Basically, if you are on a hourly or mileage rate or anything other than salary, you are a employee at will and can be terminated at any time for any reason. You can't sue them. i worked for jb hunt from 1999 to 2007-had very good experiance,good miles,good pay,kepy my timeoff request,treated me well,able to take toff over 2 months twice not get fired 3 rd time terminated me after 65 days and got me reinstated with same pay-i worked for 2 companies after them i didnot have a good experiance-left jb b/c wanted to be home weekly-i treated them well,did my job,they took care of me

Like for instance, I am going to get shorted $300 next pay day cause I didn't turn in my activity sheet for last wednesday, I got no one to blame but myself but I will get it in my next check. Other than the increased tax reprecussions the problem will be handled in a timely manner.

Hello JBH drivers, your company has had a policy since the early 90's to put good long loads on trains. Trucks are used to go to the shipper, wait all day w/o pay, load the thing, and take it to a train. Then another truck does the opposite at the destination. B4 hiring on with a company, look at a train and realize every load you see, is a load that a driver is going to spend an entire day delivering and then drive all night to pick up another load so a train can do the easy miles.
You are an idiot! I am one of the drivers that delivers these loads off the train and brings them to the train. And it is hardly waiting all day. We run right up to our 14th hours, we get load pay, mileage, detention. We do about four loads a day a piece and make dam good cash doing it, Ya, we put our hours in, but I will put my stub besides anyones. It is no secret that JB hunt is getting away from OTR, why? It is no longer profitable. Wake up!

But if you wan't to compare pay checks, when my father worked for them in the 1980's he would bring home on average $900/wk with a top yr of $62,000. He had to quit b/c after they started the piggy back service. While you are busy comparing checks, ask some old drivers what their pay was back b4 deregulation. Almost all O/O made more then than they do now.

You simply cannot make descent money as a OTR company driver. When i used to work for Con-way, their senior Line haul drivers earn over $80K a year. Senior drivers at JB, you know the ones that sit around all day delivering those rail containers and not getting paid make even more than that, So my advice to the Underpaid OTR guys is move into more profitable areas of the company. It is that simple. OTR as a company guy simply don't pay, for the simple fact there is no work due to lack of demand.

I know it's policy to slip seat but I worked 345 of the first 365 days I was employed and they couldn't get me a truck closer to my house. They can fill my seat with a driver who wants to be home every 2 weeks.

JB Hunt use to be a decent company. If the 'old man was still around all of the fellas who work in Lowell at the corp office would be kicking rocks down the road. I once saw a JB Hunt company driver cry because he was being fired for idling his truck too much to keep from freezing in the winter time up around New York. He was not provided with an APU or bunk heater so he had to idle to keep warm and they cut him loose and wrecked his DAC report.

buddy not only did i talk to my fleet mngr, i sent msgs, and was ignored. i sent loads that he knew i did not have legal time to run, and when i would refuse the load, i would sit. then i would be given 150 mile loads and a delivery appt 2 days away. when i was recruited, i was offered 42 cpm, and when i got my first check i made 32 cpm. this company treats drivers like slaves. you must be a recruiter, because you really cannot believe the BS you are saying. i know better.
i do admit, this guy has issues, but lets take my situation, i am a college education man, prior military, and former police officer. i worked for jb hunt for 1 month. i put in my hometime request as soon as i went out, i was supposed to be home 2 weeks after leaving. at three days before my hometime was supposed to start, i called because my qualcom msgs were being ignored. i was told that my fleet mngr would get me home when he got me home, after 26 days out, i got home and quit. NEVER AGAIN
I used to drive under my own authority, and once the fuel prices got to a point where i couldn't afford them, a decided to go to jb hunt. i did this because i never really saw too many jb trucks sitting in the truck stops on the weekends, i figured they had alot of freight, and were paying good. hell, 42 cpm isnt bad. i foun d out real quick, 42 cpm doesnt mean shit when your driving 1000 miles per week. i have been treated like shit since i got here, sorry jb,ur getting your truck back saturday

JB Hunt use to be a decent company. If the 'old man was still around all of the fellas who work in Lowell at the corp office would be kicking rocks down the road. I once saw a JB Hunt company driver cry because he was being fired for idling his truck too much to keep from freezing in the winter time up around New York. He was not provided with an APU or bunk heater so he had to idle to keep warm and they cut him loose and wrecked his DAC report.

Try managing these people, I used to be a manager at J.B. Hunt! Its not entire this poor guys fault J.B. Hunt treats their people pretty bad till they crack like this dude! They almost got me to crack! J.B. Hunt is not the way to go. For all you people out there considering J.B. Hunt, don't do it. I wish I had not worked for them!

buddy not only did i talk to my fleet mngr, i sent msgs, and was ignored. i sent loads that he knew i did not have legal time to run, and when i would refuse the load, i would sit. then i would be given 150 mile loads and a delivery appt 2 days away. when i was recruited, i was offered 42 cpm, and when i got my first check i made 32 cpm. this company treats drivers like slaves. you must be a recruiter, because you really cannot believe the BS you are saying. i know better.

i do admit, this guy has issues, but lets take my situation, i am a college education man, prior military, and former police officer. i worked for jb hunt for 1 month. i put in my hometime request as soon as i went out, i was supposed to be home 2 weeks after leaving. at three days before my hometime was supposed to start, i called because my qualcom msgs were being ignored. i was told that my fleet mngr would get me home when he got me home, after 26 days out, i got home and quit. NEVER AGAIN

I used to drive under my own authority, and once the fuel prices got to a point where i couldn't afford them, a decided to go to jb hunt. i did this because i never really saw too many jb trucks sitting in the truck stops on the weekends, i figured they had alot of freight, and were paying good. hell, 42 cpm isnt bad. i foun d out real quick, 42 cpm doesnt mean shit when your driving 1000 miles per week. i have been treated like shit since i got here, sorry jb,ur getting your truck back saturday
