Given that you're playing this in the key of C# and have a capo on the 2nd fret I'm puzzled by you saying that you're playing it in normal tuning and just using the fretted D G B strings for a movable A shape. Valid point, but I can't say I agree. I like natural amp overdrive and dislike that "modern metal", oversaturated distortion, at least on my own work. I already have two different overdrives, two fuzzes and a distortion pedal. I hardly use them except when playing live.

No, I just do it in standard. Too lazy to retune.  I think open G is what Keith Richards likes to use. I just bar the first finger across the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings for a movable A shape.
