Love this review! Right to the point and love how you talk about "real-life" use. I think some of the reviewers on here forget that we are not all 13 year olds just wanting a "cool" phone. I am on Verizon, just got the Palm Pre Plus cuz I've had a BB for 2 years and was getting bored, but I am thinking about getting the new Bold. My hubby has it and loves it. Love the Pre, but wish it had some simple things that most phones have like voice record, being able to send sound in a txt msg, etc.

SuperGrissom, new laptop. Got the Tour! Lovin every minute of it. Sync my iTunes no problem to it. Sync's everytime I plug it to my laptop. I looks like a real man's phone. No cute stuff going on here. I set it next to my watch collection and it fits right in. The subtle chrome trim, the chrome slivers between the buttons. GQ...you bet. You know the Bold has a leather back to it..I want that! What would be nice if someone made a back door out of wood, redwood, cherry, oak. Hey you should.

@DesiMakeupGrl I got the 8530 through Sprint. Its been extremely reliable with basically no issues. Use the standby function to extend battery life. If youre with Sprint you can wait for the Bold 9650(Tour2) Its coming out in late May. Its just like 9630 but better with wifi, more memory and trackpad.

well i would have to say for everyday, hands down the blackberry... but the youtube is better with htc phones, but the hero has no keyboard(you will get tired of that real quick) and the touch pro 2 freezes so much, and has that crappy windows os.. go with the tour, you'll love it!

the kb on the tour is also the perfect size and makes writing emails a breeze... currently my dream phone would be the tp2 running android 2.0 with sense ... the next phone i hear sprint releasing is the htc leo ... which has a massive screen and will run on wm 6.5 and no hardware kb ... that wont be till the beginning of 2010 ...? so my dream phone wont be released anytime soon !!!!

Flossycarter, now that I have had the Hero for three weeks I was debating on exchaging it for the Samsung Moment. Once I saw the Moment in person, it was wack. That keyboard is silly and cheap to me. Youtube videos play the same. (both have the option to play in high quality so wtf?) That WACK ASSED keyboard is NOT for a man's hands at all. The Moment may have the faster processor, however, I feel we have the best of the two phones. The TP2 btw is a keeper for business purposes as well!

Good review... my thoughts:

I never had the pre but the KB in my opinion is too small and u hear allot of issues with battery and slide out kb .. it will be a phone to keep an eye on over time... the TP2 is an amazing hardware phone .. the big screen and to me the best slide out kb on the market ... the only killer is that it runs on wm 6.1 .. u can flash ROMS and customize but that is allot of man hours u have to pump into the phone to get it where u want it ...

Htc hero, hands down in my opinion is the best route right now fam. I get my emails, no exaggeration, a sec or two after i do on my comp. Touch screen is on point, txting is nice because of the auto correct. I had the pre and its tough, I personally don't like bb's too much and roll with windows phones usually (still use my q9c) but I gotta say that above the mediocre battery life, its the best phone on sprint. 1.Htc hero 2. Htc Pro 2 3. Palm Pre. I think ya vids are nice cutty, but hero here.

What's good playa! Let's see...blackberry tour of iphone 3gs...well it depends on what your using your phone mainly for.. If your serious about emails and you use instant messages a lot, and you need something that's all aroung dependable..go with the tour for sure..if your into the music and video and all those fun apps, then the iphone is for you.( but the no keyboard sucks ) I would go with the tour..way more for your money..

Disabling stock SMS app did'nt help? Not sure why there is a SMS bug of Sprint Hero. Original Hero is works just right for me. Also throw that joint in a case, asap. And a screen protector from boxwave should help. got mine yesterday, no bubbles after application, no more cleaning smudge off of surface.

Word Yes Grand Central you are truly an OG ..Yeah Man I copped the TP2 tonight (tp replacement) but man its cool but i'm not feeling the lag issues keyboard is great. but the flash is gone and they kept almost the same spec's as the original TP. thats what's causing it to function slowly. The Company is pushing it to the Younger audience with the facebook,twitter etc not really for the professional type of crowd. and it's bland. and the keys once again are small.

The Samsung moment..great specs as far as speed less lag,camera has flash, unlike the Hero and it's an Android no overlay software like HTC as it is samsung so it's apps are stand alone features on the Device not to mention the slide out keyboard and last the Price which is great. people will copp out the door but me i'n not a samsung fan i'm not diggin the look of it looks cheap.

Do u have eight phone number or just change your number to which ever phone to test? Also, u forgot to mention the Hero has visual voicemail.  That is another plus. I have the HTC TP 2 as well and I think imma keep the Hero as a backup phone. U are right tho. It is a fun phone. The visual voicemail is keeping me from returning it to Best Buy. I still got time to think about it tho. What do u think?

After reading some of the tips that people gave you to preserve battery life- I think I will keep mine as well. Don't forget to try the Calibration feature that is on the phone for the virtual keyboard man. It makes a world of difference!!! TRUST ME!!!!!
