
whobo456 4 years ago 3
the second part is right but the first isnt everyone everywhere is a packers fan at heart
churchy1993 4 years ago
They always say Brett threw 399 yards and 4 TDs in this game; but what people forget is that Brett threw 4 TDs and 300 yards before halftime, and the Packers ran the ball the second half cause they were up so much.
dragynslare 4 years ago 3
i will die a packer fan. brett is my hero. he doesn't even get all smiley and snotty like some other QBs i know. best guy to ever play the game.
