  • I see why they call him Admiral Boom

  • I want to be Admiral Boom when I'm an old man.

  • BOOM!

  • Every city and town in the United States needs an admiral boom.

  • @walyern every city and town in the world needs an admiral boom to keep order.

  • @walyern But you wouldn't want to live next door to him! :D

  • At 3:46, that "BAAAANKS!" has become my catch phrase. Although I don't know anyone called Banks.

  • Press 2 a few times and the exclaim "When's it gunna be my turn!?"

  • Ghastly looking crew, I must say!

  • @EvilgidgitReturns Wonderful line isn't it :)

  • i like this video

  • i like this video

  • i like this video

  • @MsAspray Me Too :)

  • My fave Disney character of all time!

  • I'd like to see someone try and get away with this in today's London. In our paranoid post 9/11 & 7/7 climate people get scared if a suitcase gets left on a train...

  • Upper-class hooligan.

  • Four... Three... Two... One... FIRE!!!!! LOL!!!

  • "Ghastly looking crew I must say", Admiral Boom, FTW!

  • I don't think he ever actually served in His Majesty's Navy.

  • To this day, still one of the best characters of all time. "POSTS EVERYONE!!" XD

  • @melondoggy I agree! A total classic!

  • this guy is nuts

  • What part of London is this set in?

  • @2Touchstone I would say that it is not the Eastside, that is for sure but I do not know where exactly. Does anyone who knows London, know what area this would have been in?

  • It looks like Marylebone, in the West End.

  • @LoreneFaith

likely Bloomsbury, to the North of the center of the City of London. It could also be the West End, since Mr. Banks was said to walk by St. Pauls on his way to the bank, and that could be interpreted as either the financial houses near the Temple Bar in Fleet Street, or the Bank of England located near the Mansion House in the center of the City of London.

  • @zbt518 You really know London. I think the fact, as you stated, that Mr. Banks could walk to St. Pauls is a good clue and there was also a park in walking distance. Thanks for the information.

  • @zbt518 St Pauls Cathedral is right next to/part of London's financial district (often referred to as "The City") The Banks house could be anywhere in London, it's a more-or-less fictional location (filmed on a set).

  • Comment removed

  • @2Touchstone Was all filmed on a set. Cherry Tree Lane is a fictional street anyway.

  • POSTS EVERYONE!!!!!

  • I wonder how they filmed the scene starting from 1:08

Either with a lot of practice or perhaps certain items are partly glued to the furniture?

    So well done

they don't make em like this anymore lol

  • "No one sleeps this morning.

Put in a double charge of powda!"

  • a double charge aye aye sir!

  • I think the name of Boom suits him, no?

  • Definitely!!!

  • "Shake things up a bit, what!" that face is classic

  • BANKS!!!!!!! DO YOU HEAR ME?!!!!

  • "We're being attacked by Hottentots! Cheeky devils! Give them what for!....

Move along Mr Benecal handsomely now! Teach the beggars a lesson! Stand by! FIRE!"

    WHAT A LEGEND!

  • You forgot a line. After he says,"Give them what for," he then says,"Empty the shot lockers!"

  • My mistake ROFL! You are perfectly correct!

  • "How are things in the world of finance"

"Never better, money's sound, credit rates are moving up, up, up and the British pound is the admiration of the world!"

    "Good man"

Those were the days! A banker does his job properly, gets paid properly and is rewarded with a "good man!" ADMIRAL BOOM IS A LEGEND!!!!

  • With all the racket that Admiral Boom makes with his cannon, I'm surprised the neighbors don't complain.

  • Maybe he's authorized to do so. He fires a cannon every hour from 8 to 6 to let the whole town know that another hour has started. Mr. Banks doesn't seem to mind, but then again, Mr. Banks is also someone who believes precious time is important.

  • I saw it on Broadway last weekend on opening night in Cleveland. It was fantastic. But Admiral Boom didn't have the cannon. But he was still there. Just not as much.

  • we did mary poppins too as a play the other day i was mr binicle but then i was a news seller :(

  • the one who was mr binncale and i got a cheer in the step in time part

  • That is so me

  • they are doing mary poppins for a school play at my school and i got picked to be admiral boom

  • "The world takes its time from Greenwich....but greenwich takes its time from admiral boom."

    lol, best line ever.

  • Hah, I always loved Admiral Boom... though it'd be a challenge to live next to him and get the drill down pat so I can catch anything that falls. XD

  • "BANKS!!!" LOL

  • @k45s Press 4 for "BANKS!"

  • He may not have had a very big portion of the overall film but he added so much to it! Wonderful character!

  • I freakin love admiral boom he was always my favourite part

  • HHAHAHHAH life boat over the side of the house to clean the windows LOL

  • Also that the roof of the house looks like a ship! Great stuff!

  • The very beginning is awesome.

  • admiral boom : Good afternoon young man>

  • Admirable Boom is so funny.

  • Posts everyone! I love this movie.

Fun Fact: If you listen very closely, you will notice that some of the sounds of fireworks were later used in "The Rescuers".
